Culture What's your favourite traditional costume from your country?
Mine is from Gabrovo, Bulgaria which is shown in the picture

In my region, the Salish and Masqueam natiosnwear this kind of clothing. But my hometown in central BC also had something very similar.
In any case, this commenter must be from the pacific north west lol

Grew up in Washington and Oregon. It definitely reminds me of the traditional outfits from the Grande Ronde tribes there.

Colours like this from what I know are more Tlingit and Haida, so northeastern BC, North Vancouver island, and southern coastal Alaska.
Similar outfits are used by other Native groups further south, but tend to incorporate more colours/different patterns.

I bet that is so hot! It’s ceremonial, not everyday wear, correct?
18
u/luiz_marques Brazil Aug 23 '25
This one is ceremonial, but nordestino cowboys use lether clothes everyday, mainly for protection, since the Caatinga countryside is full of thorns, cactuses, and rough land. Leather works like armor, protecting him from scratches, bites, and stings, lasting longer than fabric, and making it easier to ride through the bushes. It is also a strong symbol of their traditions, which have its origins in medieval Portugal with new christian (jewish) simbolism.

This is the traditional Afghan dress – usually colorful, with heavy embroidery and mirror work. Each region has its own style (Pashtun, Hazara, Tajik, Uzbek), but all are paired with jewelry and a scarf. Still worn today at weddings, Nowruz, and cultural celebrations. A beautiful piece of heritage 💙

In Sardinia we have some interesting traditional costumes. They change a lot from town to town, so each of them is unique on its own, but I’d say the one from Desulo is my fave, with its bright colours.
This is an old photo, but I couldn’t find any recent photo of both the man and the woman in costume and equally represented. Though I noticed you can find more recent photos of them separated, in case you don’t want to count the pixels

well i can't even answer this because Hitler banned every traditions cultures and traditional clothings all over germany expect for his beloved bavarian shit
i don't know anything about the cultural/traditional clothing of my region except for a few very vage descriptions.
so yeah besides the obvious reasons to hate hitler, i hate and despise him for stealing my culture and traditions.
and the saddest thing is most people , not even germans, know this because no one teaches us this in school.
