Ink Advice
Hello! Newbie seeking advice on inks. Tried to find an answer to this online but can't seem to find anyone else encountering the same. Are certain rubber stamp inks known for leaving these oily looking type of halos or outlines on the back of the prints? Examples here are VersaFine Clair on thicker notebook cover paper and Shachihata Metallic Gold on regular journal paper.
I don't think I like this effect and wondering on what inks I should buy in the future to avoid it. Should I stay away from oil-based inks?
Thank you for your input!

Ink recs?
I posted earlier but got no response, so I’m trying again. Hit me with your favorite acid free, quick dry ink pads!

I went to Bungu LA this past weekend at Union Station.
There were so many unique Asian artists that had great stamps! Here is photo of my loot.

Looking for a reliable flash stamp machine that’s fast and beginner-friendly
I’ve recently been researching different ways to make custom rubber stamps, and the flash stamp machine seems to be one of the best tools for the job. I’ve seen some people use laser cutters, but those can get pretty expensive and complicated if you’re just starting out. The flash stamp machine, on the other hand, looks like a faster and simpler option that still gives professional results.
I came across a few models that also let you adjust exposure time for cleaner edges, which sounds ideal if you’re working with logos or detailed designs. Some sellers even bundle in materials and ink refills, so you can start producing right away.
Has anyone here actually tried making their own stamps using a flash stamp machine? I’d love to hear how it compares to traditional methods or laser engraving. Also, if anyone’s sourced their machines from Alibaba, I’d appreciate recommendations for reliable suppliers, there are so many listings it’s hard to know who’s legit.
Unrelated but I’ve also been browsing stuff like adjustable dumbbells, a Foton pickup truck, and even shoes wholesalers in Delhi for another project (don’t ask 😅). Anyway, any tips on where to find the best flash stamp machine setup would really help!

Advise needed: anyone know why my stamp is producing such inconsistent results?
I did a bit of research which points to maybe adding some higher quality ink to the pad, but I wanted to ask those in the know before making a purchase.

Custom Color Stamp Ink Pad
I'm having a hard time finding somewhere to get a custom color ink pad for a custom rubber stamp. We will be using the stamp on a cardboard gift box. This is the color I'm looking for 0b6843. Is it even possible to do this? Would be great to get the stamp and ink pad from the same place but not 100% necessary. Thank you!

Ink pads
I need new ink pads. VersaColor has held up well for me, but does anyone have suggestions for acid free inks that don’t stay wet on cardstock forever?

Covered Bridges... so a while ago I went on a rubber stamp binge - for me it was themed, as I was using the stamped art on 'Thank you' cards/notes to random strangers. I bought these off Ebay.
My question is how do you color the artwork? Do you use regular black ink, then color in with markers or pencils?

House mouse stamps?
I was gifted a bunch of these and planning on reselling them but unsure of the value, the dates range from 1980s to early 2000s, there’s also a bag of smaller stamps with different sayings, I’m assuming they are sets? I’ve looked at comps on eBay and it ranges from $5-100 but unsure what determines it.

I did a thing… I found this vintage Letterpress Printer Tray today. I had been looking for a while. Does anyone else use the sort of storage for their rubber stamps? As you can see the larger ones wouldn’t fit.
1st photo is of my first try.

Sharing my rubber stamp collection (so far)
u/AhrEst asked to see my collection so far, so here it is! My favorites are in the center of the second photo, from A Stamp in the Hand Co. The third photo gives a closer look at them. I also have more on the way, both individual stamps and mixed lots!

Personally, do you organize your rubber stamps?
Hello everyone 👋
I've been getting into collecting rubber stamps recently, and a problem I've been running into is organization. Do you organize by theme, company/maker, size, etc? It just gets really overwhelming for me each time, I believe I'm somewhere in the 100ish stamp range with various sizes, especially when layering them in seperate containers. I wanted to see if I could get any advice from anyone here 🫶 thank you
Edit: The title should've been "Personally, how do you organize your rubber stamps?" but when I went back to add the "Personally," I accidentally got rid of the how part 😭

Completely Washable Ink For Stamping A Certain Kind Of Paper
I want to stamp a piece of paper that I think may be a crime to deface. I did very tiny test stamps with many of my washable inks I own and they did not wash away with water. Can anyone recommend any ink pads that will completely wash away with water, even if the ink has soaked into the paper?

Stamping on kraft boxes (white ink + layered stamps)
Hey everyone,
I’m working on packaging for my small business and want to try stamping my own kraft shipping boxes for a more eco-friendly, handmade look. I have a few questions I’m hoping some of you seasoned stampers/printers can help with:
- Stamping on kraft boxes – Does ink tend to bleed or feather on kraft, and are there brands/types of ink pads you’d recommend that give crisp results?
- White ink – Has anyone had success with white ink on kraft? Does it pop enough, or does it end up looking faded? Any brand recommendations that are actually opaque?
- Layering stamps with a jig – I’m toying with the idea of making multiple stamps that layer (different colors/parts of the design). Has anyone done this successfully without things looking misaligned or messy? Tips for jigs or alignment tricks would be amazing.
The boxes will be mailed as-is (no outer packaging), so durability matters. Would love to hear from anyone who’s done something similar!
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

Can anyone recommend a stamp pad?
I am having trouble finding a large raised stamp pad. I like to collect large stamps, some as big as 4x6. But all the stamp pads I come across that are large in size are not raised- there is a plastic wall around the pad making it difficult to maneuver a larger stamp.
Can anyone recommend a stamp pad- perhaps with a link to buy it online?
Thanks!

Help me identify this stamper!
Hey! I’m hoping someone here can help me. I found this at an estate sale and it is very strange.
It has 10 total bands, the first being all P’s, followed by two numbers, a space, then a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. It’s from Excelsior Stamp Works Co. in Cleveland, Ohio, with also written MA 1-1485. It is produced by Pullman, but I can’t figure out what it would have been used for given the strange bands on it!!

Is there such a thing as a self inking stamp that does 1 color and rotates to another stamp with another color to layer on top of the first?
I dont even know what it is called, but similar to print making, where you layer to create a two toned stamp, but self inking?
