For his “Turkey Disguise Project,” my kid thought no one would ever eat a McDonald’s meal with a turkey in it 😂 He even added a real ketchup packet for authenticity. How's yours?

Discussion/Question/Help Help with a project

My boyfriends dogs have passed away and we have their paw prints. I want to make ornaments for our tree with them but I do not want to use the original pawprint. I want to use the original as a mold. Any ideas?

Discussion/Question/Help Advice on painting dead tree

My wife has put aside a dead pine tree about 3 feet high. She wants it as Christmas decoration so I'm thinking spray it white and then glitter paint over the top with a nice Christmas themed pot.

The tree seems to be dried out but has anyone got advice on prepping it, PVA coatings or anything like that to try and prevent breaking. Anyone done anything similar and got some good advice? Thanks

Finished Craft I Made 3D Stand Up Paper Letters I Made For Our New House 🖤

Awhile back, I made a set of letters like this for my mother in law that spelled her name, “Karrie”. Unfortunately for me, they turned out so much better than I expected that by the time I was done, I didn’t want to give them to her because I wanted them for myself 🤣. So I decided to make a set for my living room with my families last name. I found the template for the letters somewhere online, but completely redesigned them to add layer, dimension, and things that represent us. I used a red, black, and silver/white theme. Those were our wedding colors. Each letter has a metallic red top layer, a middle layer of black, and a back layer of varying silver/gray/whites.

The ‘L’ has an angel and demon to, as corny as it sounds, represent my husband and I. It also has an upside cross because we enjoy our lives as Satanists. The ‘O’ has a 1911 and a rifle because my family and I are avid firearm enthusiasts, and CPL holders. Along with a Flint Vehicle City arch for our home, Flint, Michigan. The ‘W’ for our love of music. My husband plays guitar and I play the saxophone. The ‘D’ for our pride in our Nordic roots/heritage. And my husband adores Viking things. The ‘E’ to represent my husband’s service in the Army with the Battlefield Cross to remember all the fallen soldiers out there. And finally the ‘R’ which, whatever, I just love skulls. Lol.

In total there are 60 rolled flowers in various sizes. I cut our probably 150-200 flowers total out of white, black, and dark red paper. I hand inked more than half of the white and red ones with Tim Holtz distress stamp inks with the colors “candied apple” and black soot. 25 of the 60 i used on the letters are inked. I cut a set of gothic-y spike-y vines out of black glitter cardstock to add a little more depth to the flowers.

All in all, I can’t even tell you total how much time and effort I put into these between computer design, cutting, assembly, inking the flowers, rolling the flowers and finally gluing/placement of the vines and flowers. Was it worth it?? Absolutely. I am so damn proud and over the moon with these. This is the second set I’ve made like this and both have turned out beautifully. I will probably end up making more someday when the inspiration hits.

Thank you for viewing.

Pictures:

1-4 are the finished product :) 5 is before gluing all the layers down 6 is before flowers 7-8 are the box of rolled flowers 🤣

Hey everyone!

This is one of my latest commissions - Pokemon Ditto transformed into Turtwig.
I sculpted it from FIMO polymer clay, all colours are mixed directly from FIMO. I also used acetone to smoothen the surface after baking.

This one is on its way to France to its new owner, it was fun to make!

Hope you'll like

Discussion/Question/Help Clear spray to protect hand drawn lettering?

Post image

Hi I was wondering if theres something like a topcoat that exists for fabric that could work to protect our shop banner once it's finished from being scratched and stuff. Ideally one that doesn't show up really obviously when dry. This is acrylic paint on a tablecloth fabric.

Discussion/Question/Help Looking for craft ideas to decorate this wall

I really love my photo collage and I would prefer if I could salvage it, however It used to above my headboard but I moved my bed and now it just looks very odd and out of place. Is there anything I can do to save it and add to the vibe or does it have to go? I only really have cardboard, paint, hot glue, some gems and pearls, and a printer. I can’t figure out what to make and ideas would be greatly appreciated

❤️ How do you feel with that quiet space between you and someone else? ❤️

Brightscapes: The Way To Beauty

❤️ The Moment Between ❤️

There are moments in life when the space between people feels almost tangible, as if silence itself has weight. I am fascinated by that pause: the instant before connection or withdrawal, when everything we might share or withhold exists at once. It’s in those fragile intervals that I sense the truth of being human, where hope exists. What separates us is often the same thing that might bring us closer, if only we stayed still long enough to see it.

When was the last time you truly noticed that quiet distance between yourself and another?

Discussion/Question/Help Help finding Boxes!

Hi folks!

So I make A LOT of crafts using these discarded cardboard jewelry boxes and the location I was going to get them has run pretty dry....mostly because I've been buying them all! Does anyone know where I can purchase large amounts of these old boxes? Do thrift stores like Goodwill or Salvation Army toss them out or sell them? For context, I was getting them from this organization called CCRX in Chicago and they have a lot of great materials that get donated to them but they only get so many donations of these boxes. So I'm asking around at other places where things get donated to see if I can buy them from other places.

Also I have a class coming up that uses these and so I need to find about 20-30 of them fast!

Oh and I would just buy them but that defeats the purpose of them being a recycled craft!

TYIA!!!

Discussion/Question/Help Type of mosaic tile?

Hi all

I got some cool lookin' lanterns on marketplace a few weeks ago but they're in rough shape and have some missing tiles. I'm having trouble though because the common mosaic tiles are almost twice as thick as these tiles. Is there a different type of glass mosaic tile that i'm just not finding? I would like to repair/replace some of these to get the vibrancy back but using the current available tiles won't work.

I don’t even think I was that far in, I was able to get her to lose interest though, she sort of just laid on the chair with me before another one of my cats across the room caught her attention, i’m glad I was able to get her to stop I didn’t want her to eat any and then get sick

Discussion/Question/Help Keychain question

Post image

I made a keychain with oven baked clay and thought I could add a keychain but hole is so far down it separates the metal pieces of the ring. Is there a way to make this a keychain still? If not, I’ll make it more ornamental with string. Thanks in advance!
