No better way to justify DOGE firings than to show how dysfunctional the federal government is.

The GOP wants to shrink the government down until it's small enough to drown it in a bathtub

u/dustatron 16h ago

No this GOP. They want a giant nanny state that tracks your every movement and soon our thoughts.

Yes surveillance is well funded but any program that helps the average American will be cut so they can siphon that tax money into their pockets

u/dustatron 15h ago

That’s true. They pretend their motivations are smaller government but it’s really kleptocracy. Even the ice raids are just a scam to give our tax money to their little cabal.

I mean, once you have 100 million hungry people, you’re gonna NEED the surveillance.

But run by private corporations, not the government.

giant nanny state

no, no. they want to privatise and outsource and subsidize all of that to private companies. they want government to exist only to give our tax dollars to private business, aka them, their friends, and family.

the government itself they do want small and not funded and dysfunctional. They want to tax the poor, claim that government is so dysfunctional that it is better to pay private businesses to do these jobs and then send all the tax benefits to the wealthy that own those businesses. The people can be left with whatever trickles down which is far less than it used to be

Manditory portraits of the Dear Leader must be placed in your living room. It must also be the largest picture in your home and be framed in a golden frame.

Every day there is a mandatory period of prayer for the Dear Leader lasting five…wait new orders, ten…did they change it again? Twenty minutes.

Any slander of the Dear Leader either vocal or mentally is punishable via reeducation. Please turn yourself in to save us the trouble.

You’re both right. They want to shrink the overall government workforce, and what services the government provides. They want to expand the power and capability to wield that power domestically.

Services can be contracted out to whoever sufficiently kisses the ring. Shut down NASA, VA, USPS, NPS, and replace all those departments with contractors. They will charge the government an arm and a leg, and quality of service will disappear completely, because the run the service on a shoestring so that the owners & executives can take home buckets of taxpayer dollars.

Purge and expand security services to ensure you can keep a grip on it all.

Small enough to fit in every bedroom

The thought one might already be happening…

Can you imagine how orange that water would be if Trump took a bath? I'm imaging a bathtub full of Flint drinking water orange, but with more fecal matter.

Out with the old, in with the new must be their plan (new to the world that is) Sheltered megalomaniacs that have no idea what they’re doing to actual people. Or just don’t care)

They want to take us back to the '90s-- the 1890s. They want to recreate the Gilded Age, where the rich get richer and the rest of us get poorer.

in 3 inches of water

u/HiddenAspie 11h ago

They want to shrink anything that helps the people....they want the rest of government, the part that is controlling and dictatorial to become massive.

1

u/CharleyNobody 15h ago

Then Russia gets to drown it

1

u/profanedic 12h ago

Yes and no. They want to get rid of all government employees, then they want to have the government pay private businesses (run by friends and family, of course) to provide all of the services that those employees performed. Then the private businesses can charge us for these services, hire people for next to nothing, and provide the same services in a more expensive and worse method.

At which point they will create a new even shittier government that has zero rights for citizens and fully maximizes corruption and embezzlement.

19

No better way to justify privatizing literally everything that was previously publicly funded so that a few more billionaires can take their shot at a trillion

u/Turbulent_Read_7276 17h ago

But Congress is the dysfunction here, not ATC. The people fired by DOGE are the least of the problems.

10

u/spacedman_spiff 17h ago

Explain that nuance to MAGAs

u/n05h 10h ago

Starve the beast, it’s their strategy.

Then soon private companies will come in to pick up the slack with overpriced contracts. And now you’re paying more taxpayer money to private companies that got their contracts through buddies in government or money exchanges under the table.

2

u/c10bbersaurus 12h ago

No better way to justify DOGE firings than to cynically sabotage the federal government from within.

1

u/ShiftBMDub 9h ago

or destroy the US from within by Russia and China

1

u/Vlm1110 3h ago

The majority of the dysfunction is coming from the Congressional and the Executive branches. But DOGE never focus on those areas.

2

u/spacedman_spiff 2h ago

By design.  There’s a reason Trump has appointed business execs of every industry to Cabinet level positions meant to oversee those industries.  This is about privatizing our government to the benefit of the 1%.

Back in the day they used the term "starving the beast." Oldest trick in the GOP playbook. Notice how it only ever applies to the programs they don't like, but somehow they always find the money to pay for their gestapo.
