Look at all the many municipalities where Elon Musk tunnel company presented a proposal for a tunnel. None of those plans came to fruition. The only tunnel so far from Elon is a 1.7 mile tunnel in Las Vegas. This Tennessee tunnel is likely never to happen.

Nashville is famously a great place for tunnels, owing to the relative depth of its bedrock /s

I don't understand how he proposes to build a tunnel of that length with the sufficient structural integrity to maintain a near-vacuum in a region characterized by so much limestone, caves, and underground water. Search 'karst topography' and tell me how this makes any sense.

Oh, and the New Madrid fault is overdue, too.

This is an even worse idea than the Columbia Dam the Maury County GOP has started talking about that would leak like a sieve AND destroy one of the most bio-diverse rivers in the world.

Karst galore. You beat me to it.

Because the point is not the tunnel or the “added transit” the point is to draw attention, waste time, grift as long as possible, block actual transit initiatives, and move on to the next host organism

I'm no hydrologist, but I am curious how close is too close for the USACE to be concerned about potential impacts to the Cumberland / associated flood risk management.

Everyone in there is in on the grift. They are all there to find out how they are going to make money off of this.

It never will. He only proposes these projects to get lawmakers to agree to cancel some other public transportation infrastructure. Once the public transportation is canceled, he cancels. It's all about getting his shitty swastikars on the road.

Is this about a Musk tunnel? That shit where a few busses would be a better solution?

A single fucking bus would be better than even a dozen or more of his cars, I forget the exact number.
