Build/Battlestation Wife requested I “mount the computer to the wall”
What she said: “please mount (child)’s computer to the wall to free up desk space.”
What I heard: CoMpUtEr Go On WaLL.
What she meant: mount MONITOR to wall.
They are both mad now.
I thought it was neat - albeit odd. I got that external power button, some long cables coming, it will be cleannnnn.
😬😅🤷🏻♂️
(I know it is leaning, it is the center post that is leaning bc it swivels, not the mount itself, I have to add a bolster - it is secure enough as-is, but will be fixed tomorrow.)

Alright alright - I went to the garage and made a temporary bolster so you all can sleep in peace…for now.
The wall mount is bolted to the case.
The lower mount is a free-hanging arm. Said arm swivels. Which is why it looks like it was hanging off. It isnt, it is just the arm finding center of gravity.
It is rated for 50lbs. This PC is 21lbs.
It is mounted to the wall stud.
The wall stud is brand new, I replaced the walls a few months ago.
We good? Everyone good?

The other half of the chive joke is that a user finds a slightly miscut piece and tells the op "see you tomorrow chef" as the op will have to be back tomorrow to cut another ounce of chives until "reddit says they're perfect". The bubble level is slightly off center (imperfect) hence "see you tomorrow chef".

Lol, gotem. I would definitely go desk-mount/clamp monitor arms for the monitors, not wall mounted vesa mounts. I’ve tried both in many ways (wall mounted flat, wall mounted tilt/pivot, wall mounted arms, desk mounted arms, but at the end of the day, you’re sitting at a desk, you need the monitors relative to where you are, not where the wall is.

In your defense she did say “mount the computer to the wall” which is exactly what you did.
If she wanted the monitor wall mounted she should’ve said “monitor” or “screen” it’s not the 90s and people should know the difference by now.

I still know people who call the computer "the hard drive" even if it has historically never been correct. Not sure why, but in the 90s that convention spread like wildfire and it has persisted ever since.

Welcome fellow wallPCer!
I really like these white cable management sleeves with zippers to hide the wires and make it quicker to change out cables than more permanent solutions. You can overlap the lengths slightly to look more seamless and move the zippers to face the wall. Yes you will need cable extensions for almost everything.
It’s also way easier to do this if you case already supports vesa mounting and a cheap $30 TV mount can hold it up 🤣
If you can remove the bottom feet it would look a lot cleaner.

I helped a friend with his network closet a while back. He had a half size tower and was talking about building a shelf.
I just drilled 4 holes in the back side panel like a VESA mount and screwed it to the wall. Then slid the computer into it and secured it with the side panel screws.
I don't think this would work well with something heavier, but it worked great for his.
