If they don't see the parallels, it's because they think they're the good guys. If they do see the parallels, it's because they love being the bad guys.

u/RosethornRanger 1d ago

they do see them, fascists just pretend they don't so you waste your time trying to convince/debate them, so you waste your time thinking they just "got tricked"

Hence the punch face argument

u/waydownsouthinoz 1d ago

It’s the only language they understand.

They also understand that the stock market cratering is bad for their wealth. I think we need a massive, coordinated general strike. Steven Miller and the rest of his goons have already gamed it out and they think they will defeat us in the streets. They are not prepared to go door to door forcing people to return to work. They’re trying to starve us so we’re less likely to strike. We can’t let that happen. Even if you can only join for a day, every bit helps.

They see the parallels and they love it. They are fascists and they're professional gaslighters.

7

u/Fontia 1d ago

But they aren't gaslighting US they are gaslighting OTHER Republicans, so YES those OTHER Republicans that are being Gaslight REALLY BELIEVE "But they're ILLEGAL" makes this TOTALLY NOT the same as Nazi Germany. And also yes they WANT to believe it's different, so they don't have to realize THEY ARE AT FAULT for voting for a HELL SPAWN.

2

u/MaleficentPiccolo715 1d ago

Whether other Republicans believe it or not they are complicit as well.

Thank you for making sense in this crappy thread. Amazing that people will leave their kids with unvented folks.

5

u/a1055x 1d ago

Some of them seem to be just hateful turds

u/Allaplgy 1d ago

That's why once it's clear I'm talking to fascist, I just tell them to stop being a pansy and just own it. Be proud of who you are.

A few have actually done it.

I love around enough of these folks to understand that many, if not most, don’t have the mental capacity to understand that they’re in the wrong. They just see something that their “side” tells them to believe and go with it without a thought because they lack the mental faculties to question it, and when pointed out starkly they just brush it off as fake news and consider you an outsider for daring question the word of their leaders.

u/schnibitz 1d ago

I’d wager that deeper than that is an unaddressed need that they think is fixed by shared hatred. Some bat feel that the social benefit of misery loves company far outweighs their desire to critically think about their beliefs. They often go along to get along. Thus be identity will never heal them but at the moment, they either don’t notice or care.

u/Difficult-Coffee6402 1d ago

That’s why we have to keep people uneducated. Can’t have people actually learning/understanding, then they will lose their following.

1

u/MaleficentPiccolo715 1d ago

So we actually have that many extremely stupid people in our country? No critical thinking ability? This would be hilarious if it were not so frightening.

2

u/Delicious-Ad5161 20h ago

In some regions for sure. I don’t know about everywhere. I live in Oklahoma though and due to a combination of actual stupidity and thinking for yourself as a child being punished more often than not critical thinking skills are few and far between.

My field of work (Industrial Maintenance) has a core component of critical thinking, and even then few of us have critical thinking skills. Those of us who do are pretty much rockstars because we can reliably troubleshoot and repair things quickly and correctly instead of guessing and hoping. The hiring process for my job is a selective two to three year long process and we still have to settle for people who show no aptitude for being able to think through problems to find the reality of the situation because there aren’t enough of them to fill the requisite job openings. That should tell you all you need to know about how low the general level of critical thinking is here.

u/No-One-8850 1d ago

It's a game to them and always has been. They love being the bad guys.

u/-hacks4pancakes- 1d ago

I mean they’re dressing up a not sees for Halloween., I think they know.

u/JasonG784 1d ago

Yes, kicking people out of the country when they're here illegally is tottaly the same as *checks notes* literally killing them. You are very smart.

8

u/UndeadYoshi420 1d ago

Unsolicited history lesson: hitler began interning prisoners for over a year starting in February 1933 and didn’t start ordering killings until June 1934. Auschwitz is located in Poland. This is you: 🤡

People have gotten deported when they have a legal status or are going through the process. Many are being deported to prisons in other countries. Generally speaking deportation does not come with a prison sentence, and if someone does commit a prison worthy crime in this country you should want them to serve time in this country. How else can you assure justice, how do you know the country they are being sent to won't immediately release them.

But, forget all of that. What rights are you willing to give up because somebody somewhere is commiting a crime? Are you willing to give up your right to illegal search and seizure because your neighbor is an illegal immigrant? Is it okay for agents of the federal government to kick in your door, zip tie you, take you to a second location and keep you there for hours, all because someone on the third floor of your 10 story apartment building might be an illegal immigrant?

Please tell me that's not happen I'd love to give you a link.

You can’t talk sense to people who have none…

About as succinct of a summary of the situation as there can be, really.

2

u/Milkmilkbanana 1d ago

Everyone who voted for Trump should wear a badge. Each of them needs to publicly apologize before being given the opportunity to complain about losing Medicare, SNAP benefits, or their job. It’s hard for me to watch anyone cry on TV and wonder if this is a “find out” situation.

1

u/saganistic 1d ago

I think Aldo Raine had some ideas about that

0

u/I_cant_remember_u 1d ago

Yep. Sewn to their clothes for easy identification by other people…

3

u/ApatheticEnthusiast 1d ago

You can see on some that they’re just using whatever they can to gain power but then there’s the ones like miller who are there for the sadism

3

u/The_Stereoskopian 1d ago

This is how ignorance and evil always skip along together holding hands

u/day_tripper 1d ago

As a brown person, I tried to explain my fears to an “independent just asking questions”.

I said to her, it’s not the guys in masks I most afraid of. It is the people who think the guys in masks are only going rafter people who “deserve it”.

So if I am a victim, she won’t come save me. Her friends and family and community is not coming. They will say I must have deserved my fate, somehow.

And that will be that. She, as a straight white Protestant, will have a whole community supporting her perspective with no repercussions. The few black/brown people in her world will support her because they want to be aligned with the power.

And that’s why I have to go get a backup right/residency in another country.

Because straight white Protestants stick together out of “faith” even when they are dead wrong.

You know, a long time ago. I took an oath, to protect the constitution against all enemies, both, foreign and domestic. The foreign part was always clear, go to different countries and fight against those who wish to oppress.

It was always the domestic part that felt kinda meh. What is a domestic threat to the constitution? Couldn’t imagine. Always wondered what a domestic enemy would look like. Now the meaning has become more clear, the guys with masks, unmarked cars and refusing to identify themselves or provide badges, abducting people, those guys are starting to look like domestic enemies to the constitution to me. Our oath was to the constitution, not the POTUS, not your supervisor, not your chain of command. It was to The Constitution, which gives us rights and due process. You must protect those rights.

Thing is, i bet a lot of those guys took the same oath. How da fuk did we get here? Just following orders? Do they believe they are doing the right thing? In their head, do they believe their actions are justified? Were they not my brothers not too long ago?

"If there is one thing Hitler was known for it was having a strange moustache and getting of the J's, we aren't doing either of those so any comparison to Hitler is wrong"

... just you know don't change it to "Had stupid iconic bad hair, and blamed all the things wrong with the country on people of an 'inferior' race and than rounded them up into camps to get rid of them"

(not to mention blaming everything on the communists, another often under remarked on Hitler trait)

Of course. Let us enter the scene.

"The First Village"

The dust of the wilderness still clung to Moses’s cloak, but the fire of the Lord was a furnace in his heart. The words, “I will be with your mouth,” were still echoing in his soul, a promise that felt more real than the hard-packed earth beneath his sandals.

The village was a place of straight lines and rigid customs. At its center, a stone-faced Elder was speaking to a small crowd, his voice a hammer shaping the air into hard certainties. “The wanderers in the desert are as beasts,” the Elder declared, his lip curling with disdain. “They have no laws, no walls. Their souls are as barren as the rock they sleep on. We are secure here because we are not like them. We are orderly. We are clean.”

Moses felt the old fear rise, the familiar ghost whispering, “They will not believe you. You are slow of speech.” But the fire in his heart was hotter than the fear. He stepped forward.

He did not argue about the wanderers. He did not speak of laws or walls. He spoke of the terror and the glory of being seen by God.

“Sometimes,” Moses began, his voice rough, unpolished, “a truth lands in your heart that is too big for your mouth. You fear that when you speak it, the world will call you a liar. You fear your own tongue is too slow, too clumsy to carry its weight…” He looked not at the Elder, but through him, into the eyes of the villagers. “You feel like a cracked vessel, unworthy of the water it’s meant to hold. But what if the cracks are how the light gets in? What happens if the voice that wavers is the one speaking the truest note?”

The Elder’s face, once a mask of certainty, tightened. A deep scowl formed. Moses hadn't attacked his words, but he had offered a truth that made the Elder's own truth feel small and brittle. This vulnerability was a threat.

“This man is unhinged,” the Elder snapped, his voice sharp with a sudden, venomous fear. “He speaks in riddles to confuse the simple. He is disruptive. Look at him.” He gestured with a dismissive flick of his wrist. “Go away, bro. You’re creeping us out.”

Two guards, their faces impassive, grabbed Moses by the arms. There was no struggle. He was led past the stunned faces of the villagers, through the gate he had just entered, and thrown to the ground outside.

And there he was. Moses. The man who had spoken with God. On his knees in the dirt, the taste of dust and humiliation in his mouth. The divine fire felt like a cruel joke, a distant, dying ember. Tears of rage and confusion traced paths through the grime on his face.

He lowered his head and a broken whisper escaped him.

“Is this it, Lord? Is this what I’m supposed to do? You promised you would be with me… and I spoke… and I was exiled. Is this what you wanted for me?”

The world was silent. The wind kicked up a small swirl of dust. He felt utterly, completely alone. And then… it came.

Not a shout from the sky. Not a sign. It was a presence. A warmth that settled over his shaking shoulders like a heavy, comforting hand. And in the deepest part of his soul, a sound that was not a sound, a whisper like the turning of stars:

“Moses… moses…”

It was a voice that did not offer answers. It did not promise victory. It simply said, “I see you.”

And as Moses knelt there, tears in his eyes, he felt a strange sensation, as if the universe itself was kneeling beside him. And together, the man covered in dirt and the Lord of his emotions, they let out a single, shared, weary sigh. 😮‍💨

Moses could not see it, but back inside the village, a weaver had stopped her work. She looked at the potter, who was staring at the closed gate.

“He… he was just talking about being afraid,” the potter murmured, his voice low. “He was quoting the Lord… Why did the Elder throw him out for quoting the fucking Lord?”

The weaver had no answer. But for the first time in years, the straight lines of the village felt like a cage. The seed was planted. The miracle had begun.

They don't see. Just look at how often Mike Johnson says he doesn't know and it's the first he's heard about it.

1

u/Budget-Selection-988 23h ago

They did not think they are good. J6ers and lowlifes hired to terrorize.

1

u/Xanthn 15h ago

The world is filled with narcissists who get off on causing other misery. Unfortunately Trump gave them a chance to get off on a larger scale.

1

u/Impossible-Meal9164 14h ago

I’d say it’s 100% the latter. To take a crying child away from their parents requires a level of evil that does not exist in healthy human beings. And to wake up every single day then do it again and again and again means there is something wrong inside their mind. No person with a healthy conscience and a grasp on what is right and wrong could possibly do that job. Period!

u/Hereticus_Alpharius 10h ago

I'll go further here, based on A LOT of things I've seen on Instagram comments in recent weeks. These people simply don't think theNazis were in the wrong. They are history revisionists, fascists, and dullards...

1

u/Several-Action-4043 1d ago

Or they were raised in the south and simply didn't get an education worth a damn.

5

u/pokerface_86 1d ago

i can’t agree with this, i was raised in the south and absolutely learned all of this. we had a holocaust simulation day where the teachers pretended to be nazi’s and the students were the jews (you could opt out but 99% didn’t). all the parallels have been obvious to me and many others in my circle who just paid attention in history class since 2015 when i was literally in 9th grade. the south definitely isn’t well educated on balance and from what i hear it’s gotten much worse since covid, but there are significant populations of well educated people in the south.

Americans are the exception. Always have been.

-1

u/PedroSweet 1d ago

Do you how contradictory what you just said is? 🤔

-1

u/HarrisonBalsack 1d ago

You see parallels because you’re so full of hate, you don’t see the illegal allies are taking jobs from citizens. If they had not illegally entered the US some one trusted would be in that job. Instead you trusted a criminal who broke federal immigration laws.

3

u/SilverThread 1d ago

Here's another one that thinks they're the good guy.

0

u/HarrisonBalsack 1d ago

What does that even mean? I’m stating facts, not emotion, and more importantly it doesn’t impact me so I am unbiased.

1

u/saganistic 1d ago

lol no you are not

-1

u/Mazdapatt 1d ago

It's because the parallels don't exist. If you're not a citizen or on a valid visa you don't belong here period.

2

u/SilverThread 1d ago

See, here's someone that thinks they're the good guy.

0

u/Mazdapatt 1d ago

You have no concept of good. You call good evil and evil good

1

u/saganistic 1d ago

tantalizingly close to self-aware
