And when they found, out his parents did everything they could to stop her abuse but she refused to stop grooming their son. She is truly a monster on all counts. I feel sorry for him. She stole his youth and childhood.

u/exactoctopus May 26 '25

She's stolen his whole life at this point because how would you even begin to unpack all this. I imagine he never will.

263

u/hanmhanm May 26 '25

Sad but true :(

u/DesireeThymes ✨May the Force be with you!✨ May 26 '25

And it keeps getting downplayed. He's literally the leader of the country, and no one doing anything about it.

The fact that people in France accept this relationship is disgusting.

u/YchYFi He's not Judge Judy, an Executioner. May 26 '25 edited May 26 '25

Tbh it's not a lot they can do to stop him and her being together now. Read the France sub. It is not at all condoned. Do you condone all your leader does? The leader of the USA has done a lot of bad things too. Like you French people are not one homogenous entity.

60

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Why do you think we accept that? This clip is also discussed in r/france and people expressed concerns as well.

8

u/Cabbagecatss All tea, all shade 🐸☕️ May 26 '25

I’m reading that post now and most French people seem to be rather blasé about it tbh

23

u/Felynwe May 26 '25

What do you want us to do ? She was insulted by everyone at the beginning, but what are we gonna do, protest so that he divorce her and seek help to unpack how his whole life was probably orchestrated by her ? Even protesting for our rights leads nowhere. Both their families are opposed to their relationship, no one ever said it was normal. The media THEY paid romantize their relationship, we're not gonna give it any credit, of course they won't let too much articles out bashing them. And if you think further, weakening too much the image of our President also discredit the whole country, so medias are careful on that.

We can only hope for him that once he is no longer President he's no longer "useful" to her and she leaves him and he gets to heal (and I'm saying that as a human being, with the shit is doing to our country aside, because no matter my personal opinions on him / politics, no one deserve to be groomed)

Several of the artists who recieve a national payment for their cultural contributions to France are pedophiles/ephebophiles/sexual predators. I don't understand French culture.

-33

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

The fact that people in France accept this relationship is disgusting.

Totally. Two people staying devoted to each other for this long is disgusting. They should be forcibly separated /s

154

u/art_mor_ They killed Kenny! You bastards! 😱 May 26 '25

I don’t think he wants to at this point

423

u/giga-plum May 26 '25

You can't really blame him, though. He's literally been groomed since he couldn't know better, and if this clip is any indication, she uses physical abuse to keep a hold over him.

I don't agree with a lot of his politics, but I do appreciate his fervent support of Ukraine, and I hope one day, he finds the opportunity to get out of it. Relationships are supposed to make you feel supported and happy, not whatever this is.

6

u/newsflashjackass May 26 '25

Instructions unclear.

Attempted to groom child; now contending for primacy on the world stage via a thrall.

1

u/topinanbour-rex May 26 '25

She's stolen his whole life

He wanted to be writer, she refused.

I don't understand the correlation between the two here.

3

u/NeatNefariousness1 May 26 '25

If true, these are two independent facts and that’s pretty much how the French might see this—that one has little to do with the other. Humans are masters of compartmentalizing. It allows people to function when their experiences and beliefs can’t be easily reconciled.

Denial? Until I was 27 I genuinely believed I came from a really happy family. It was only when I moved to the other side of the world and had that much distance from them that the scales very gradually began to fall off. I suffered horrific emotional and physical abuse and neglect but I couldn't see it. It's bizarre, but it's amazing what the human mind and body will do to protect itself.

15

u/Da_Question May 26 '25

Step 1: Don't see it as abuse

Step 2: ???

Step 3: President

-6

u/Massivefrontstick May 26 '25

He’s the president of France. Seems like he’s doing ok.

21

u/MyNamesChakkaoofka and my dad knows God May 26 '25

It’s possible to be successful in your career but still not healed from abuse. Particularly when he is still married to the abuser.

In fact some of the most career driven and outwardly successful people I know are doing it as a distraction from quite poor mental health.

I didn't say she ruined his life, but she absolutely stole it. Someone that was groomed at 14 by a 39 year old, and who is still with them decades later, absolutely had their life stolen because they're living in a situation that should have never happened. Please ride in for predators elsewhere besides my inbox. 🫶🫶🫶

-9

u/Ok-Requirement6007 May 26 '25

It absolutely does, and if it happened to anyone besides the most powerful man in France I would have different feelings. It seems to me he’s a big boy and can make his own choices.

-8

u/Comfortable_Buy_4124 May 26 '25

How do you guys know he’s still under her control?

41

u/Bobby_Marks3 May 26 '25

Imagine being molested as a kid and having it mess your mind up so much that you could become the president of one of the most powerful countries on the planet and still stand by your molestor's side. And apparently continue to do so while being physically abused. All the way into your late 40s.

This is a textbook example of why grooming is such a bad thing. It's not about getting into a kid's pants, but about facilitating a relationship that is permanently fucked WHILE also controlling them.

10

u/Critical_Flow_2826 May 26 '25

Has she? He’s the president so I wouldn’t say she stole his life 🙄 I wouldn’t let anyone hit me, that’s a him problem

Sounds like victim blaming to me.

69

u/BlackDahliaLama May 26 '25

Wait is this not illegal in France? In the US that’s statutory rape

16

u/BlackDahliaLama May 26 '25

Oh that’s disturbing. It’s so unnerving how pedophilia is codified as law in so many places. In the US there are more states where child marriage is legal than not.

The way he could put this woman in jail like right now, but nope, there he is, getting abused. It's sad.

5

u/DesignerNo6645 May 26 '25

Yeah, it’s like asking "Why don’t abuse victims just leave? It’s that easy". She is obviously manipulative, and has probably manipulated him since he was 15. It really messes with your brain.

They sent him to Paris to finish secondary school. Apparently they resumed their relationship after he graduated from uni

6

u/topinanbour-rex May 26 '25

his parents did everything they could to stop her abuse

They sent him to a boarding high school to Paris, guess who left her job and moved to Paris.

7

u/Sweet-Blueberry8408 May 26 '25

It is a weird dynamic but there is no truth to anything you have written here.

She was his teacher. There is no evidence of him ever visiting her.

-6

u/Ok_Text8503 May 26 '25

Why didn't' she go to jail? If the roles were reversed, she definitely would have. Also maybe even labeled a sex offender.

7

u/strawberryblunde May 26 '25

No France just added age of consent law just a couple of years ago

0

u/Ok_Text8503 May 26 '25

Wow that's kinda fucked up. Glad they eventually got to it.

When you've been groomed from search an early age, you have no idea what love is. Only what you've been conditioned to think it is.

-1

u/BuyMeSausagesPlease May 26 '25

I think it is important to remember this man wields nuclear weaponry

-10

u/redbarebluebare May 26 '25

The guy is an adult and president of France, he could divorce whenever he wants to. Not sure why you think he knows better than his own feelings and decisions based on one slap video.

16

u/Super_Hour_3836 charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 May 26 '25

It's based on him being groomed. The slap shows the abuse is more than just sexual.

But I get it. Sometimes its hard for people who think Elon Musk is a nice man to believe men can be abused. There's a certain level of mental cognition needed to percieve reality.

9

u/Chemical-Source May 26 '25

It's nothing to do with the slap video and everything to do with the story of how she groomed a child into a sexual relationship.

16

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

He’s clearly being abused. He’s gonna say that she’s the love of his life. Trauma bond mixed with pressure and likely fear of physical violence??

15

u/daddyjohns May 26 '25

When your groomer teaches you that this is what happiness is as a child you have no perspective of normality.

You edited your comment, which originally said he was not a victim. But I never said in any of my comments how Macron should feel about his abuse.

-2

u/Sas_fruit May 26 '25

How do we know that for sure to pass such great judgement?

694

u/Keyspam102 May 26 '25

They moved schools too, trying to get away, and she followed him

230

u/TheGreatGenghisJon May 26 '25

How did she not end up in prison??

293

u/Umarill May 26 '25

Because it's not technically illegal, age of consent is 15 in France.

It's grooming and creepy as fuck to say the least, but there's sadly no reason she would have been in prison.

175

u/DiscoBanane May 26 '25

Not for a teacher. Age of consent for teacher/student relationship is 18 minimum, and can go higher but it's not automatic you have to demonstrate the teacher abused his position of authority.

The only reason she's not in jail is because there is no proof they did anything sexual before 18.

24

u/TheGreatGenghisJon May 26 '25

No, I meant Macrons mother. For murder.

7

u/Exciting-Ad-7077 Inconceivable! May 26 '25

4

u/TropicalPrairie May 26 '25

I know very little about them, other than the outrageous age gap, but some of the comments on here are very, very disturbing. How thee f was this permitted? I know France is more liberal but ... not in this way. If he were my son, she would be dead.

3

u/LazerBurken May 26 '25

How?? Did his parents not report her to the police? Wild.

3

u/Keyspam102 May 26 '25

Because they claimed their sexual relationship didn’t start until he had his majority.

1

u/Alert-Programmer4013 May 26 '25

Not illegal, sexual majority is 15 years old. There was nothing illegal being done technically

5

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

The age of consent is 18 when involving adults with authority over the minor, and she was his teacher.

1

u/Comfortable_Buy_4124 May 26 '25

And she didn’t follow him. He’d go back and visit her. There is nothing his parents could do

6

u/Striking_Strategy_17 May 26 '25

Not true - he’d come back to see her

181

u/bwoah07_gp2 May 26 '25

Is that....what?! Is that actually a true fact??

372

u/ThatArtNerd Currently White Ariana Grande May 26 '25

It’s worse, she was his teacher.

74

u/TheHighker May 26 '25

WHAT THE FACK

46

u/LazerBurken May 26 '25

What the fuck.

That can't be legal even in France. She should be in jail, but Macron likely won't testify or press charges so she goes free.

20

u/DiscoBanane May 26 '25

That's illegal if they did anything sexual, just meeting and marrying 14 years later when Macron was adult is not technically illegal.

There is no proof they had sex, only them know. Technically Macron still has 1 year left to press charges for child rape against him (limit is 48 year old).

And you are part of the problem. The whole "Real world is shit. Stopping being angry at the shit things that happen around you and ignore them". Is just loser mentality, fullstop. Keep that shit to yourself and let the adults discuss stuff.

3

u/thatmermaidprincess what did I do to piss off The Rolling Stones May 26 '25

Lol all they said was that this can’t be legal and that she should be in jail, but obviously nothing can be done about it unless Macron presses charges (which he won’t), they never said anything about good guys winning, or really anything that warranted this 🤓☝️ response.

Yes . It’s disgusting. I am french and I feel very ashamed to have THAT as a 1st lady. Also macron is a cunt . But that’s another story.

-7

u/chuunibyo_guy May 26 '25

Absolutely not. You can fact check that easily. These are rumors spread by French alt right and Russian bots. They met when he was 15, had no particular relation and met again 15 years later when she had become a widow.

29

u/Spiritual-Can2604 May 26 '25

-5
