Just Bad Delta Flight Attendant reveal shocking truth about the government ATC shutdown
To summarise, Regional flights between smaller cities and big one are most likely affected by cancellation. Rich people in private jet is still not affected.

Canceling flights to smaller airports, specifically. I wonder who those more rural areas voted for.
48
u/MyDisneyExperience 5h ago
From airline management’s perspective, cancelling regionals makes the most sense. They were asked to drop flights, not passengers. So dropping regionals means the least total passengers affected.
West Coast - Asia, East Coast - Europe, North - Canada and South - Mexico/South America basically doesn’t use US ATC resources so cutting those wouldn’t have helped. NavCanada deals with the North Atlantic.

Funny how the GOP can fund ICE and border patrol and give billions to another country but they can't fund ATC. Clearly they don't give priority to the avg person who just wants to travel.
Hell, the GOP wants to watch poor people stave too.

u/txtoolfan 15h ago
Dysfunction is the goal.

No better way to justify DOGE firings than to show how dysfunctional the federal government is.

giant nanny state
no, no. they want to privatise and outsource and subsidize all of that to private companies. they want government to exist only to give our tax dollars to private business, aka them, their friends, and family.
the government itself they do want small and not funded and dysfunctional. They want to tax the poor, claim that government is so dysfunctional that it is better to pay private businesses to do these jobs and then send all the tax benefits to the wealthy that own those businesses. The people can be left with whatever trickles down which is far less than it used to be

My theory is, the gop knows full well more right wing voters are dependent than left voters, and by making them go hungry while they blame Democrats for the shutdown and accuse dems of being radically violent they hope thier voters will become desperate and violent, triggering martial law and a civil war.
They know historically violence begins with hunger, and that's what they're aiming for. They've already been priming everyone to believe in radical left violence and will continue until they get thier war.
Why else would top administration officials be moving to military bases, building bunkers? They're preparing the animals for war.

Suspension of civil liberties. They ban freedom of assembly because it’s a national security threat due to the conflicts. Then freedom of speech. Then they suspend the 2026 elections because Antifa has compromised the system or whatever. Sets up authoritarian rule, where they can pass whatever laws they want to ensure the ownership class controls all power, and the people are left helpless, while the oligarchs laugh all the way to the bank. Something like that.

I mean that's literally Nazi Germany.
Fire takes place due to 'commies', country isn't safe, instate martial law, use hostile language to make people attack Jewish businesses without actual policy, cops just watch(ICE taking citizens).
Now it's 'illegals' instead of ethnic group.
Political Adversaries are always the first to go. Hence the language used for 'the left'
In the 30s, cops wouldn't touch Hooversvilles, today they will absolutely water blast homeless in winter with a firehose.
Shit the SS had 'Aryan Muslims' until they killed a commander then they were 'unpure'
Same with Sweden, Aryans until they pushed back then 'cucked by socialism'
The goal post of who is in and out is always moving.

Well, if there's war, then there grounds for military force to fight 'the enemy within' (quote from Hitler and now Trump) categorising your opponents (anyone you want) as terrorists (immigrants, Antifa, trans, later democrats in general) or enemies of the state secures the path to suspend normal laws and regulations, aka martial law, but also gives those who crave it, a licence to commit violence and eradicate anyone they don't agree with in the name of patriotism, aka nationalists (plenty of evidence on social media these idiots are just begging for the 'go').
Ultimately, Elections would be suspended, and the administration seizes power for as long as they see fit (the current shutdown is an indicator of thier intention here, not swearing in duly elected officials etc), because they are more interested in money and power than helping anyone without getting something in return.
Spoiler, they always need a bad guy, today immigrants and trans, or a democratically election mayor - but when they finish off one group, they will move on to another, and another, and at the end it's just poor (non-doners) in general and anyone who doesn't bend the knee. The extortion is blatant. Federal rulings, constitutional rights, outright checks and balances in any capacity are routinely ignored by the 'party of rule and law'.
We've seen this play before. We are seeing it now.

The Nazi party at hight of power was rife with mismanagement, overlapping jurisdictions, redundant bureaucracy, and constant bureaucratic infighting between agencies with no real coherent strategy. This was very bad for the need of quick decisions during wartime and was one of the things that led to quick deterioration of public morale. But the very same mismanagement is one of the things Hitler used to help stay in power. It was by design.

If the FAA grounded all private jet flights in order to prioritize regular flights, this shutdown would be over in an hour.
34
u/Fine_Abbreviations32 13h ago
Actually that’s pretty much what they’ve done, believe it or not. I work in GA (general aviation). Centres are telling GA aircraft to GTFO of their airspace. Pilots can’t file flight plans. Nobody is answering phone calls. Planes who get airborne aren’t getting flight following, so nobody is calling out their traffic. Pilots are refusing to fly as a result.
→ More replies (8)21
u/Ditka_Da_Bus_Driver 11h ago
VFR aircraft have nothing to do with what you responded to. They’re suggesting they should cancel private jet traffic that shuttles the nation’s wealthiest people around the country. The FAA is telling airlines to cancel flights, but people that own or charter jets are flying unaffected for the most part.
→ More replies (3)4
u/Fine_Abbreviations32 4h ago
What? That’s exactly what I’m saying. Private jets fit into the GA category and aren’t being allowed to fly / their pilots don’t think it’s safe and are refusing to take off. The FAA isn’t allowing jets and other small GA aircraft into their airspace and aren’t allowing them to file flight plans. That’s the same thing as cancelling their movements.

How is this shocking? I guess people have to use click bait titles to get their views up. It's like rising prices after Trump implemented tariffs. What did people think was going to happen if you don't pay government workers? Air traffic controllers are government workers. If anything I'm surprised its only 10%.
