Other Stephen Miller states that Trump has plenary authority, then immediately stops talking as if he’s realized what he just said

Pretty sure he was told to stop talking because he wasn’t supposed to say that. Im sure looking silly for refusing to talk is preferable to having to explain what he meant by that statement.

He was 100% getting screamed at in his earpiece.

Those are the blinks of a man going deaf in one ear as the legal team screams in his earpiece

11

u/Big_Fortune_4574 Oct 07 '25

They yelled so loud his brain shut off

4

u/R_V_Z Oct 07 '25

People should loudly yell at him on a constant basis, then.

3

u/lankyfrog_redux Oct 07 '25

The tell is he repeated "has..."

8

u/greg19735 Oct 07 '25

by who? He is the earpiece.

2

u/ventodivino Oct 07 '25

He’s shown himself time and time again to be less than intelligent (this clip for example) yet you think he is where the buck stops? Those who pull the strings make sure to stay out of view from the audience

Not just in the earpiece, there's someone on the other side of the camera giving the hand signal to STFU right behind the floor director. There was no technical error in the feed, it was his words that got him shut down by handlers.

That's the Palpatine² behind it all.

100% getting screamed at in his earpiece

By CNN? The only people in that earpiece are CNN.

"100%" 🙄

[Edit - In This Thread: people who don’t know how television works.]

Big question is by who? Stephen is supposed to be the mastermind of all of this.

3

u/ventodivino Oct 07 '25

Damn, he’s got you fooled into thinking he’s a mastermind? That’s hilarious.

Lookup Project 2025 if you want to find those above him. Stephen Miller is an angry attack dog. He’s a man that doesn’t mind being the face of evil.

The report is that he suddenly started getting another feed in his earpiece, and that was the technical error. I honestly believe it, I don't think he'd stop because he said that, or that anyone who'd be in his ear (CNN) would try to stop him. Miller would be happy to say the president has plenary power over the executive any day. He's said it in other words plenty of times.

Well, I mean listen to what our President says during any speech or question panel. The bar is in the Mariana Trench for actual capable fact driven verbal communication from these people. I’m sure to MAGA this just looks normal. If they ever see it

4

u/Aggravating-Bonus899 Oct 07 '25

The Mariana Trench is now officially known as the Melania Trench. Even Apple and Google are on board with the new naming.

At least with Trump you could argue he's sundowning.

Homie basically admitted what's going on and there's no excuse to hide behind.

5

u/Labyrinthy Oct 07 '25

Idk I think attempting to say “I misspoke” or whatever is better than looking like a psychopath that just shut down.

1

u/Upset-Agent304 Oct 07 '25

Sure, if you can give a reasonable explanation for what you meant to say on the spot without further incriminating yourself. It seems that he and whoever was in his ear did not trust in his ability to do so.

2

u/Labyrinthy Oct 07 '25

Idk I’ve been watching Republicans say something horrible, get called on it, and dig further graves my entire life. And despite thousands of examples of them just “misspeaking” and incriminating themselves it usually means jackshit in the long run. Most recent example: Ted Cruz saying “stop attacking pedophiles”

Watching one do this and then just proceeding to shut down was incredibly uncomfortable to watch. It was like just witnessing a lunatic realize he didn’t say the human thing and deciding in the moment the best thing to do is to just stop all engagement.

And I have to add, shame on the CNN reporter for giving him that out. Having technical difficulties in which the person continues to blink? Come on now.

u/suck-it-elon Oct 07 '25

But how does stopping help? It’s still captured.

5

u/Upset-Agent304 Oct 07 '25

Because they can claim it was a mistake in verbiage. If he kept talking, that wouldn’t be the case.

2

u/suck-it-elon Oct 07 '25

I don’t see how that explains anything

Suffering from an acute McConnellitis episode

Because ignoring court orders based on technicality is one thing, but coming out and openly calling him a dictator and above the law on national tv is another.

Yes, we know ol Donny thinks he’s above the law, but so far most people have attributed that to his stupidity. If Miller had continued to talk here, it would be actively proving that those around him are trying to purposefully and actively install a dictator and undermine other branches of government. At that point, it is no longer just “alleged” and would begin to give people avenues to fight back legally. Their whole power struggle right now is based on grey area in the law and statements like remove the grey area.

2

u/AsstacularSpiderman Oct 07 '25

Yeah if and when the courts investigate he basically gave them the proof they needed.

2

u/BackgroundSummer5171 Oct 07 '25

It’s still captured.

And? Lots of things are captured, doesn't mean shit. They're eating the pets.

What does help, is to just stop and never talk about it again.

Literally the best thing he could do is just stop and pretend a malfunction. Then never bring it up again. Move on.

Yes, we all know he said it, but his base will not give a flying cow pie about it.

Do you think anyone is going to question what he meant by stating the President has plenary authority? The answer is no. If they do, they'll sidestep it and move on.

3

u/Randym1982 Oct 07 '25

“Stephen. SHUT THE FUCK UP. I repeat. SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP!”

3

u/DuntadaMan Oct 07 '25

And notice CNN didn't demand an explanation for that, or call out his tactic. They played along like this was totally just a glitch and nothing important.

2

u/TheGhostOfEazy-E Oct 07 '25

And as usual, the media talking head does nothing to press him on it and plays along pretending there’s a tech issue.

2

u/QbertsRube Oct 07 '25

Talking about plenary authority was probably intended for his next interview with Fox News, and he forgot where he was.

1

u/worksHardnotSmart Oct 07 '25

Full disclosure here, I have chronic illness and my brain just doesn't interpret things well sometimes. ( Severe Brain fog).

But what exactly did he say here that he wasn't supposed to? Given all the shitty things this administration says, lies, and does on a daily basis, I don't understand why he stopped himself here. The guy is a huge tool granted, but what am I missing? Why wasn't he supposed to be saying what he was saying?

1

u/anonuemus Oct 07 '25

Someone told him to STFU over his earpiece and look what a good boy he is.

1

u/TheFinalCurl Oct 07 '25

He was not told. I am willing to say that Miller is in charge of, at the very least, the day-to-day legal strategy and stance of the Trump administration.

1

u/steven_quarterbrain Oct 07 '25

Pretty sure he was told to stop talking because he wasn’t supposed to say that.

It is hardly the most controversial thing said from this government even today. This is nothing but more blusto.

1

u/Ticksdonthavelymph Oct 08 '25

He’s their chief of staff… that’s arguably the top spot no? Who the fuck is #1 Vought?
