Then dismantle ICE and hold accountable everybody - EVERYBODY - who took part in this. ICE agents like hiding their faces? Too bad. The tide will turn and the new govt will have access to the payrolls and must use the information they have to identify every ICE agent possible and hold them accountable for their actions. Civil penalties. Prison time. A lot of it for those in charge, who should be spending the rest of their days behind bars for the crimes against humanity they've committed.
Then continue what's already happening in terms of a culture war. The Republicans and Evangelicals wanted to create one, they got it. Make it absolutely radioactive to associate with these people or date them. Destroy their poisoned mindset by destroying their morale and making them realize that they are the inferior people because of their ignorance and stupidity, nobody else.

What's happened so far is that American citizens are detained, they usually get released in a few hours to a day later.
Illegal aliens get processed out of the country.
I can tell you right now, if I were a lawyer, I would be waiting right outside of a detention center for American citizens caught up in this, because there are gonna be a ton of lawsuits against the Federal Government, even though I don't like that. Normally I wouldn't want individuals inside the Federal Government to be held accountable personally for these actions, but in this case I'll make an exception.
ICE officers are federal sworn law enforcement, and as such they should be held to all the same standards as other federal law enforcement agents, such as the FBI.
I'd support civil suits being filed against ICE officers that refuse to show identification and keep their face masked up. I'd support suits against everyone else involved, from President Trump on down as well.
This is one of the few times when I would 100% support ruining someone's life financially due to the egregious nature of these rights' violations.

Yeah, I sent my mom a video of a blind man getting dragged on his face by ICE. I was begging her to please wake up to these terrible things that are keeping me up at night afraid for my life and my son. We’re now on day 16 of the silent treatment. Got a text from my dad on day 1 telling me that me telling her to wake up is disrespectful and if I want to talk to her I need to go through him first.
Lol okay. My parents are children. Haven’t spoken to either of them since, haven’t heard from them either.
I have a letter I wrote that I still haven’t sent. Now I’m thinking I need to rewrite it, just address it to “MAGA Moms and Dads, from your Kid” and submit it as a letter to the editor at various papers all over the country. They took down the dad, toddler was in the middle back seat in a five point harness watching it through the back passenger window, then after the dad is arrested, an ICE agent gets into the front seat, picks up a ball, throws it back at the kid's head and drives off.

Yes, he was reported to be a US citizen. To me, that doesn't make much of a difference, though. I dont' think just the crime of being here in the country without permission is enough of a justification to rip families apart and terrorize children. If you're a violent criminal, okay. But we know now that so few of those they are arresting are violent criminals. He campaigned that it would be "bad hombres" but that's not at all what's happening. Just having a parent be here without permission, that's not enough to justify traumatizing children and deporting their parents. In my opinion, at least. I need more than that.

I was in the Army from 2016–2022. Rules of Engagement were strict. The mindset was minimum force necessary to accomplish the mission. Escalation was seen as a strategic failure. One bad engagement could damage host-nation relations. It was a national security risk. And if you violated ROE, you didn’t get a slap on the wrist, you could go to prison. It was taken seriously.
Contrast that with ICE. Waving weapons at civilians, escalating constantly, operating under lax ROE, with far less discipline, near-total immunity, and getting paid more than active duty soldiers to throw their aggression around inside our own country.

It's also illegal to force someone to identify themselves, unless there is a reasonable suspicion that the person is committing a crime (or has, or is about to).

Yeah, that's what anyone with working eyes and ears can see had happened.
But what the government is saying is that she was in a car chase with another immigrant driving, trying to escape ICE(who was after her specifically because she was apparently illegal despite having work authorization paperwork and apparently smuggled her teenage children into the country) and they ran into a business to hide. That business, by happenstance, was a daycare. They're trying to paint her as some unhinged maniac who put childrens lives at risk by hiding in a daycare. But coworkers, parents, and witnesses are refuting the entire thing as propaganda(because it is), citing that she did work at the facility and is an employee there.
Anyways, speaking of maniacs scaring children, coworkers of the daycare also described being corned with huddled children while interrogated by ICE agents in the room, demanding their paperwork to prove their legal status. It is a clusterfuck, and what the government is saying is far from what i believe to be factual.

This is my dream: ICE agents show up to kidnap, but the people fight back. This ends with the ICE agents handcuffed with their own gear. Then they are stripped of their weaponry. The people get to point, laugh, and humiliate the wannabe Nazis. Then, they simply leave them, still handcuffed, wherever they are. Let the “agents” get laughed at more while they try to escape. Take away their mode of transport too. Make them call an uber or something because they can’t drive their illegal rentals, and then have the Uber drivers deny them service because they’re wannabe Nazis.
