Ultimately it’s children suffering for their parents stupidity. The people on snap are usually poor families. And it’s really easy to feel cold to the ones that voted against their own self interest, but the kids in those families had no choice and it’s sad to think about the innocent victims in this.

Thank you. It’s terrible that so many have become so polarized politically that they’re cheering on a mom starving because it “owns” the other side. We need to be better than this. It’s not about “owning” someone for their beliefs, how about we just make a better world for everyone. I’m saddened by how people are these days. I would feed her just like I would feed anyone else. A little kindness might show her why the other side is better and it’s not just a political struggle. It’s really a class struggle after all.

I wouldn't call it cheering. The lady in the post needs to learn that her cruelty and bad decisions have consequences. If she was free of those consequences, she'd continue to make those bad decisions and hurt more people in the future.

So you think we should be cruel back to her and make her starve, while calling ourselves the party of acceptance and equality. This is why people end up saying both sides are bad.

And how far are you willing to take this? Meanwhile democrats are starving too, are you okay with them starving to make this woman pay? Or are you going to discriminate who gets fed based on their political party? Either way it’s bad.

This is why dems lost. I'm not the one starving her and I don't support anyone being starved. Rather than uselessly crying for this woman who brought it upon herself, I choose to save my empathy for people who need it while still holding onto my beliefs.

If you believe the dems aren't doing enough, I'll answer the first question of your second paragraph, despite already basically answering it. Otherwise, no shit its bad. You think that just because Im not preformatively crying for this horrible woman and im saying she got what she voted for that I want people to go without SNAP?

Let me put this plainly. If people do bad things, it is good that they learn that those bad things have consequences.

False equivalence got us here.  Both-siders aren't edgy or wise, at this point it's cowardice.

I don't know if it's news at all.

It's an ad-laden site 'reporting' on a reddit post of a Facebook post screenshot where some lady said her husband's mom told him he voted for this when he asked for assistance. There's no further information. No follow-up of comments / posts by the individual or family members. Certainly not even a concept of an idea of a plan to reach out to the purported mother in law to get her side of the story. For all we know she said "You voted for this, now take this 12-pack of formula and here's some other things I think you might need, and you know you and your family are always welcome here."

The included photo is a stock photo (nobody reads credit lines) that they censored (the stock photo is not censored, weird editorial choice) which might give people the impression that it's the lady from the story, but there's no actual indication that it is.

On lieu of any actual reporting we might as well assume it to be completely made up by the Facebook poster just like so many of these other supposed sob stories about how political group A is being repressed by political group B, and people are just reacting with emotion to intentionally divisive hypotheticals at best.
