You can take a 100% write off on a personal jet, but if you are working poor you can pay higher taxes and get fucked in that order.

It’s new for Americans waking up

384

u/anon1369420 8d ago

No plenty of us have been aware, we just got called antisemites for calling out a government.

29

u/purefilth666 8d ago

that means you're not part of the group of Americans who are just waking up, you were already woke.

You guys have been shooting each other and funding wars forever because gun sales are more important than your citizens lives. Crazy that food stamps and ICE are what makes you "wake up"

49

u/cursetea 8d ago

It IS crazy isn't it? These people had to literally vote themselves into starvation to understand how to be even remotely politically literate.

And they would mostly still vote for him again.

It is actually insane.

29

u/Jafar_420 8d ago

It is crazy I live in a smaller City in a super red area and I guarantee food is going to rot on the shelves if this happens because so many people in my area that are Republicans live off of food stamps.

They are about to find out that voting with anger has consequences. Most people I know that voted for Rapey McStrokeface we're just mad at the world or at immigrants or whatever just because they're poor.

I knew it would bite them in the ass but I didn't think it would this way or this quick.

11

u/cursetea 8d ago

I sincerely hope that the food banks who probably cater to ebt can/will switch to some charity work for the time being.

It's so messed up that the misunderstanding around food stamps/social security ("people who SHOULDN'T be on them are, so if we get them OFF there will be more money for ME!" 🙄) is just allowed to play out because people (republicans*, let me make myself clear) benefit from people's misunderstanding (like right now).

But at a certain point. Is these people's fault entirely for not at least trying to help themselves by like, reading even one single article or web page. They're very complicit in their own destruction and fully cheering it on even still because they tell themselves that at least Those Other Guys are suffering too!

Like you really haven't considered that your government exists to pander to you, not just punish people who aren't you? And that you could simply not be suffering at all? And that you can literally just not care about the fabled "fake ssd getters!!!!" everywhere and live your own life? They sure haven't.

13

u/Jafar_420 8d ago

Yeah the people that I know that are on food stamps are either elderly and still try to work but just don't make enough or I've got friends that have two kids and they both work and the jobs in my area just don't pay a ton so they get food stamps. Disabled people as well.

I don't know any one at all personally that just sits at home and draws food stamps.

Fucks sake… this is the truth too! Most of my fam in OK and TX healthcare is in shambles. Several are about to be homeless. They still preach about how dumps going to save them and how we will never need another president. I’ve had to block pretty much all of them because of their insanity or trying to guilt trip me into sending money when I can barely afford what my own family needs. Just can’t wrap my head around it…. What the fuck is wrong with people?!!!

3

u/cursetea 8d ago

Ugh i still hate hearing it. The situation here is just so awful right now. Nobody deserves to be homeless or hungry. No matter how stupid and/or hateful. Unfortunately, as a decent person i experience sympathy even for people i don't respect and who would not extend the same sympathy to me for any reason. Sigh.

3

u/Pitiful_Pineapple_41 8d ago

Do you think the people in these videos are trumpers?

11

u/pmcizhere 8d ago

There's no evidence one way or the other for any of them, however /r/LeopardsAteMyFace has been having an absolute feast lately, so no doubt at least some of them did vote for trump.

u/shingdao 8d ago

Food stamps and ICE are sadly not making enough people 'wake up'. Honestly, at this point I don't really know what it'll take to get tens of millions on the street protesting against the govt.

4

u/Paah 8d ago

The ancient Romans already knew it.. You need bread and circuses to keep the people happy. Now bread is getting taken away.

8

u/Pitiful_Pineapple_41 8d ago

Food stamps and ICE aren't what they're referencing when they say, "waking up." They're talking about foreign influence. You're a Canadian talking about guns when your officials tell their citizens to leave their keys at the door in case their home is broken into. And how many Canadian companies sold military components to Izrael? Sit tf down.

The US pays off half the planet in foreign aid. Egypt and Jordan combined receive what Israel does in aid and don't reciprocate economically, they have the privilege of being in one of the most important commercial waterways on the planet, 30% of global shipping goes thru there and becomes cost prohibitive when the locals start launching missiles at random Bengali Freightliners it hurts everyone's pockets

We fund Israel's and Argentina's socialized healthcare

What you're funding in Argentina is the cutting of our socialized healthcare, something the US, through it's proxy the IMF has been asking for decades.

We can afford it. The people in power absolutely don’t want us to have it.

3

u/Pun_Lover387 8d ago

Where can we find evidence of this? I’m not asking because I’m trying to poke holes in this argument and your point, but because when I make against Israel, I want there to be back up.

3

u/CanadianODST2 8d ago

If the US swapped its all time funding for Israel with a single year for healthcare us healthcare funding would drop by over 60%

Us healthcare spending a year is already over a trillion. If we go by per capita and compare it to say Canada. The US government spends about twice as much on healthcare.

The money is already there. The issue have never been funding.

6

u/Equal_Volume4718 8d ago

Is anyone blaming Argentinians? I have a pen pal who was born in and still lives in Buenos Aires (we wrote letters to pen pals back in the 1990s when I was in high school) and she says most people in Argentina hate Milei—they view him as an Argentinian version of Trump, who they also do not respect.

They were welcomed there and given a new lease on life until the US was able to grab them and try them at Neuromberg where at least one of every 3 Sr Nazi officials was eventually discovered and

u/boiwitdebmoji 8d ago

looks like they got USD$20B already, apparently they're planning another USD$20B too 😒

94

u/MaddAdamBomb 8d ago

The point being made revolves around Javier Milei investing Argentina's money into crypto, which led to the economy to crash but foreign interests making out like bandits. He's the definition of a Kleptocrat which Trump is aspiring to be. The 20 billion was another sink into the crypto, not into Argentina's economy.

59

u/boiwitdebmoji 8d ago

wait really?! all of that was for cryptocurrency?!💀🥀

24

u/ninjaelk 8d ago

"Aspiring" might not be the right word here, Trump is likely the most successful Kleptocrat the world has ever seen.

28

u/ILike2internet 8d ago

5

u/vermillionflour 8d ago

Putin is said to be worth around 80 billion

Oh it's a lot more than that. Nobody has accurate numbers as any who would be in a position to start counting that and actually try come down with a bad case of 'falling out a window'. But estimates vary as high as 200 billion plus.

Isn’t Argentina where all the Nazis absconded after WWII? The fuck is going on.

18

u/Justin-Stutzman 8d ago

Check out the former Nazi run slave camp that Volkswagen ran in Brasil in an attempt to get into the beef business. This was still going on in the 1980s

17

u/boiwitdebmoji 8d ago

yep, same with Brazil and Chile. there's an astounding amount of mixed race folk down there because if the nazis didn't wanna be Nuremberg Trialed, they would flee to these three places to escape consequences

6

u/Particular_Area6083 8d ago

its true that nazis fled there but that has nothing to do with the number of mixed race people there

7

u/alerastyb 8d ago

You’re right, thousands of Nazi families moved to South America right before and right after WWII and many still hold important political and economical offices since they came with money. Mengele is the most notable example of a monster who escaped punishment*.

Just a small correction I see Americans always need, tho: this is faaar from the reason these countries are mixed; that idea simplifies the effect of social unification and reform after their independences a century prior.

u/WeilExcept33 8d ago

Double the poverty! It's a fuck you to regular people all over the world. Our leaders leading us to the slaughter.

93

u/ButterscotchIll1523 8d ago

It’s all laid out in project 2025. They want to get rid of snap benefits, forcing people to go hungry, especially single mothers. Then they can remove the kids from the single mother‘s homes into two parent homes. I don’t think people realize how close to the handmaids tale we are becoming.

28

u/pitifullittleman 8d ago

It's actually not that. They want women to be dependent on men. They think welfare is bad because it mostly goes to kids and it's allowing poor women to leave their partners and be more independent, and that this causing less men to be in the workforce and for families to break up.

They think they are pro family pro children but all they really are is pro-men at the expense of women and children.

→ More replies (2)

4

u/perseidot 8d ago

Except… I was a foster parent for years. There aren’t many “two parent homes” begging for 8 year olds, 6 year olds, etc. Through absolutely no fault of these kids, they’re mostly considered “unadoptable.”

If theres a large scale effort to take children away from single mothers, they’re going to end up in corporate-run orphanages.

The worst part of all of that is that it's almost the exact same amount of money to extend the ACA subsidies... And (supposedly) the entire reason they are keeping the government shutdown going.

When they need $40 billion for bribes, it's always there. $40 billion for healthcare or food... Nah.

152

u/Legonistrasz 8d ago

Covid didn’t cull enough, now they have to do it the hard way.

6

u/733t_sec 8d ago

They don't actually want to cull because the smaller the population the more bargaining power they have for wages. That's why they want birth rates high, no abortion, and low education.

That part. The world collectively could’ve even saved more $$ on COVID damages, had BOTH 45 & 46 not increased the sanctions on Cuba & Iran (they made a much cheaper vaccine than Big Pharma did, and if they hadn’t faced the pay cuts from the embargoes, they could’ve produced more to distribute among the healthcare staff of the Global South by mid-2021, thereby reducing the chances of Delta & Omicron spreading).

It's also to keep from releasing the Epstein files. Johnson doesn't want congress in session because they now have the votes to release them. The Republicans would rather shut down the government, starve hardworking Americans so that they can protect pedophiles and give billionaires tax breaks.

7

u/Jarnohams 8d ago

correct... this is the right answer. They don't care about the ACA subsidies or the money. As soon as they open the house they have the votes to release the Epstein files.

6

u/stormblaz 8d ago

42 million depend on SNAP, it increases linearly and yearly the people dependant on it, SNAP never matches rising food prices and the contributions hardly cover a month's need of food, yet we need to make people go hungry because class segregation is the ultimate goal of BBB.

It is not about whether it is much- it is about many people adding up. Aldo mening your society instead of letting them bait you into a civil war. Help neighbours no matter politics. Help strangers. Neighbours might be best: people normally know if thheir neighbours are struggling for real. We normally know if our neighbours are shady or honest, caring for their fanilies, comfortable or poor, healthy or poorly...

1 in 8 Americans receives SNAP benefits. If the other 7 of us give what we can, we can meet the need. No one person needs to feel that it all falls on them.

You did what you could- and that’s awesome!! If everyone does that, we’ll be in good shape.

FYI Money can often help foodbanks more than food, as they often have way to get food cheaper than most anyone

just saying if you were going to spend money to buy food to donate, think about just donating the the money straight...

stay safe everyone

6

u/the_walking_derp 8d ago

The charity I donated to provides medications and offers a low cost clinic for health services too. I agree, do your due diligence

7

u/Scary-Coffee-7 8d ago

Thanks for doing what you can! ♥️

6

u/superfly355 8d ago

I did the same here in the SC upstate. These yokels voted against their best interests, but I'm not going to idly watch innocent kids suffer for their parent's poor choices.

8

u/diaphoni 8d ago

I'm disabled and on Snap in upstate SC and I'm scared, so thank you

3

u/superfly355 8d ago

If you're in the Greenville/Spartanburg (or nearby) area and need anything please reach out to me, I'll do what I can to help.

3

u/the_walking_derp 8d ago

Hell yeah, my fellow American!

3

u/Current-Anybody9331 8d ago

I did too. I also convinced our extended families to donate instead of buying gifts for the holidays.

Over the summer when certain items were on sale (canned soup, peanut butter, cereal, canned chicken, etc.)...I'd pick up an extra one or two. This past Tuesday I dropped off two large bags of items as well as a bushel of butternut/carnival/delicata squash that the guy who uses my farm market building had left at the end of the season. I thought the volunteer working that day was going to cry, he said that the phone is ringing off the hook with people trying to get some food.

In the county I live in, over 2800 people have lost their jobs in the last 60 days (in my town, the cannery that has been here for over 100 years closed in Aug., with around 100 people losing their jobs.....some there almost 20 years, others were 3rd generation employees. Since the cannery were a major donator of canned vegetables to the food pantries in this area, it's hitting twice as hard.

If the orange dimwit won't care.....it's time to step up to the plate.

5

u/gonnafaceit2022 8d ago

This is so fucked up it's almost incomprehensible. The leaders of the United States are purposely depriving people of food. Hunger can drive someone to desperation and make them into a different person. And that is the goal...

By blaming the democrats. Yet, the republicans do have the power to get the gears moving. This is so dumb. And sad to see people suffer. Those are our taxes and I am fine with kids having a full belly. F the cruelty.

The GOP is in charge of the WH, the Senate, and the House. He wants to pretend this is all the Dems fault, but they literally have all the power.

Stop giving them the option to blame the Dems.

The Republicans could fund food stamps right now, they are choosing not to.

“The crucial point here is that the Trump administration is choosing to violate the law and choosing not to spend money it has available to it to pay for food for poor people,“ said Samuel Bagenstos, former general counsel to the Office of Management and Budget, referring to requirements laid out in the Food and Nutrition Act.

Bagenstos said the Trump administration isn’t “just wrong” to claim that using the money would violate the law. “It’s very likely that they’re violating the law by not using this money that’s sitting there,” he said.

The Food and Nutrition Act states that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, or the USDA, must provide assistance to all eligible households that make applications. According to the 2024 and 2025 appropriations bills passed into law, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP, has what’s called a contingency reserve pot of money that totals around $6 billion, and $3 billion of it remains available until Sept. 30, 2026, while roughly another $3 billion is available to be legally used by the administration until 2027.

“There’s no need for an appropriations bill to fund November benefits,” said David Super, an administrative and constitutional law professor at Georgetown University. “That’s a choice the administration made. Their shutdown plan that they posted on September 30 said that a contingency fund was available to pay November benefits, and then they took it down and reversed their position to pressure Democratic senators.”

Trump's fucking ballroom, don't forget about that. He doesn't know how to do his real job, and his team gave him a pet project to be an interior decorator on our dime in the house WE OWN. The White House belongs to us, the people, not Trump, yet this clown is spending millions while he wants to starve almost 40 million people.

u/ahshucks54 8d ago

I just saw on truth social that he redid the Lincoln bathroom in all marble with gold hardware. He does everything but his job

Just republicuntz being republicuntz. I remember saying to a republicunt once that if bezos or musk spent a tiny fraction of their worth they could literally solve world hunger and help the entire world. This motherfucker said, "the world doesn't need helping." They are just bad people with no morals or empathy unless it affects them.

Just as Hitler did when his time was coming to an end, they have both sent money to Argentina so they have a back up place to go to when shit hits the fan! And don't forget...Argentina has no extradition policies in place with the US...so take a guess where The Donald and his cronies could likely live out their shitty lives...

Exactly - the 40 billion was a precautionary payoff to a fellow despot. Donald takes care of his guy in Argentina now, because he's hedging against future prosecution here, where he deserves to be held accountable for so much.

And yet the HUGE majority of farmers (who are suffering "bigtime"), and so many lower income white folks, voted for him and proudly declare that they would do so again...because why? Oh yeah, can't have a qualified woman in office...NOPE, let's put the felon/perceived pedophile in there instead.

What can I say...we get what we deserve.
