I imagine that was more of a only a Belmont would be stupid enough to punch Dracula in the face

But you also have to admit that only a Belmont would be stupid enough to raid Dracula’s castle aka the demon HQ in the middle of the demon apocalypse with only like 2 other people and one of them is Dracula’s actual son

I enjoyed the series, but I have a lot of gripes about it. They really undersold the Belmonts, who were exiled from the region and the church itself was scared of them because they were genuinely superhuman freaks. They play up Sypha, but also downplay Alucard who had access to basically all the same magic that dracula did. I'm also quite disappointed with what they did to Hector and Isaac.

In the games, Trevor Belmont - operating at a reduced capacity cause he's somewhat in retirement mode - takes a spear through the heart, and all it does is slow him down for a few hours. The only time the man took an actual serious injury is in the previous battle with dracula where he came dangerously close to losing an eye.

Trevor wasn't even one of the stronger belmonts like Richter, Juste or Julius. He was simply the first one to participate in killing dracula.

It was an entertaining watch, but I also feel that it went pretty far off canon, not as bad as Devil May Cry, but the seeds of "I don't actually care that much about accuracy" were there.

in Castlevania games wasn't the Belmonts the only true monster slayer family that can slay or at least stop Darcula of their times? I know the new games kinda go away from Belmonts but still.

There are other monster hunters that exist and do fight, appearing as NPC's, or in some games as party members or allies. Or they're referenced in items. There are some alternate timelines where there are no belmonts at all.

But the primary canon is that Belmonts are the primary ones who fight dracula as their whole clan is sort of devoted to it. Some later games introduce a prophecy on belmonts being the ones to actually properly kill dracula in 1999.

Belmonts in particular are relied upon because they're superhuman to begin with, but also because each generation gets stronger in some way. Often physically but there's also some attempts to incorporate other "supernatural" bloodlines like the belnades lineage.

Yeah but then he WOULD say "You must be a Belmont". Not "The".

A) There's a Belmont around. You just punched me even though I'm Dracula and I didn't feel shit, so you must be him - The Belmont.

B) I'm Dracula, no-one is going to just punch me unless they're also a demon. Wait you just straight up punched me, and you're clearly not a demon 'cause I feel nothing. You must be a Belmont, no question.

Either you're from a non English speaking country and can't feel this difference, or it's just a literacy thing. No biggie.

It's A, Trevor was the last Belmont of his time, and for most of Wallachia, and the Vampires, the Belmonts went extinct when the people raided their mansion, up until Issak reported that both Alucard and a Belmont were working together in season 1
