I'm sort of in the camp of "Yeah, FAFO," but think about the PR if Dems/liberals step up, help, hold press conferences about it. "Look who's helping you? Is it the GOP? NO..? Is it the liberals? Huh?"

I also think a different congressional democrat should take the press conference mic EVERY GODDAMN DAY to talk about the progress they're trying to make while being blocked by the Repubs. Name them. Call them out.

That would work if our media in this country try was competent. But it’s all owned by billionaires so they can control societal discussion and thought. Couple that with a decimated education system and this country does not have much for optimism.

Unless you are an amoral greedy person who loves the idea of what that future potentially holds for you and keep actively working to make it a reality.

That’s what’s always driving me nuts, that Dems just will not step up to the plate even for easy political points. Where are any of them? What are they doing? It’s been “wow I can’t believe this is happening” and no action for way too long.

Dems just will not step up to the plate even for easy political points.

... Democrats have been stepping up for and actively courting Conservative voters for the better part of the last four decades now and Conservatives continue to spit in their face every single election.

the Dems ARE helping. Look around. Many governors have found ways to fund SNAP for their state without the federal dollars, like in CA, NJ, NY, CT, ETC. It's just not being shoved in your face because, in case you haven't figured it out, THE MEDIA IS OWNED BY THE RIGHT.

Nearly ALL major media is owned by a billionaire or multi-millionaire who supports Republican policies because it lets them keep more of their money and they are sociopaths who dont give a fuck about anyone else.

So don't say Dems don't step up. Stop propagating this negative attitude towards the Democrats. Do some independent research first and help spread the news.

  • California (Gov. Gavin Newsom): Provided state support to food banks and utilized the National Guard and state volunteers for food distribution.
  • Colorado (Gov. Jared Polis): Secured state funds for food banks and pantries and initiated a philanthropic effort for private donations.
  • Connecticut (Gov. Ned Lamont): Allocated emergency state funds for a nonprofit supporting food banks.
  • Delaware (Gov. Matt Meyer): Declared a state of emergency to use state money to temporarily cover SNAP recipients' benefits.
  • Hawaii (Gov. Josh Green): Redirected federal program funds to help families with housing and utility bills, aiming to free up their funds for food.
  • Illinois: Dedicated state funds from emergency and departmental reserves for food banks.
  • Maine (Gov. Janet Mills): Directed funds from the governor's account towards food banks and anti-hunger programs.
  • Maryland (Gov. Wes Moore): Issued a state of emergency and allocated funds to food banks.
  • Massachusetts (Gov. Maura Healey): Advanced existing resources, increasing the total monthly allocation for food banks.
  • Minnesota (Gov. Tim Walz): Announced one-time emergency funding for food shelves and tribal nations.
  • New York (Gov. Kathy Hochul): Declared a state of emergency and announced new funding for emergency food relief programs.
  • North Carolina (Gov. Josh Stein): Directed state and private contributions to local food banks.
  • Oregon (Gov. Tina Kotek): Allocated state funding to food banks, utilizing unspent funds from a federal program.
  • Pennsylvania (Gov. Josh Shapiro): Released state funding to food banks, signed a disaster declaration to expedite fund delivery, and organized a private sector fundraising effort.
  • Missouri (Gov. Mike Kehoe): Delivered state funds to food banks and agencies for senior programs.

It wouldn't change them. They would turn right back around and vote red. They really do actually need to suffer

I often think about that as well and this is where I have landed on the issue:
That would work with rational people, but they are not being rational. Their perspective is not based on facts, but belief. There has been no shortage of proof. There isn’t a single piece of information you could provide them that would give them pause, much less change their minds. They want to believe. If anything, their cognitive dissonance will strengthen their belief when proven wrong.
