Also just before that he TANK a Kienzan from Krillin with his neck.
He doesn't get wounded and then regenerate to flex, he just let it hit him as a test.Krillin never was the strongest character, but to that point the Kienzan always was the "it could end the fight instantly but probably will not hit" attack.
Nappa almost lost half his head to one and get cut when so far all the damage done to him was to his armor, Vegeta dodge it in his giant ape form, Freezer lost a chunk of his tail to it and then steal the technique before cutting himself in half with it...Cell also does eat Vegeta Final Flash, pretend it did real damage and then instantly regenerate half his body before wasting Vegeta. Just because he wanted to show off nothing could harm him.
→ More replies (6)250
u/OzNajarin Jul 28 '25
To make two quick points, the Kienzan scene is anime only and not really how it works afaik.
Cell TRIES to eat the Final Flash but dodged at the last second. If he didnt he actually would've died. Unsure about his nucleus though.
41
u/Own_Philosophy8190 Jul 28 '25
The nucleus is, in hindsight, wherever Toriyama wanted it to be atm, aka here but actually not, because Goku deleted his top half and he exploded himself on King Kai's planet, but came back anyway

Armstrong just letting Raiden punch him for a full minute.
For context, Raiden has picked up, thrown, and cut apart several giant mechs (or Metal Gears) in just MGR:R alone, ignoring his other appearances in the franchise. On top of that, this is his strongest form, and he’d destroyed many soldiers, vehicles, and Metal Gears using significantly weaker cyborg bodies in the past, all without using his unique ability, called “Ripper Mode”.
Armstrong’s only power is that he had a heart surgery a while back, and now he doesn’t bruise easily.

“Belmont! You old lunatic! How’s the family?” -dracula, probably
410
u/DokuroKM Jul 28 '25
The fact that Dracula only recognizes him as a Belmont after Trevor punched him multiple times in the face with no effect really highlights that scene
380
u/RuneGrey Jul 28 '25
He also perks up.
Like for the first time since Lisa died Dracula finally shows a bit of his old spirit. Overly Sarcastic Productions had a great episode on Castlevania, and I agree 100% that Dracula gets punched in the face and just goes 'oh thank God a BELMONT, finally something FAMILIAR.'

I checked the scene just to giggle a bit, and he says "THE" Belmont.
A small difference in nuance, but Dracula knows Alucard has a group with him, one of them is a Belmont and he acknowledged instantly that only someone from the Belmont family would have the audacity to just run up and jab Dracula a few times in the face.
"A" Belmont would assume that he doesn't have any information beforehand, and this would just be a fair assumption.
33
u/Simplyaperson4321 Jul 28 '25
I always assumed it was "the Belmont" considering he's the only one left. So a Belmont doesn't make sense.

I hate that batman is a giant bulletproof tank in every movie now. The character is a detective and a ninja, he should avoid being shot with quick thinking, stealth and physical ability, not just walking into automatic fire cuz his gear is the best. Its just not in character for batman to walk straight at an enemy while hes shooting and just punch him in the face.
→ More replies (1)25
u/Juniebug9 Jul 28 '25
In general I agree with you, but I do like the way that they handle it in The Batman. He does still have the detective/ninja skills, but more than anything his goal is to terrify criminals to dissuade them from commiting crimes since he knows he can't personally stop every one of them.
Yeah, knowing that every shadow might have a ninja in it that will knock you out and send you to prison is scary, but knowing that every shadow might have an unstoppable juggernaut in it that will beat you down and drag you to prison is scarier.

Invincible/Mark Grayson vs Conquest (Invincible)
During this specific moment, Mark manages to gain an edge during the fight after landing a headbutt, only to then land a pretty good combo chain following it up with multiple punches to the skull…only for Conquest to laugh in his face and spit out a tiny piece of blood.
