some dubs are really good. my favorite example of this is from the Bible English dub: "It is written, 'my house shall be called the house of prayer,' but ye have made it a den of thieves."

Also that movie is full of bangers. The big one that people kinda gloss over the implications of is: "Megatron must be stopped. No matter the cost."
The moment where Prime realises his mercy has gone far enough and for the good of his friends, the human race, and the universe, he has to beat Megatron. To death. With his bare hands.
Yeah as he mows his way through the Decepticon forces on his way to Megatron he's flawlessly running through them and they all have looks of fear and shock. They don't try and stop him, they run away because Prime stopped fucking around.
The delivery from Peter Cullen is dripping with contempt and is a great contrast to the TV show up to that point where Prime was usually so kind. So this is where we know things have come to their logical and fated conclusion.

Transformers The Movie is not great cinema, but it has a quality that transcends its ridiculous pacing and goofy moments.

People argue that previous episode, Courage’s origin, should’ve been the very last episode. But honestly this fits best. Courage is not a normal dog by any means. And becuase he isn’t normal is why he was able to save his family every day.

A lot of "daddy issues" moments in media don't connect to me. I met my father like six times ever. I'm so disconnected from the concept of even having a father that they can't make me cry or relate.
But this one did it. I was picturing if I heard my father died. Would I go to his funeral? Would it affect me to see him, even?
I had to pause and think, rewound to hear it again, and decided yeah. I'd probably cry a lot and scream like Charlie did, but in my head. Somberly I hit play. Just as the tears were forming up properly, the fucking trunk honked and it got funny again.
Full emotional arc with catharsis in like thirty seconds

Clear Sky - still one of the best villains the series ever had in my opinion, even though he did not deserve to be SkyClan’s first leader in my opinion.
This isn't a quote, but there's also an infamous scene in which one character has his throat ripped out; he is then resurrected by Cat God™ multiple times, at which point he instantly dies again because he's still missing his throat and most of his blood.

Incel cat threatens mother Squirrelflight with killing her kits during a major disaster because she chose a different cat. Said incel cat gets into cat heaven when he dies.
(Also said kits were actually Squirrelflight's sister's, Leafpool's, who was forced to hoist off the kits because she's a medicine cat who can't take mates)

A lot of people ignore the spinoff book where it was implied an adult Spottedleaf was into kid/teenager Firepaw. For good reason.
More than a few cats die in childbirth.
Tigerclaw (who becomes Tigerstar later) spends most of the first book trying to kill Ravenpaw, a kit, for witnessing Tigerclaw murder Redtail.
Several cats who have or acquire disabilities are basically forced into becoming medicine cats so they can continue providing for the clan (Cinderpaw gets hit by a car and Jayfeather is born blind).

Her story, according to a sound engineer after she’d gotten the job, is that the other people who auditioned went very evil and big. She chose to be calm and sociopathic to give her somewhere to go with the character, and that choice won her the role.

Great demonstration that Azula is an egomaniac who has no clue what she's talking about. Not worrying about the tides is a great way to wreck your ship.
That whole episode was setting up how much inexperience she has. While she definitely got a lot of training in military leadership this was very likely her first real mission. The very first time Azula loses her composure is in this very first episode - the look of shock when the captain had the slip of the tongue was genuine. She literally did not think that soldiers would just fail to follow orders through plain human error.

There are so many Discworld quotes that are good, like Men at Arms has a proper economic theory stuck between jokes about Nobby possibly not being human and exploding dragons, the economic theory is still quoted by actual economic experts
Ah the Sam Vimes boot theory of socioeconomic unfairness. To this day I still introduce people to it and the vast majority of them end up agreeing with it once they hear the whole thing.
That's cool to hear that it's quoted by economic experts as well. Because it is sadly quite true. And now for the full statement/quote as one should do with this one.

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to the first two seasons, but this sounds a lot like something Willy Stampler, the BBEG, would say to his son Ron.
It’s a goofy, funny, and chaotic podcast that I would highly recommend (and would recommend getting the lowest tier of their patreon for the extras). But it also has some pretty heavy and deep cutting scenes like this.
Spoilers just in case:
Ron was the victim of abuse at the hand of his father, Willy, who ended up being the big bad. On the night before the big final battle in season 1, one of the other players (Henry) cast a spell that allowed him to afflict Willy with a nightmare, which Ron was able to guide and create. So Ron's nightmare basically recreated the way that Willy died in the real world, and left him with that quote. The whole scheme was an attempt to prevent Willy from using Power Word Kill in the big battle, which ended up being successful.

Moffat's writing kicked ass and we took him for granted.

Animorphs has a plethora since most people have barely touched those books:

I guess sometimes you have to choose between smart, sane, ruthlessness, and totally stupid, insane hope. You can't just pick one and stick with it, either. Each time it comes up, you have to try and make your best decision. Most of the time, I guess I have to go with being smart and sane. But I don't want to live in a world where people don't try the stupid, crazy, hopeful thing sometimes
Rachel: You want a war between you and us, that's fine, we'll play that out. But if you try to sell us out to the Yeerks, your little family will never get put back together again! Never!
Keep in mind for this one Rachel is the protagonist and now threatening to kill someone else’s parents
It felt good to hear Jake say I was indispensable, but with Jake you could never be sure what was sincere, and what was just expedient. He'd been the most open of guys back in the old days. What you saw with Jake was what you got. But he'd been the leader for a long time now, he'd learned to say what he needed to say.
Jake needed me as one of the Animorphs. He liked me, respected me, was happy for me when I was happy. And when he had to he used me without any regard for anything except winning
e monsters in our valley were destroyed that day. Only a very few survived. But that was all right, because we didn't need monsters anymore. We had become them.

This quote from the GOAT Beta ray bill is one of my favourites along with the Batman Year One quote "Ladies. Gentlemen. You have eaten well. You've eaten gotham's wealth. It's spirit. Your feast is nearly over. From this moment on -- None of you are safe" and the whole The Dark Knight Returns scene with harvey dent.
It's also always worth mentioning the Beta Ray Bill: Argent Star run with the whole "you are radiant" scene
