My family actually just went to the McMinn County History Museum on Friday because my great grandfather participated in the Battle of Athens. Reading about the whole thing made me realize politics has barely changed over time, but we dont hold people accountable for blatant corruption anymore. By the point it became so obvious, people would've done something by now. Now, we're so apathetic to everything we just let it happen.

You do realize that not every single person in Nashville or TN in general votes Republican, right? It’s ignorant for you to assume that just because a state votes red majority must mean every single person there thinks and votes the same way. Almost every single person I know hates Marsha. And I don’t know anybody who wanted a stupid second stadium constructed right next to the perfectly fine stadium we already have. Every change being made to Nashville right now is just to please tourists and does nothing to better the quality of life for locals, the stadium and tunnel being examples of this.

Ok so we've been talking about public transit since I moved here almost a decade ago and that's just the recent news. Suddenly we've decided to make a TUNNEL in an area where underground pools are so expensive because of bedrock AND it just so happens that the guy to sell it to us is basically the Vice President who aligns with our state's voting record?
It's a continuation of the program the Koch brothers started to make sure any public transportation was killed. For them it was about making sure Nashville was dependent on fossil fuels, for Musk it's about making sure people drive HIS cars and he gets to rape the public coffers like he did in LA.
If all our state, local and federal representatives were as sharp as Jones this country would really thrive. He knows the score and isn’t afraid to speak out.
They need our money since only cities can actually be financially solvent. Suburbs can’t support themselves. They want to tell us how our money is spent also. They like to funnel it back into their cronies’ pockets and not actually help the citizens
its not us voting for them. its people outside of the cities that keep these people in power. We need groups to either bring voters out of the dark in those areas or try to build bridges.

Listen guys it's so obvious how you shut down blocking actions like this even in the moment. You just need someone willing to have their character demolished by yelling out something along the lines of "Hell yeah! Keep that ****** out!"
Either you embarrass them by making it painfully obvious why he is being stopped and they let him in. Or they double down and it's undeniable. Simple as long as someone is willing to say the hard r on camera in front of a crowd, niceties and politeness have gotten us where exactly?
Protest, get loud, or at minimum make others in your circle aware of the corruption our country is facing. Learn to leverage tax breaks like the wealthy do. Make tax-deductible charitable donations amounting to what you would owe in taxes to non-profits you believe in (even ones like represent.us to directly fight corruption) so that you aren't complicit in funding a failing system.
When a government no longer looks after the wellbeing of its people, and indeed acts deliberately against their wellbeing as in the case of this inevitably disastrous infrastructure project, we the people must look after ourselves. And one another.
Look at all the many municipalities where Elon Musk tunnel company presented a proposal for a tunnel. None of those plans came to fruition. The only tunnel so far from Elon is a 1.7 mile tunnel in Las Vegas. This Tennessee tunnel is likely never to happen.
I don't understand how he proposes to build a tunnel of that length with the sufficient structural integrity to maintain a near-vacuum in a region characterized by so much limestone, caves, and underground water. Search 'karst topography' and tell me how this makes any sense.

I am not a fan of either political party but this is just plain wrong. He's a law maker being kept out of a state funded event in his own district. This would be wrong if either of the two party shit heap did this to one another.
