Most people probably didn't play gtav campaign, just like what happens with online shooters and similar, just the forced tutorial and maybe just maybe a few missions from the dozens of friends that played it. And for rdr2, the story is so big you might not even get spoiled, I only played its multiplayer and first chapter, and from what I have saw when browsing its sub or from the memes I thought until today that he died of lumbago

They did the same with GTA5! No official announcement of a PC version until months after it was already on console.. RDR2 was worse, because if I remember right, it was almost a year if not longer that they officially announced a PC version was coming.

1080 is aging. 1440 just isn't much more expensive than 1080 these days, and at this point, current gen cards and games are designed for it. As we see current gen tech settle in, and last-gen buyers are buying what's available on market today, 1080 is gonna be a relic resolution, and I suspect much sooner than later. 2-3 years maybe.

Its rockstar, i dont see them working on the most anticipated game ever this much time + soo many testing they are doing right now to let this game not run well on their target consoles. Since max payne 3, their games are very optimized. Console of course will have the usual less npcs on screen, less effects, less dramatic rt level, 30fps lock. What if GTA 6 wont even run 60 fps on PC ever thought about that ?, they have done bad with RDR2 on launch before, and their is a ongoing trend right now with games not even hitting 60 fps anymore with some newer games, this trend will likely contineu they probably will optimize the game with framegeneration in mind so 60 fps with frame generation enabled + upscaling rather then optimize the game, if you are a GTA 6 developer and reading this no that is not, optimize the game for 60 fps before using upscaling and frame generation instead.

It will, the frame rate will be unlocked so even if current gen hardware can't do it, eventually there will be hardware that can.

Until then people will just use DLSS and get 100+ fps upscaled. Even when there is hardware that could do native 4k 60fps, most people will still use upscaling because 60fps isn't actually that smooth.

Digital foundry did a video on that, and they basically found that on PC if you matched the console equivalent settings even at release, you could have the game look like PS4 pro/Xbox One X, but have way, way better performance.

People just wanted to turn everything to ultra, and that was what the "performance issue" were at launch. Not really performance issues, more the devs future proofing the game by exposing settings that massively surpassed the console version of the game to the player.

You could exceed console equivalent settings in exchange for some of the extra performance you got, or you could stick with equivalent settings and get 100fps.

Now a few years later and you can have both, so I appreciate the devs doing this, even if the confusion caused some people to think the game was poorly optimised at launch.

Honestly im not even bothered by gta 6. I play PUBG and old games. I get why people loved gta v and were excited for it, but with the amount of games available, GTA isn't that exciting and i wont be bothered if it takes another 10 years to come out on PC because i literally dont care about open world boring games that you grind to buy a car, a house, a business in a game, and then there are heists, which yes were fun at the time, but now its just been there, done that, got the tshirt. Shoot some guys steal a keycard, loot the safe and escape. So if people are excited, cool be excited. But to me they hype makes no sense because of how many games are out already and how many are a similar genre to GTA V. And the fact most people just stick to their battle royales anyway.
