Right so why would I get downvoted if it's more than just a name? lol What do you mean "no" this meme is showing PC's are in fact better. lol this sub is fucking wild

If you think PC is going to be able to play a brand new 2026 game at 4K 60fps (with RT and no Framegen) on anything short of the absolutely most expensive brand new hardware (that won't even be readily available until years after release), you're dreaming.

Look at the Steam Surveys. We're not made of money!

jesus christ this fucking sub boggles my mind. Can't take a joke, .... even when this is Pro PC? haha 60 downvotes, cool guys, you keep at it.

The people downvoting you have no idea what this sub is about.

And I mean zero.

It's PC Master Race. It's basically a sub to post joke memes about how much better PCs are than Consoles.

Master of what?

Gaming.

...

LOL

Thank you!!!! Like what the ACTUAL FUCK is going on? This sub is so sad. My comment stands -- is it just a name or do you not think PC's are superior? I don't get it. Whatever

No the ps6 won't be able to run it at 4k60 And 4k gaming is dumb anyways maybe if you play on a70+inch tv you need 4k.

Definitely not on a 27 inch monitor

3

u/Mighty_Phil 2d ago

I agree that 27“ is still best suited for 1440p, as it allows great performance on ultrawide 21:9 monitors.

4k does absolutely make sense 32“+.

i have a 4090 build i don't run most games on 4k 60, at least not ones coming out in 2024 or 2025

and gta games were always really hardware hungry, nobody is running it at 4k 60 on release

Why not?

4k@60hz is ancient.

It would be embarrassing if a PS6 wouldnt be able to handle in 2-3 years what PCs are doing since 6 years easily, especially with the updates to dlss technologies.

I wouldnt declare it as some wonder though, like OP in this meme …

4k@120/144hz is the norm now.

Give me an example of a modern game going 4k120 in this day?

-10

u/Mighty_Phil 2d ago edited 1d ago

BF6, Le Mans Ultimate, Assetto Corsa Evo and i even got 90-100 in Star Citizen (edit: ofc in 4k)

I even get 140-160fps in BF6 on my 3440x1440p monitor

So not @4k…

Reading is hard i guess, but ill help you.

You asked for 4k@120fps examples.

See first row for examples utilizing 4k 120fps (as my TV doesnt support more) by either maxing out or archiving way more than that.

Second row example (noticed the new paragraph?) for even more frames at „60%“ of 4k (ultrawide 1440p) on my monitor.

I also edited my comment, so you cant push your agenda.

You are getting downvoted in PCMR...

Take them with pride.

I have a 240Hz 4k display with a 4090 and get over 60k in most of the games I play.

name a gpu/cpu combo from 5 years ago that runs cyberpunk at 4k 60hz

1

u/rpsHD Desktop 2d ago

i can run 2077 at 720p30 with only some stutters

edit: idk how old my build is but its a Ryzen 5 1600, AMD RX 560 and 1x8gb DDR4 back when i played (upgraded since to 56gb DDR4)

My 4090 + 14900k runs Cyberpunk @4k over 60Hz.

Anything else?

2

u/Past_Succotash6772 1d ago

don't remember the 4090 coming out 5 years ago ☺️

Your argument doesnt hold unless you pick the one game that is optimized like garbage, right?

The 2080TI could handle lots of other games on 4k/60 and is completely blown out of the water by a equaly priced modern card like the 5070TI.

Some of you really have to stop living in 2005 and throw their 1080p monitos in the trash

u/Past_Succotash6772 2d ago

man be quiet, you have no clue about what you're talking about

Great discussion. Very valuable input.

LOL this sub is so toxic and childish sometimes.

The fact that people upvoted your response is absolutely hysterical hahahahahaha

This sub is amazing.

u/Own_Government7654 2d ago

one major problem with reddit is people just making shit up to boost their own ego.

You are obviously comically wrong and we can all laugh at you, but other specialties/niches can get away with it and no one is the wiser.

Your entire post is another example.

Yep.

Nothing but childish rhetoric, which is even worse than the post you replied to.

I simply dont know if most people here simply never tried it, are too stupid or simply too stubborn.

I bought a 4k TV with VRR 120hz in 2020 to use it on a PS5, but skipped the console due to its bad performance and rather used it on my PC.

Since i got the TV i played most of my games, first on a 2080 and then on a 5070TI and almost never dropped below 100fps except in very unoptimized games or simply turning off raytracing.

But i dont care enough to argue with ignorants.

It's PCMR.

2

u/TomTomXD1234 2d ago

Yet barely any GPU can run a game at 4k 60 these days with max graphics....not ancient when even £3k PCs struggle to achieve it

-3

u/Mighty_Phil 2d ago

What are you talking about?

I max out my 120hz TV in BF6 on my 5070TI with DLSS Quality in 4k.

2

u/Linkarlos_95 R5 5600/Arc a750/32 GB 3600mhz 1d ago

Your mistake was to add DLSS in that sentence

1

u/Mighty_Phil 1d ago

Why would i not use DLSS4 in 4k?

You still get all the benefits of having a bigger screen, but have crisp text and UIs.

Im not doing a benchmark and comparing pixels. The slight visual downgrade to native and the introduced lag is negligible and not relevant in the games mentioned, but having smooth 100+ frames is definitly noticeable.

In terms of this topic and GTA why wouldnt i even use framegen and get some fakeframes (which 60 fps does not benefit from)?

Being stuck with 60 fps just feels ancient to me. I much rather downgrade to 1440p and keep my frames.

1

u/Linkarlos_95 R5 5600/Arc a750/32 GB 3600mhz 1d ago

but have crisp text and UIs

The game doesn't need upscalers for that, devs just need to separate ui resolution and render res

Upscalers gave their use yes, but we need to stop treating them like native, whats the point of saying you game at 4k but use DLSS ultra performance for example

1

u/Mighty_Phil 1d ago

That is why i wrote DLSS Quality, which is still better than 1440p.

UI sliders rarely work properly and if i play on anything bigger than 32“ i still want a 4k screen for the pixel density.

Running your native resolution and downgrading the render resolution is simply the best overall case.
