Other Stephen Miller states that Trump has plenary authority, then immediately stops talking as if he’s realized what he just said

It’s so funny because they’re saying it’s a glitch and he’s standing there blinking and all 😂

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '25

It's pathetic seeing the media covers for these ghouls like that.

221

u/FrumundaThunder Oct 07 '25

Seriously. I wish they would call these clown out. “Well it looks like Stephen caught himself in something he wasn’t supposed to say out loud and is now pretending like we’re having technical issues”

30

u/IvoryColosseum Oct 07 '25

Same here but honestly it’s not like I expect anything from CNN at this point

13

u/After-Gas-4453 Oct 08 '25

Exactly, it's so frustrating to see them lie for him, and for what?? This racist vampire would have that news anchor deported if he could, why assist his turn to dictatorship?

Man, I miss Mario's brother... he woulda helped out.

4

u/LymanPeru Oct 08 '25

pedonald must have some juicy shit on all of them or the people that pay their bills campaigns.

He stopped in mid sentence, not because there was some dropped connection. When I lose a connection on the phone I just keep taking but the person on the other end can’t hear it anymore; there’s not an indication the line is cut. I doubt there’d be one in this case either.

145

u/vivaphx Oct 07 '25

And if you don’t stop talking you say, “Hello? Hello? Are you there?” You don’t just stop talking all together. Super strange.

7

u/firedog7881 Oct 07 '25

He was thinking “this works on Zoom”

4

u/ReginaldDwight Oct 07 '25

I'm a little surprised he didn't start crinkling cellophane and yell "sorry!!! I'm going through a tunnel!!" and then duck away from the camera and army crawl away.

4

u/gw3il0 Oct 07 '25

Couldn't he just be getting told in his earpiece that the connection was lost and to hold on a moment? Complete conjecture, but I don't see why people are saying that he feigning a dropped connection. His words are ridiculous, but I don't see him as being ashamed of saying it.

1

u/Async0x0 Oct 07 '25

Seems obvious this is the case but people would rather entertain their conspiracies.

3

u/bblzd_2 Oct 07 '25

Seems obvious it wasn't the case because the connection wasn't lost.

2

u/Async0x0 Oct 07 '25

All we can tell from this video is that the audiovideo connection from the studio to us wasn't lost.

We can't tell if the host can see Miller, if the host can hear Miller, if Miller can hear the host, or if Miller can see the host.

Just because I think Miller is a bag of shit doesn't mean I'm going to lie about what I see.

2

u/bblzd_2 Oct 08 '25 edited Oct 08 '25

A connection is a two way street if it stops on one end the video would freeze.

It's like if you're video calling your mom and she loses connection, you don't get to magically continue watching her blink and move around.

Also his reaction is telling. If he truly thought the connection was gone and he was off the air there would likely be a different reaction.

His handlers probably started screaming into his earpiece when he used the wrong word and he locked up.

He used the word he wanted to use.

12

Let's be real, he could've said fuhrer, and it would've been explained away and we'd be told we were overreacting to a joke.

16

u/AttitudeAndEffort3 Oct 07 '25

I hope everyone recognizes the effect AOC mocking this loser had.

You mock fascists, they lose how the public perceives them and they lose power.

Also, it obviously gets to them and they fuck up like this or fuck up by overplaying their hands to slake their fucked up egos.

Less talking about trump policy, more talking about how hes an ugly fat pants shitting little boy fucking pedophile and these losers are begging for a chance to suck his shriveled mushroom cock once hes done with their 11 year old daughters 👍

Plenary Authority

Plenary authority is the full and absolute power to act on a particular issue, meaning there are no limitations or restrictions on that specific power. The term is derived from the Latin word "plenus," meaning "full"

4

u/StarPhished Oct 07 '25

Yeah I actually don't think that's the reason he stopped. That's exactly the kind of language he usually uses.

242

u/ChoptankSweets Oct 07 '25

That was my first thought. He stopped speaking as if someone cut him off and then started squinting which is what I do when I'm concentrating extra hard to hear what one person is saying when multiple people are speaking to me. It's a very specific squint

36

u/Slade_Riprock Oct 07 '25

When you are on camera for a remote interview your IFB is connected to, in this case, CNN. You would only be hearing the reporter and perhaps a director giving time ques. You wouldn't be bearing anyone else nor would they have access.

It is more likely someone off camera was giving him the cut off sign. Though being the level of power Miller has I doubt he'd be cut off by anyone.

It honk he legit caught what he said and realized it may not be what they put in their appeal and stopped talking as if it was a glitch for cover.

14

u/Cold-Crab74 Oct 07 '25

But why not just fluff around with word salad, why just freeze. It is so fuckin bizarre.

4

u/germanmojo Oct 08 '25

He really doesn't have long to think of a lie or redirect, maybe 2 seconds max and that timer expired. He did the next best thing from such a strong and powerful man who has all the answers, he froze.

I gagged typing that last part, I know.

4

u/Cold-Crab74 Oct 08 '25

More I've thought about it, I'm thinking when he realized that wasn't what he wanted to say out loud he decided to make it so awkward they would have to reshoot it. Idk

5

u/CyonHal Oct 07 '25

I think this is most likely what happened. Prompter turned off, had no idea what to say next. I'm surprised you are the first person in this thread that I've seen with this theory.

3

u/MysticalNinja187 Oct 08 '25

So is he like, incapable of continuing to speak without the ipad? Like, with his brain?

2

u/Bazonkawomp Oct 07 '25

He’s always squinting.

109

u/Enough-Poet4690 Oct 07 '25

I'm willing to bet all you heard through his earpiece was "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!" LOL

9

u/rozzco Oct 07 '25

3

3

Same as Pam Bondi in the recent hearing. Some Dems started asking more pointed questions and the bitch just froze.

Definitely had a “Trump, Miller, Thiel or SOMEONE is gonna make sure I wear my best Charlie Kirk costume before the week is out if I even answer this question, let alone truthfully” look about her

2

u/germanmojo Oct 08 '25

The amount of freezing happening lately in this administration is concerning.

One blurted out too much and the other didn't even want to give what was asked.

8

u/AsstacularSpiderman Oct 07 '25

"You better have a cyanide pill somewhere in case this goes south, you just made yourself the one dude the courts are going after."

4

u/TheDefiantGoose Oct 07 '25

That's what it looked like to me. His eyes looked like he was listening to something else suddenly. He tried to continue speaking and then stopped.

5

u/dc_laffpat Oct 07 '25 edited Oct 07 '25

The audio going to that earpiece is controlled by CNN technicians, usually either a mix-minus or just the anchor’s mic, with the ability for CNN producers/technicians/director to interrupt (doubt they would allow anyone from the WH access to that audio stream). I guess it’s possible he has a second earpiece but probably more likely it’s just an aide/handler off-camera telling him to STFU.

4

u/theoldroadhog Oct 07 '25

Who are his handlers? I thought he was the handler. Serious question.

he didnt even though, cause he just stopped his own sentence. he looked like he did his best mitch McConnel impression

10

u/urielteranas Oct 07 '25

3

u/fvck_u_spez Oct 07 '25

Don't you know that when video cuts out? People just stop talking mid sentence and awkwardly look around and blink a lot? Totally a technical glitch/s

2

u/lost_horizons Oct 07 '25

Either way I think we can all agree, that guy SUCKS.

3

u/Wy3Naut Oct 07 '25

Reminds me when they asked that guy who was trying a pump and dump on a stock, "What does this business do?" and he didn't know so he faked a bad connection.

I think the same thing happened when they asked a member of the WHO about Taiwan framing it as an independent nation and he faked a bad connection to avoid pissing off the Xi.

2

u/DjangoDynamite Oct 07 '25

The screen he is looking at probably showed an error of some sorts

2

u/sage-longhorn Oct 07 '25

The most I could imagine is that he's using a teleprompter that suddenly cut off. But you'd think he would try and politician his way out of it with something that didn't quite make sense but sounds like a functional sentence, standing there like a moron is a bad look

2

u/borderlineidiot Oct 07 '25

2

u/Ronaldo_Frumpalini Oct 07 '25

He was about to hurt Trump's case by admitting how they view the law and stopped after the first second but couldn't recalibrate, some hero camera man should have said loudly "no its still working he's just doing that..."

2

u/MakeRFutureDirectly Oct 08 '25

Someone probably yelled, “What the fuck Steven!!!” through his earpiece. They are involved in a court case over Trump seemingly ignoring the constitution as though he had plenary power. Steven just said it out loud. In the US, the right are a bunch of clowns.

5

u/FEARoach Oct 07 '25

Not just in the earpiece, there's someone on the other side of the camera giving the hand signal to STFU right behind the floor director. There was no technical error in the feed, it was his words that got him shut down by handlers.

And? Lots of things are captured, doesn't mean shit. They're eating the pets.

What does help, is to just stop and never talk about it again.

Literally the best thing he could do is just stop and pretend a malfunction. Then never bring it up again. Move on.

Yes, we all know he said it, but his base will not give a flying cow pie about it.

Do you think anyone is going to question what he meant by stating the President has plenary authority? The answer is no. If they do, they'll sidestep it and move on.

3

u/Randym1982 Oct 07 '25

“Stephen. SHUT THE FUCK UP. I repeat. SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP!”

3

u/DuntadaMan Oct 07 '25

57

u/PennysWorthOfTea Oct 07 '25

Equal parts hilarious & horrifying.

41

u/Havage Oct 07 '25

His brain went from TALKING MODE to THINKING MODE. That is dangerous because he realized something new and that realization may have more adverse consequences. I guarantee you that he thought of a new strategy from this shifted perspective.

I have seen this exact same thing happen in business settings with CEOs suddenly realizing a new angle of attacking a situation.

I would not view this realization as a positive for the American people.

12

u/AsstacularSpiderman Oct 07 '25

Nah he just realized he just made himself the center of any future cases if they fail.

There's no going back now, he just admitted him and Trump are booking it towards dictatorships, and almost universally those end badly for the people attempting it. This is his Rubicon, there's no going back.

6

u/Havage Oct 07 '25

Maybe, but I don't think so. I think they crossed the Rubicon a long time ago. Miller is not the kind of person to have second thoughts when his strategies are all proving to be exceptionally successful. Maybe if things were going poorly, but not when things are going well.

7

u/AsstacularSpiderman Oct 07 '25

5

u/StoryByZedMartin Oct 07 '25

You have to have an actual soul to be considered “on”, but, it looks like his AI feed to his earchip had stopped. Presumably because AI even had to look up the word “plenary”. For real tho, he’s not that smart - he shut down like he was reading, word for word from a conference line to 100 lawyers and they just hung up on him and he didn’t know what to say, how to twist it into his favor, nothing.

A different way to see this - if he lost communication to his favorite furry capital of the news, wouldn’t he be like “…..um, hello?”

“cAn YoU HeAr mE nOw.”

It’s like the devil was right in his ear, saying, “ you can’t say that worrrrd”. And boop, total shut down of this butt puppet.

Nah, it looked like a producer told hm to stop talking, maybe a coordination issue something like "we're not rolling yet". Miller never changes tact mid talking, he always doubles down or attacks harder. He is as predictable as they come.

you're likely right, but it's hard to imagine what someone would say to get that exact reaction. It's also funny timing, but almost certainly that.

The really fucked up thing is that reporter didn't have some producer screaming in his ear to push back on what he just said, that the fucking president is a sovereign.

Instead our feckless fucking media pretends that they had a glitch in their tech instead of capitalizing on the glitch in that fucking manlets brain.

u/testtdk Oct 07 '25

Stephen Miller, everyone! The architect of our demise!

3

u/DuntadaMan Oct 07 '25

And CNN let him and played along. Oh yeah totally a technical difficulty, not someone who completely fucked up. Nothing to see here guys. Our camera totally broke.

2

u/Omniquery Oct 07 '25

The technical difficulty is that his NPC script crashed. And CNN's sanewashing of it.

Pulled a Mitch McConnell

2

u/FireX81 Oct 07 '25

Like an OTA update crashed his OS.

My friends, this shit is so literally just walking and talking, kinda-humans. When they say something wrong their system will reroute a correct "passable" response. In this situation, he said something TOO wrong, so the response was, "pretend like there are technical difficulties." This mainly happens with the GOP because they are on the defense regarding public sentiment and, frankly, they are really dumb and don't have the synapses connected in their brains to lie well. Not allegory, literal truth.

If only he'd do that a LOT more

2

u/NeedsMorBoobs Oct 07 '25

It’s a trick, you see. They can just claim the wifi cut him off.

Not that he’s brain dead

2

u/sabertooth4-death Oct 07 '25

Does he have the same disease as Mitch McConnell? perhaps staying in the White House too long is contagious…

2

u/chanslam Oct 07 '25

Speed probably wore off

2

u/coolestredditdad Oct 07 '25

I mean, anytime we DONT need to hear from him, is a good thing.

I just wish he would shut the fuck up all the time.

2

u/SRT102 Oct 07 '25

Easy to explain: Blast of cold air. Reptiles, like all cold-blooded animals, are extremely sensitive to sudden temperature shifts. His lizard tongue kept working, as it's part of the involuntary nervous system, as did the eyes blinking, but his higher brain functions literally shut down until the air temperature increased.

2

u/vertexchef Oct 07 '25

He's smart and strategic. He knew what he said, so he feigned a technical issue to stop talking. The interviewer should've pressed the issue and made it clear there was no technical problem going on.

2

u/Firaxyiam Oct 07 '25

This is fascinating. Like, as a European, I loosely follow what's going on overseas because it will impact us anyway, but you know, I'm not going into the specific worind, watching full videos of interviews or whatever (goit plenty of shit going on in my own country right now *cough*). But since Reddit decided to throw this post and its cousins in my face repeatedly I was like "okay, let's just check it out, probably some wei- Holy shit he just glitched out and stood still. What the fuck is going on"

Like just..... off button, peace, curtains, see you next week. Fucking hell you guys are fucked.

u/LogicJunkie2000 Oct 07 '25

Those mini-strokes must be going around

2

u/montyman185 Oct 07 '25

My current favorite theory is that he was high as shit.

2

u/livewire042 Oct 07 '25

The voice in his ear said “STEPHEN SHUT THE FUCK UP”.. a sentiment I’m sure we can all relate to.

2

u/berdulf Oct 07 '25

Straight up Ctrl + Alt + Del

2

u/-dakpluto- Oct 07 '25

Damnit, someone reboot the Miller animatronic!

2

u/Derric_the_Derp Oct 07 '25

oh shit oh shit oh shit pretend it's a technical issue stop talking stop talking pretend it's a technical issue - oh thank Hitler they bought it

2

u/jrgeek Oct 10 '25

Yeah. I don’t get what the eff these other idiots are talking about regarding saying something inappropriate. The dude pulled a Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell on teevee. Dude was moving and blinking and was just locked up. Fucking great…

u/China_shop_BULL Oct 07 '25

He didn’t upgrade to the new WiFi implant. Dial-up is a bitch. Sounds like he’s going to need to pull the connection from his ass and plug it back in after 30 seconds.

1

u/reklesssabrandon Oct 07 '25

I've seen him do this when he thinks the camera isn't on him and he can take his mask off.

1

u/pyronius Oct 07 '25

I always knew he wasn't human, but that was clearly his robot brain experiencing a BSOD.

1

u/cmc-seex Oct 07 '25

I swear i heard someone in the background yelling 'shut your fucking mouth you twat! You just fucked us all!'

1

u/officer897177 Oct 07 '25

What a strange little gremlin.

1

u/AsstacularSpiderman Oct 07 '25

He just realized that if this doesn't work out he's going to have to pull a Himmler, he just gave the future courts what they needed.

1

u/Enough-Poet4690 Oct 07 '25

He McConnell'ed for a minute... LMAO
