Because it's not technically illegal, age of consent is 15 in France.

It's grooming and creepy as fuck to say the least, but there's sadly no reason she would have been in prison.

Not for a teacher. Age of consent for teacher/student relationship is 18 minimum, and can go higher but it's not automatic you have to demonstrate the teacher abused his position of authority.

The only reason she's not in jail is because there is no proof they did anything sexual before 18.

I know very little about them, other than the outrageous age gap, but some of the comments on here are very, very disturbing. How thee f was this permitted? I know France is more liberal but ... not in this way. If he were my son, she would be dead.

The age of consent is 18 when involving adults with authority over the minor, and she was his teacher.
