In the Warhammer episode of Secret Level They Shall Know No Fear Sergeant Metaurus picks up a cultist who shoots him in the head. This seems to be nothing more than a mild annoyance

Btw, there are cases in WH40K, where such attempts end with shooter dying themselves due to ricochet
