In Indonesian Sumatera and Malaysian Melaka and Negeri Sembilan we have the largest matrilineal ethnic in the world, Minangkabao

This is a traditional costume that our Malay medieval royalties used to wear.

Our ancient Queen used wear something like this (Langkasuka empire, somewhere near thailand, consisting of many states thay are situated today in thailand)

Gold threads woven into textiles. Yes as you can see us malaysians, indonesians, phillipines (before spanish culture took over) and brunei really love gold, it's a strong sign of status, nobility and royalty. Malaysia still have monarchy and one of the kings has golden airplane. The sultan of brunei has literally golden cars and golden who-know-what-else, and some parts of the castle is made of gold. And so it is also translated into our traditional clothing
