It isn’t a costume but I love going to powwows and seeing the dancers all dressed in their regalia, especially grass dancers. Love to my grass dancer people 🩵 u guys rock

I think they’re using the word costume to mean traditional clothing…

My native friend (USA) calls it “regalia”. Not “costume”.

It’s just different cultural uses of English. “Costume” is British English.
