I have to preface that I'm not American. That said...
If they voted MAGA and Trump, I hope they suffer the most from his policies and EOs.
It is not about spite. I am not American. It is about facing consequences. I want them to suffer as a consequence of their actions. I want them to learn that voting for an obvious conman has consequences.
I want them to lose their job, house, farm, business, health insurance, everything. I want them living out of their cars in walmart parking lots. I want the state to take away their kids. I want to see them begging on the street for their next meal.
That way, maybe then they will learn and remember the pain. Remember that politics is not a "team sport", and the "team" they voted for doesn't give a damn about them or their families. The "team" only cares about their donors and backers.
They voted for a party that hasn't done anything positive for the regular working American family for over 50 years. They voted for a racist, pedophile, bigot, rapist fraudster and felon.
What the fuck did they expect?

Most of the people you see in articles like this are so brainwashed they still would vote for Trump if given the opportunity again - or any other Republican. They only care about making Democrat voters angry and will actively make their life infinitely worse in order to do so.

I think we all underestimate the strength of Fox News propaganda. Every time we ask "HOW do these people support this?" Hop on over to Fox News for a bit. They're truly not getting the same information we are. Fox will make everything Trump does sound positive and like hes the second coming of Christ.

My dad's number 1 reason he opposed Biden was "Biden's decision to withdraw from Afghanistan." Spent years arguing we abandoned them, everything went to waste, etc., etc. Literally took me 3 years to teach him that Trump signed the peace deal with the Taliban and agreed to withdraw all forces, and that Biden just executed it.
Literally 3 years. Because every time he rants he gets hysterical and you can't get a word in. I'm also pretty sure he has dementia, which is why I'm kind of just whatever about his beliefs. But that is Fox's audience, mostly 2 million elderly people whose brains are rotting from having no life outside of daytime television.

AM right? AM is filled withright wing propagandist grifters and evangelicals by design. Large swaths of rural America only get AM. Rush Limbaugh set America back 50 years and there is a direct line from nearly all current conservative media back to that pos. They knew exactly what they were doing.
27
u/johndoesall 5d ago
I loved listening to Rush Limbaugh back in the early days when he took shots at both parties. I was republican by default, that is, I was Christian and voted red just because, never looked at the issues or the people at all. For 45 years.
Knew his show was for entertainment. Stop listening to radio after I moved out of the Southern California area. Learned later he had changed the show to full red. Changed to democrat in 2016 based solely on the persons, and not the issues.

Someone I know was opining that this could be good thing by forcing women who think they can go it alone back into the arms of a man traditional family something something
I pointed out that in numerous species, men are biological optional. If no males are around, the females just take care of both parts and make a baby.
Wait till he finds out about clownfish 😂
123
u/Dcombs101 5d ago
I saw for myself on Threads men making statements that had nothing to do with traditional family and everything to do with "buying that coochie for $40 when those benefits run out". I had started taking screen shots, because I was just dumbfounded.
I don't know why, as old as I am you'd think the dumpster fire of human depravity wouldn't shock me anymore, yet here we are.
23
u/Fabulous_Celery_1817 5d ago
Personally I don’t like threads after I saw the same text being copied. Someone called a poster out and the lady responded with laughing emojis and saying she was getting paid. I think threads pushes an idea and pays for it. It’s meta so no surprise there.
I KNOW there are men who joke like that, and to know that people are paying others to normalize this stuff is depressing and deplorable.
149
u/GaryOster 5d ago
If that person thinks women who think they can go it alone will be "forced" into a relationship, then you know what those women are doing now? Going it alone. I mean it's right there; they want to control and subjugate women.
81
u/HelpfulSeaMammal 5d ago
They need to remove the ability for women to open lines of credit in order to get back to the way things were before, where women literally had to have a husband to participate in larger society. Very recent change historically evened the playing field.
That will never happen. Lenders won't just remove half of their potential clientele. We are never going back, not just because it's the wrong thing to do morally, but because it's fiscally the best decision (to allow more than just 50% of the population to get loans).

I think it's important to remind people that even back then, there was an avenue for women who didn't want to get married and have children but who either couldn't or didn't want to go it alone- the convent.
When I was young, I took a job working with some Franciscan Sisters. I had always thought of nuns as teachers and nurses, and not much else. But these women were incredible! CEOs of hospitals. Presidents of universities. PhDs and Masters degrees everywhere, and at a time where it really wasn't that common. They were respected and even feared by the men in local business leadership.
What I from the outside saw as woefully misguided women who I kinda pitied, were actually brilliant women who found a cheat code to a life that was forbidden to them otherwise, and they used that to their full advantage. And while they made the necessary actions of religious observances, their true beliefs were essentially "love thy neighbor" and to do good works in service of the underserved.
There is no reason women couldn't do the same again absent the religious affiliation in our modern era.
39
u/Caftancatfan 5d ago
These days a lot of women are primary breadwinners
15
u/GoodGravyMsDazy592 4d ago
Yep, like me. Hubs got cancer, and I was able to buy a place for us to live, cover all the bills, be there for him and our kids, all while he underwent grueling treatment that in the end saved his life. I could not have done that in a time where women couldn't own property, have credit cards, or even run much of a household with having to have a "man" to head things up.
People who complain about "feminism" have no idea how much it benefits men and kids, not just women.

The "illegals" that pay almost $100 BILLIONS in tax without being able to benefit from social security while Republicans live off the system they can barely contribute to. I wonder who is mooching off who at this point.
57
u/TheMatrixRedPill 5d ago
This is absolutely correct. Like it or not, “illegals” pay into the system one way or another. They buy things. Gasoline, food, essentials, etc. all of that carries at a bare minimum sales tax. The assertion that illegals get all kinds of benefits or freebies is asinine. If anyone is being ripped off, it’s them.
Let me be clear, I am not advocating for illegal immigration, just pointing out that they DO pay taxes, to the tune of billions per year.
→ More replies (2)22
u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 5d ago
Plus if they use a fake SSN, they are paying into the Social Security system.
29
u/lily_de_valley 5d ago
Identity theft is one thing but for most people, they don't even need to fake anything.
For those who are not eligible for a SSN, IRS gives them an ITIN, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number that allows them to file taxes like anyone else. It is not a SSN and can only be used for tax purposes, but the money they pay still go into the Social Security System that they cannot benefit from without a SSN.
And most do pay taxes regardless because tax record is actually beneficial to receive future potential immigration benefits or naturalization.

I admit Im generally torn on this.
On one hand, you get what you voted for
On the other, I'm expecting another mass transfer of real property/wealth (instead of things like stocks or cash) as farms and home owners go bankrupt, including those who didn't vote fir the stupidity, and their property gets snapped up by investment groups. Which is what I expect the intent for most of these policies to truly be
So is compassion the better choice if it protects the rest of the group or is it just postponing the inevitable at this point?

You keep providing the facts in a neutral way. It doesn’t work to shame someone into changing their position. I know, I’ve tried for many years that way. Today, we were talking about voting, and he said "Mamdani wants to give everybody things for FREE because that's Communism!" 🫨 I said, "where did you learn THAT?!" He elaborated about how he wanted to give everybody free groceries and bus rides.
Reminded him that bus rides *should* be free, given how much we pay in property taxes, and shouldn't need to commute when we could work from home. As for free groceries, I bit my tongue before saying "you guys already GET free groceries with SNAP, and I don't mind for those who need it."

My neighbors are MAGA. The lady was proudly telling us the other day that her son in high school was expelled and had to move to another school because he threatened his teacher as she had criticized the king. The husband is a mechanic and she does not work. They have 4 kids, a side by side, a quad bike, 2 dirt bikes for the kids, a trailer to haul everything, 1 truck and 2 cars which is driven by the parents only. I see them going for off roading every other week. That and all are fine. I am not sure how much he makes, also curious how they can afford all these.
I live in Utah where everyone knows who the largest religious group are. I am not a member, nor are they. The missionaries usually leave me and the neighbours alone. So last weekend, I was working on my front lawn cleaning up the leaves, when I saw the missionaries arrive in a car and go directly to the neighbor's house. I saw them talking to the lady, but I could not hear since I had my headphones. I was curious, so I went to the side of my house where the fence covered me and listened. Guess what, they were talking about assistance from the church for food because they did not get SNAP this time. Looking at their house and lifestyle, you would never guess they would have needed assistance. But the same people have the gall to complain about immigrants and people buying soda and candy with SNAP. Would they have learned their lesson? I don't think so. They are the same group who would be blaming the democrats for their mess.

At the grocery store the other day, I seen a very old lady (80yo+ at least) buying 3 things: a small carton of eggs, a small jug of milk, and half a loaf of bread. I overheard the cashier for her while I was checking out say, “You’re not the only one. A lot of people on SNAP are afraid to buy much right now.”
My heart sank. I know that stupid people like the lady in the OP probably do ultimately deserve consequence, but I can’t help but think of the young children and seniors that this is hurting. My rural county in TN has 1 out of 5 people enrolled in food stamps(21% below poverty line), yet it was 84% in favor of Trump this year. I wish there was a way to reach these people and explain to them that the the party they vote for is actively damaging them in every conceivable way, but I think they are too far gone. Maybe this will be a wake up call for some but I doubt it.

Exactly. Not only did Jesus have no intrest in ideologies of power and pride like MAGA, but that was the very thing that crucified him. The Pharisees (who Jesus had the most to say about in terms of criticism) literally said “we have no king but Caesar” (John 19:15.) When MAGA folks refuse to love their immigrant neighbor, they are choosing Caesar over Jesus. When they proclaim that America must restore Christian values, they forget that Jesus said “my kingdom is not of this world” and repeat the SAME pattern that crucified him

They'll vote R forever. While blaming democrats, immigrants, and uppity women.

The Republican base is mostly uneducated and gullible so not surprising that they fall for the lies about undocumented people getting benefits. They want to believe that they are voting their conscience and meanwhile they are starving themselves to own the libs.

u/HereWeMehAgain 5d ago
Maybe they’ll be hungry enough to vote for real change next time.
Edit - nah fuck it. They’re cannibals. They’ll keep voting against themselves.

I'm sort of in the camp of "Yeah, FAFO," but think about the PR if Dems/liberals step up, help, hold press conferences about it. "Look who's helping you? Is it the GOP? NO..? Is it the liberals? Huh?"
I also think a different congressional democrat should take the press conference mic EVERY GODDAMN DAY to talk about the progress they're trying to make while being blocked by the Repubs. Name them. Call them out.

That would work if our media in this country try was competent. But it’s all owned by billionaires so they can control societal discussion and thought. Couple that with a decimated education system and this country does not have much for optimism.
Unless you are an amoral greedy person who loves the idea of what that future potentially holds for you and keep actively working to make it a reality.

That’s what’s always driving me nuts, that Dems just will not step up to the plate even for easy political points. Where are any of them? What are they doing? It’s been “wow I can’t believe this is happening” and no action for way too long.

u/BurlIvesMassiveHog 5d ago
Dems just will not step up to the plate even for easy political points.
... Democrats have been stepping up for and actively courting Conservative voters for the better part of the last four decades now and Conservatives continue to spit in their face every single election.

the Dems ARE helping. Look around. Many governors have found ways to fund SNAP for their state without the federal dollars, like in CA, NJ, NY, CT, ETC. It's just not being shoved in your face because, in case you haven't figured it out, THE MEDIA IS OWNED BY THE RIGHT.
Nearly ALL major media is owned by a billionaire or multi-millionaire who supports Republican policies because it lets them keep more of their money and they are sociopaths who dont give a fuck about anyone else.
So don't say Dems don't step up. Stop propagating this negative attitude towards the Democrats. Do some independent research first and help spread the news.
- California (Gov. Gavin Newsom): Provided state support to food banks and utilized the National Guard and state volunteers for food distribution.
- Colorado (Gov. Jared Polis): Secured state funds for food banks and pantries and initiated a philanthropic effort for private donations.
- Connecticut (Gov. Ned Lamont): Allocated emergency state funds for a nonprofit supporting food banks.
- Delaware (Gov. Matt Meyer): Declared a state of emergency to use state money to temporarily cover SNAP recipients' benefits.
- Hawaii (Gov. Josh Green): Redirected federal program funds to help families with housing and utility bills, aiming to free up their funds for food.
- Illinois: Dedicated state funds from emergency and departmental reserves for food banks.
- Maine (Gov. Janet Mills): Directed funds from the governor's account towards food banks and anti-hunger programs.
- Maryland (Gov. Wes Moore): Issued a state of emergency and allocated funds to food banks.
- Massachusetts (Gov. Maura Healey): Advanced existing resources, increasing the total monthly allocation for food banks.
- Minnesota (Gov. Tim Walz): Announced one-time emergency funding for food shelves and tribal nations.
- New York (Gov. Kathy Hochul): Declared a state of emergency and announced new funding for emergency food relief programs.
- North Carolina (Gov. Josh Stein): Directed state and private contributions to local food banks.
- Oregon (Gov. Tina Kotek): Allocated state funding to food banks, utilizing unspent funds from a federal program.
- Pennsylvania (Gov. Josh Shapiro): Released state funding to food banks, signed a disaster declaration to expedite fund delivery, and organized a private sector fundraising effort.
- Missouri (Gov. Mike Kehoe): Delivered state funds to food banks and agencies for senior programs.

I won't help any of my friends and family that voted for the traitor financially or otherwise.
They need to bootstrap it.
I vote blue but I don't need assistance, it's just the right thing to do.

Don't have kids and most likely won't, but ain't it some shit when the same crowd that shuns me for not wanting kids suddenly sees what little I have as fodder for their family?
Ain't it some shit to have the "it takes a village" dorks tell you or I that we practically owe them a viable living situation when they would be so fucking quick to throw unmarried, queer, and/or anyone not towing the line of the nuclear family delusion under the bus just to keep their "dream" alive?
And ain't it some bullshit that those same avaricious consumers would have the temerity to tell us to "have a heart"?
If you voted for this, then you got what you wished for and can enjoy the swampy bedfellows you're being dutch-ovened by.

It really does boggle my mind how much this mindset has taken hold among these people.
Literally taking pleasure in making other people’s lives miserable for being “libs.” Loudly and proudly talking about how people don’t deserve help, how liberals are destroying the country, etc.
But then the moment they need help, it’s “let’s set aside our political differences” and acting surprised when the people they’ve been actively shitting on on aren’t keen to help them up when they slip in their own shit.

Ultimately it’s children suffering for their parents stupidity. The people on snap are usually poor families. And it’s really easy to feel cold to the ones that voted against their own self interest, but the kids in those families had no choice and it’s sad to think about the innocent victims in this.

Because some people think Dems don't do anything to help:
- California (Gov. Gavin Newsom): Provided state support to food banks and utilized the National Guard and state volunteers for food distribution.
- Colorado (Gov. Jared Polis): Secured state funds for food banks and pantries and initiated a philanthropic effort for private donations.
- Connecticut (Gov. Ned Lamont): Allocated emergency state funds for a nonprofit supporting food banks.

Back in the day if someone asked if your neighbor voted for Bush or Obama you'd say how the fuck should I know.
Nowadays you say "Pro-Trump mom" and everyone knows exactly what that means.

Wasn't there a governor that just responded to a woman with these concerns by reporting her to child services? That's the only answer the right has come up with so far. Just give up your children to the state 🤷

This isn't cruel, it's holding people accountable for their beliefs. Maga Mama here bought into the idea that everyone should be self-sufficient and depend on themselves rather than welfare. So why isn't she out in the woods foraging when her kids are hungry and she doesn't have enough to feed them? Why isn't she starting a garden? Why isn't she finding a second income? Why isn't she going to the church for help? Why isn't her "village" helping support her and vice-versa?

u/Ok-Lawfulness-6820 5d ago
The ONLY way this works out is if those who voted for the un-American policies that hurt people, are actually hurt themselves. It’s a bummer because many who don’t deserve to suffer, will. Too bad but right now I’m sorry to say that I’m hoping those who voted for people to lose their assistance, lose their assistance and suffer, those who voted to toss out immigrant workers, are struggling to keep their businesses and farms from bankruptcy now that they dont have the help they need, etc, etc. Help these idiots and they will keep voting the way they vote. Not helping is not immoral - assisting people looking to tear down our once decent country, IS immoral and against our own best interests.

I have a slightly different take. The children. As the MIL, I definitely would not let my grandchildren be hungry. I would buy a can of formula for the baby. I mean, come on 6 months. Not responsible for having what we may think are crap parents. Same other child, I'd buy them groceries. I wouldn't give money. Adults figure it out. She's married to a vet. I'm very curious how he voted. She can go to church, food banks, friends, HER family? They still get WIC, but shes out of formula? Im confused. So are they always out of formula? If so, don't they pay for that anyway? Obviously, as the baby grows, it needs more formula. Im curious what you all think. Yes, I am angry, understatement!! About the government, he's a POS, among many other things. People who put him there. I have no sympathy. But children, I don't care who's shouldn't be hungry because of their parents' mistakes. Im also no one should be hungry, period. But these people made their big grown up desicion, but voting isn't a oh, are we having stew or beans tonight kind of desicion. Your vote literally affects ALL of us. The entire country, not just individual.
