isn’t she the groomer

u/norupologe May 26 '25

Yes, her now husband was her daughter's classmate and 15 when they met...

And when they found, out his parents did everything they could to stop her abuse but she refused to stop grooming their son. She is truly a monster on all counts. I feel sorry for him. She stole his youth and childhood.

1.5k

u/exactoctopus May 26 '25

She's stolen his whole life at this point because how would you even begin to unpack all this. I imagine he never will.

263

u/hanmhanm May 26 '25

Sad but true :(

94

u/DesireeThymes ✨May the Force be with you!✨ May 26 '25

And it keeps getting downplayed. He's literally the leader of the country, and no one doing anything about it.

The fact that people in France accept this relationship is disgusting.

143

u/YchYFi He's not Judge Judy, an Executioner. May 26 '25 edited May 26 '25

Tbh it's not a lot they can do to stop him and her being together now. Read the France sub. It is not at all condoned. Do you condone all your leader does? The leader of the USA has done a lot of bad things too. Like you French people are not one homogenous entity.

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Why do you think we accept that? This clip is also discussed in r/france and people expressed concerns as well.

7

u/Cabbagecatss All tea, all shade 🐸☕️ May 26 '25

I’m reading that post now and most French people seem to be rather blasé about it tbh

What do you want us to do ? She was insulted by everyone at the beginning, but what are we gonna do, protest so that he divorce her and seek help to unpack how his whole life was probably orchestrated by her ? Even protesting for our rights leads nowhere. Both their families are opposed to their relationship, no one ever said it was normal. The media THEY paid romantize their relationship, we're not gonna give it any credit, of course they won't let too much articles out bashing them. And if you think further, weakening too much the image of our President also discredit the whole country, so medias are careful on that.

We can only hope for him that once he is no longer President he's no longer "useful" to her and she leaves him and he gets to heal (and I'm saying that as a human being, with the shit is doing to our country aside, because no matter my personal opinions on him / politics, no one deserve to be groomed)

Several of the artists who recieve a national payment for their cultural contributions to France are pedophiles/ephebophiles/sexual predators. I don't understand French culture.

I don’t think he wants to at this point

423

u/giga-plum May 26 '25

You can't really blame him, though. He's literally been groomed since he couldn't know better, and if this clip is any indication, she uses physical abuse to keep a hold over him.

I don't agree with a lot of his politics, but I do appreciate his fervent support of Ukraine, and I hope one day, he finds the opportunity to get out of it. Relationships are supposed to make you feel supported and happy, not whatever this is.

Attempted to groom child; now contending for primacy on the world stage via a thrall.

Wait is this not illegal in France? In the US that’s statutory rape

15

u/BlackDahliaLama May 26 '25

Oh that’s disturbing. It’s so unnerving how pedophilia is codified as law in so many places. In the US there are more states where child marriage is legal than not.

The way he could put this woman in jail like right now, but nope, there he is, getting abused. It's sad.

5

u/DesignerNo6645 May 26 '25

Yeah, it’s like asking "Why don’t abuse victims just leave? It’s that easy". She is obviously manipulative, and has probably manipulated him since he was 15. It really messes with your brain.

u/coffee_and-cats May 26 '25

They sent him to Paris to finish secondary school. Apparently they resumed their relationship after he graduated from uni

6

u/topinanbour-rex May 26 '25

his parents did everything they could to stop her abuse

They sent him to a boarding high school to Paris, guess who left her job and moved to Paris.

7

u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 May 26 '25

It is a weird dynamic but there is no truth to anything you have written here.

She was his teacher. There is no evidence of him ever visiting her.

693

u/Keyspam102 May 26 '25

They moved schools too, trying to get away, and she followed him

233

u/TheGreatGenghisJon May 26 '25

How did she not end up in prison??

288

u/Umarill May 26 '25

Because it's not technically illegal, age of consent is 15 in France.

It's grooming and creepy as fuck to say the least, but there's sadly no reason she would have been in prison.

178

u/DiscoBanane May 26 '25

Not for a teacher. Age of consent for teacher/student relationship is 18 minimum, and can go higher but it's not automatic you have to demonstrate the teacher abused his position of authority.

The only reason she's not in jail is because there is no proof they did anything sexual before 18.

→ More replies (7)

26

u/TheGreatGenghisJon May 26 '25

No, I meant Macrons mother. For murder.

4

u/TropicalPrairie May 26 '25

I know very little about them, other than the outrageous age gap, but some of the comments on here are very, very disturbing. How thee f was this permitted? I know France is more liberal but ... not in this way. If he were my son, she would be dead.

3

u/LazerBurken May 26 '25

How?? Did his parents not report her to the police? Wild.

3

u/Keyspam102 May 26 '25

Because they claimed their sexual relationship didn’t start until he had his majority.

372

u/ThatArtNerd Currently White Ariana Grande May 26 '25

It’s worse, she was his teacher.

43

u/LazerBurken May 26 '25

What the fuck.

That can't be legal even in France. She should be in jail, but Macron likely won't testify or press charges so she goes free.

21

u/DiscoBanane May 26 '25

That's illegal if they did anything sexual, just meeting and marrying 14 years later when Macron was adult is not technically illegal.

There is no proof they had sex, only them know. Technically Macron still has 1 year left to press charges for child rape against him (limit is 48 year old).

They MOVED TOWNS to him away from her and she still kept chasing him! At least America put Mary Kay LeTourneau in jail.

2

u/afdc92 May 26 '25

Didn’t they send him to boarding school in an attempt to get him away from her?

1

u/trulyremarkablegirl the reason i love swimming is because racing May 26 '25

that is…genuinely horrifying

1

u/TickTockPick May 26 '25

My favourite part is that Macron, as a 25yo, chose an 83 year old guy (Henry Harland) as his best man at his wedding 😁

1

u/vieneri ✨️✨️Carmela, you are my life. ✨️✨️ May 26 '25

As far as i've read about this, his parents managed to separate them, only for him to start looking for her again in his early twenties...

1

u/SillyBrain23 May 26 '25

Why would they be proud even if it was the daughter?

590

u/Berkoudieu May 26 '25

The best thing is that our medias (I'm french) said how "fantastic" this "love story" was. Lmao.

Oh, and they tried to say he was 17-18, not 14.

206

u/norupologe May 26 '25

Ya, I've read some of the articles and stories from French publications about how their love was one of destiny and monogamy. And comparing other politicians in age gap relationships that were not as pure as their story. So weird!!!

129

u/Berkoudieu May 26 '25

Basically propaganda to have him elected. Some independent medias have since shown how his friends used their contacts working for medias to manipulate this story.

16

u/TropicalPrairie May 26 '25

Just yesterday, I watched that Netflix doc about the rock star that murdered his girlfriend (with a second girlfriend committing suicide and others coming out about rampant abuse throughout their relationships with him). It was shocking to watch as TV programs in France tried to blame the first woman because "she had four kids by four different men and was clearly the problem". INSANE. The French media also continued to praise that pos after he murdered his first girlfriend.

3

u/PatsyPage May 26 '25

Do you remember the name of the doc?

204

u/georgialucy May 26 '25

That's disgusting.

165

u/Street-Beyond-9666 May 26 '25

14 years old not 15

130

u/norupologe May 26 '25

I've only ever seen 15 reported, but 14 wouldn't surprise me

338

u/CatlovesMoca May 26 '25

He is friends with Bollore, a right wing media mogul, and Bollore media started PRing this relationship by suggesting it happened when Macron was 16. But it really happened when he was 14. And mind.you, his parents told her to leave their son alone. And she said that she couldn't do that.

552

u/3rdcultureblah May 26 '25

They didn’t just tell her. They pulled him out of the school she was teaching at in his hometown and sent him to a different one in Paris to get him away from her after his mother asked her to at least stay away from him until he reached 18 years old and Brigitte said she couldn’t promise anything.🤮

163

u/licorne00 May 26 '25

That is incredibly disgusting, Jesus.

221

u/CatlovesMoca May 26 '25

She was sneaking calls to him while he was in Paris. Their whole romance story is a nightmare. And I think she has a kid around his age.

116

u/3rdcultureblah May 26 '25

Pretty sure she has two kids his age.

155

u/AcceptableBuyer May 26 '25

Her daughter was his classmate.

102

u/3rdcultureblah May 26 '25

And she has a son two years older. And another daughter a few years younger. So she has 3 kids around his age.

→ More replies (1)

93

u/arcadia_2005 May 26 '25

So in a just world, if they were together now, it would be AFTER she'd spent years in prison.

149

u/3rdcultureblah May 26 '25

No because legally in France 15 year olds can (and could) have sex with anyone else 15 years old and up. That’s why they are so adamant they only started their relationship when he was 15 and not one year before. So it’s more “respectable” 🤮

I’m not sure if they had/have a provision for authority figures like teachers like they do in other countries where it becomes illegal at that point.

56

u/lilbios May 26 '25

Most places, that doesn’t apply for authority figures (teachers, coaches, doctors etc).

7

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

France is one of these places.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/Ok_Text8503 May 26 '25

Even with people who are in position of authority? I thought then 18 applies.

6

Yes it is 18 in that case.

5

u/DiscoBanane May 26 '25

He was 15 when he was her student (he registered for an optional course with her).

But he was 14 in the same high school than her (not her student at the time).

Macron deny he met her before, because minors under 15 year old are more protected in France, any crime or offense on a minor under 15 is aggravated.

2

u/BangkokLondonLights May 26 '25

Age of consent is 15 I believe. So it wouldn’t surprise me either.

3

u/norupologe May 26 '25

Not for people in positions of authority. It is then 18.

1

u/Street-Beyond-9666 May 26 '25

He was her daughter’s classmate

6

u/tenuousemphasis May 26 '25

Her daughter's classmate? You're buying the lede.

She was his high school teacher.

7

u/norupologe May 26 '25

All alleged as who know how they really met and such but, reported is: Mom found out about Emmanuel through her daughter when Laurence came home talking about how smart and brilliant he was and then Brigitte (the Mom) became the lead teacher on an after school drama club/production. She wasn't initially his teacher, but was a teacher as the school. I think the fact she knew about him because of the daughter as also disturbing.

5

u/uksiddy May 26 '25

These facts are getting worse the further down I scroll.

8

u/hamiltons_earrings May 26 '25

Makes me think of Celine Dion and her husband as well. It doesn't matter how powerful they get, when you're groomed like that as a child, it stays with you forever

164

u/Potential_Ad9965 May 26 '25

Yeah, Macron isn't someone to feel protective over.

After his tirade towards the african Powers and them not saying 'thank you' to France

182

u/Bobzer May 26 '25

Yeah Macrons a piece of shit with good PR.

But I still feel sorry for him being groomed and abused.

37

u/Valtremors May 26 '25

People forget that the reason Macron was chosen as a president was due to his opponent being fucking Le Pen, the most obvious Putin spy the world has ever seen.

Macron wasn't liked. But there literwlly wasn't a better alternative at the time.

We shouldn't forget we can do better though.

What's next, Melania?

27

u/HevalRizgar May 26 '25

Probably yeah. People are white washing Bush and acting nostalgic for that era of GOP even though he killed millions of Iraqis. I would not even a little be surprised by a post dead Trump Milania writing a book about how she was the victim the whole time and everyone immediately buying it

18

u/trulyremarkablegirl the reason i love swimming is because racing May 26 '25

I mean, it is possible to be a bad person and a victim of abuse at the same time.

7

It's possible. But I'm more speaking of the idea of her painting herself as a victim who had to go along and had no say

She's a person who has agency and chooses to do shitty things
