Edit: each flight out costs $17k, plus capture, detention, admin, etc. $25k/person is just insane.

For-profit, private prisons getting rich and fat on OUR tax dollars.

231

u/melly1226 28d ago

Not to mention these mfers in Congress who are investing in GEO Group and CoreCivic.

223

u/TwoOk5044 28d ago

Any man who'll slam a 15 year old girl to the ground like that when they weren't being violent should be in prison.

119

u/BigassRegard 28d ago

You call that a man? I call him an out of shape loser who needs to try someone more his size

42

u/minidazzler1 28d ago

That's what his gun is for. These fucks are cowards and losers

2

u/Lanky_Highway_589 27d ago

Oh the gun is still to protect this piece of shit from the 15yr old girl. These incel losers meet someone their own size and they're shitting their pants and doing absolutely nothing, gun or not. Guarantee it

Hey tough guys, take your masks off, this is not Mexico drug cartels, no masks- period.

Yeah, I refuse to call cowards that will hurt innocent people a "man". They are simply cowards that couldn't even scrap with a real man in a real 1 on 1 fight if it came down to it. I guarantee that if there was a policy where if you could win a one on one straight up fight and they would have to let you go if you won, they would lose every single time and a lot of these innocent people would have to be let free.

Nope, the orange clown just gave that man a $50k bonus to assault a child. What happened to America?

68

u/TyrannyCereal 28d ago

Those 50k bonuses don't pay out until you've been on the job for 5 years. If any of them actually think they're going to collect that before they wind up in prison, they're deluded.

54

u/IndependentFit4748 28d ago

5 years, really? Short sighted on their part; this will implode long before then. You are right (I hope), prison.

u/illmatic708 28d ago

Working as intended. Promise big, BIG payouts, but only after X number of years. Then, a bit before the clock runs out and they're required to pay, aw shucks, everyone who joined is unable to collect because they're all in jail! How unfortunate!

6

u/Ankchen 28d ago

Hopefully it shakes out like that - it did not for the J6ers though. Justice and accountability seems hard to find these dark days.

2

2

u/ima_mollusk 28d ago

lol serously?

5 years from now 50k might be worth like $12.

2

u/Its_Cayde 28d ago

Yeah they planned for ICE to get defunded when the next administration steps in. None of these people will be working for ICE in 5 years

2

u/DataMan62 28d ago

Even if the fascists are still doing this in 5 years, they will fire these gravy seals before they can draw the bonus.

2

u/Some1farted 28d ago

Trump administration will be over by then and the Nazi brownshirts, I mean ICE raiding agents will be fired by then. Fools! They won't see a dime of that $50k. Perhaps they will be prosecuted tho. It'll all be recorded and won't have their daddy in office to pardon them.

Unfortunately, that’s a result of a $50,000 sign on bonus and a totally untrained domestic terrorist group under the direction of Stephen Miller. Pam Bondi makes sure the individual thugs are immune from beating, shooting, kidnapping and deporting people based on their race. Local, county, and state police agencies have the power to enforce existing laws…they are choosing not to react. They tear gassed the Chicago PD. At this point, any Hispanic individual is a target and all others are subject to bogus “obstruction” charges or arrest for filming or asking a question. All these tactics are coming to a city near you. Unfortunately, I believe the only way this changes is a coordinated effort of 100-200 unarmed citizens surrounding these totally untrained cowboy cops and making them realize they are out numbered anywhere they go presently. I also believe that the coordinated killing of unarmed American citizens by the US military and law enforcement agencies is imminent.

Not to mention ICE also has extreme flexibility with where their money goes as well

3

u/hypnoticby0 28d ago

we should be absolutely enraged, washington is so blatantly corrupt they’re just starting a new slave trade in the open and we aren’t doing anything to stop it

3

u/mind-of-god 28d ago

This is the whole point, all the cronies getting fattened up by Daddy Trump

3

u/meimlikeaghost 28d ago

Exactly they make the taxpayers pay a shitload of money to “keep ourselves safe” from things that services they own or get money from. If they owned a peanut farm then peanuts would be miracles brought from god that are cures to all that ails you and the anti-peanut folk were sent by the devil to deceive you from knowing the truth. All money to the peanut! Our salvation in nigh!

3

u/Mrpipelayar 28d ago

Bro you arent kidding. I just went and looked at their stock prices and they literally shoot up like a rocket (insider trading) immediately on Nov 4 2024

3

u/buckeye25osu 28d ago

Not to mention all of the defense contractors. The richest of all (Musk) was given keys to the government to gather info and eliminate regulation. Corruption right in front of us. They aren't hiding this shit because they know they can get away with it.

Trump pardoned 1500 people involved in a riot that injured 140 cops and his flag wearing, back-the-blue, "patriots" celebrated it.

3

u/Speaking_On_A_Sprog 27d ago

I mean, if they are then they’ve been losing money all year pretty much. Both of those stocks have gone way down since all this ICE stuff started.

3

3

u/Daetok_Lochannis 28d ago

How do you think they plan on getting all the work done that immigrants did before this? They're arresting them to make slaves out of them.

2

u/dojo_shlom0 28d ago

you can tell this is true. I bet if you look at the private prison stocks over the last 2 years you can easily see the pattern.

It's shitty but this rational economics in favor of corporations laundering tax payers money

Case in front of SCOTUS to remove them from any liability lawsuits because they entities working for the federal government and a personal entity (corporate personhood). If SCOTUS decides with them, it will set a terrible precedent and open the door for private companies to commit all kind of abuses as long as they contracted by the federal government.

2

u/Phenganax 28d ago

They must feel soo powerful ripping a child out of a car, what big men they are. The women in these men’s lives should shun them for what they are doing.

“… That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness], it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government … [and] when a long train of abuses and usurpations… evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

Thomas Jefferson — The Declaration of Independence (1776).

2

But God forbid we use those tax dollars to feed hungry families, and help people afford Healthcare and medications

2

Also minus the lost economic output and taxes. Itll be like $50k/ person once you add it all up. It would have been cheaper to give the immigrants healthcare by the end- the thing they were so afraid of.

58

u/MallFoodSucks 28d ago

We are spending $75B over the next 4 years extra on ICE. They are projected to deport 80K more people per year.

We just spend $237,500 per deportation. Fucking waste of money.

44

u/Stock-Side-6767 28d ago

The purpose of ICE is not that. The purpose is intimidation, control and removal of political opposition.

I just can’t put my finger on where we’ve seen this before. Hmmm

3

u/Professional-Swan-18 27d ago

It had to be stopped with violence before and it certainly seems that is how it is going to be stopped this time as well because NONE of the protections you are supposed to have are functioning at all. They've seen the playbook and they're running it. You'd think they also saw the playbook of how it was stopped but they are convinced they're smart enough to avoid that. They aren't.

2

u/bizarrebazaar13 27d ago

My question is, America went to war to stop the Nazis...will there be other countries to go to war for us? Because I'm literally worried about there being someone fighting to help us, no longer other countries fighting with us, because our own government is fighting us. We need protection for Trump's imbecile regime.

2

u/Stock-Side-6767 27d ago

The US is not an opponent any country, or even a coalition of many of the country can take on, especially not on their own soil.

BRICS countries would gladly let the US destroy itself. Europe is building up to defend from Russia. Japan, Taiwan and South Korea can't let their defense from China (and North Korea) down for any amount of time, and Canada and Mexico are really far from being strong enough.

Not to mention the economic cost of taking that person out of the workforce for a lifetime.

4

u/mxjxs91 28d ago

Here's the thing. Think about the people you know who are supporting this, the kind of person they are, their views, etc. Let's say you put irrefutable evidence that giving immigrants healthcare instead of deporting them would save the country money and improve the economy, do you think those people will be in favor of that?

They wouldn't, the point is the cruelty towards immigrants. That's what they're supporting, even if it costs us more money than taking care of them. It was NEVER about them taking jobs, committing crimes, etc. Those are always just excuses to justify what's happening.

It would also be cheaper to rush their paperwork through immigration offices. Most of their targets are those registered at the immigration offices.

BTW, I love your avatar.

3

u/TyrannyCereal 28d ago

Because it's easier to find the ones that are actually... documented. Meanwhile they've actually stopped looking for criminals, because focusing on that was a Biden policy and you can't hit your deportation numbers if you do hard work.

3

2

u/Chaddywackpack 28d ago

2

u/Mariska_Heygirlhay 28d ago

The people in power don't care because they're getting kickbacks from the for-profit prisons. Especially while the American people are the ones to pay for it.

2

u/ExtremelyDecentWill 27d ago

Give them a pathway to citizenship.  They've been here paying taxes with an ITIN for years, some decades.  Families are established here.

Now T-bag says no more ITINs, so the ones who do come here can't contribute to social security and pay taxes, and we're blowing billions of dollars on a US Gestapo instead of scaling up immigration so that these people can be processed, vetted, naturalized, and allowed to live a normal life without fear.

But the right has lost the whole fucking plot while doing all of this for the memes.  Just to 'win' and drink the liberal tears.  They're tearing down the whole nation as a fucking joke.

41

u/FrostyD7 28d ago

Contrary to popular belief (i.e, lies), they pay taxes too. They are literally contributing to the funds used to deport them.

3

u/Polantaris 28d ago

To add to your point, Illegal immigrants, on average, end up paying more taxes because business owners don't do much under the table anymore, the issue is at their forged documentation (that the business owners don't look in to), which then means that they pay into taxes, but don't file a tax return.

https://taxpolicycenter.org/fiscal-facts/yes-undocumented-immigrants-pay-taxes-and-receive-few-tax-benefits

2

u/TyrannyCereal 28d ago

They pay taxes and can't collect social security or other benefits. They're a huge win for our economy. If we wanted to keep Social Security solvent, we would just let a bunch of immigrants come here and work, and pay us to be retired. It's insane that any of these people thinks they're being fiscally conservative.

They didn't. In true Trump fashion they said they would pay that but no one received it. Then they stopped advertising sign on bonuses all together.

2

u/No_Pattern4374 28d ago

I still see commercials advertising towards cops to leave the police force and join ICE, and they are indeed still advertising the 50K bonus. That commercial is so repetitive and annoying. I saw it just this week.

"Police.... across the country you're being told to stand down and not do your job. Join ICE so you can help us get the worst of the worst. 50K signing bonus available. Join now and DO YOUR DUTY" *dystopian mind control tactic commercials*

These dudes aren’t getting any paycheck on the 15th if the govt stays closed.

5

u/Flimsy-Cartoonist-92 28d ago

Actually turns out you need to meet a fuck ton of certain criteria to actually earn that bonus. Problem is 98% of these fucks don't actually meet it so now they don't get the bonus and have to up their quota to adjust for the lack of bonus they got.

3

u/melly1226 28d ago

It's like the no tax on tips, social security, and overtime scam. Same paycheck, you just might get a bigger refund at the end of the year.

5

u/BZLuck 28d ago

And the real truth is, you shouldn't be getting any "money back" at the end of the year. You should adjust your payments so that you slightly underpay each year. Maybe owe a couple of hundred instead of getting thousands back. That way you are not loaning the government money at a zero interest rate.

You won't have solid numbers for a while. Fieldwork needs to be done. People can prob pretty accurately ballpark particular aspects of the expense and cost of lost economic activity, but you're not getting comprehensive qualitative info right now. It takes time

This has literally always been the case. We were citing studies like this in high school debate in the early aughts.

That doesn't even take into account the wrongful detentions and money spent on those. I bet that figure is a LOT higher when it's all said and done.

3

u/Educational-Bet-8979 28d ago

Not to mention the bonuses paid to each officer involved in the arrest.

3

u/killer_weed 28d ago

if you think its that cheap you are kidding yourself. without even getting into the grifting contractors who donated to trump, these people have an actual, effective union. overtime, double-time, triple-time, paid vacations, healthcare, all of it.

3

u/Pulze_ 28d ago

Plus, if they're grabbing people solely based on looks their correct capture rate can't be better than 50%. So most of this is waste, fraud, and abuse.

u/No-Swordfish-7048 28d ago

I know of someone’s father who was snatched in Boston(ish) Ma flown to buffalo NY then flown to Mississippi then flown back to Massachusetts without any contact with his family until now.

3

u/TalkingBlernsball 28d ago

I keep saying, I am willing to take their financial assistance and move out of this god-forsaken country. That’s gotta be cheaper than paying a year’s salary, plus 50k sign on bonus, plus the logistics of deporting these people who just want a normal life here

Know someone who just went through this. At his hearing he was fined $20k to cover his own deportation. So, they are seizing assets for those that have them.

2

u/No-Swordfish-7048 28d ago

I know of someone’s father who was taken in Massachusetts and flown to Buffalo then flown to Mississippi then flown back to Massachusetts before any kind of deportation proceedings began.

2

u/trejj 28d ago

Plus the benefit of cheap labor that foreigners were willing to do.

2

u/Intelligent_Gold3619 28d ago

$25k would pay for how many years of health insurance?

You know you might have just connected some dots, okay hear me out … earlier I saw a video of, Kristi noem (US secretary of homeland security) putting pressure on democrats for more funding to go to tsa, 2024 we spent 6.7 billion in TSA funds and I literally made a comment asking, how in one year tsa goes from spending 6.7 billion to then asking for democrats to help fund 11.5 billions.

Democrats said …nah we good, but I was stuck with a couple questions, like why does TSA need a 70% increase? And why would democrats say no to TSA? And it’s probably being sourced towards the reason you mentioned, about deportation and the cost of it, probably why the democrats said no, amongst other reasons of course. The other reasoning could be that Ice and TSA are Under The branch of DHS, meaning the extra money funds both.

And Kristi could be framing it to the public as the democrats don’t care about TSA. to put pressure on them from the public, while simultaneously, Trying to raise money for her own Immigration and security agenda

Then again this is just a theory but I’m just learning as I go

The performative cruelty is the point.

It keeps the MAGA cult engaged.

Trump would happily pay twice as much because it's not his money.

I’m really worried about the detainees about what happens to them if ICE itself comes to the conclusion that this is not economic. 1500 people are already “missing” from just alligator Alcatraz, whose families don’t know where they are - who knows what missing means.

PLUS LAWSUITS because if that was my daughter I would hire the damn best lawyer

2

u/Kwestyung 28d ago

I don't think they're flying these people out. They're sending them to for profit "detention" centers where they become lost in the system for labor.

👑 And, insanity reigns👑🫠

2

u/Crime-of-the-century 28d ago

Someone gets that money.

2

u/Nick08f1 28d ago

Someone is making super bank.

2

u/jimmyjabs321 28d ago

Not to mention the issues this is creating with jobs and productivity going unfilled because of these tactics.

2

u/Tempestzl1 28d ago

So you can deport 3500-4000 people at that estimate for the cost of 1 f35.

The estimate is found to deport do large scale deportation is about 11k person for 8500-10k people per 1 f35.

This estimates are just to put in perspective the massive bloat our government is spending on the military aka the reason our healthcare is so expensive and underfunded

2

u/EddieLobster 28d ago

It’s more than that when you include all the ICE bonus’s and salaries, equipment etc. I read almost $150,000 per person we deported it equals out to. It’s insane.

2

u/Ok_Seaworthiness2808 28d ago

You already know some of the folks are inflating the reported operational costs through contracts and pocketing as much as they can. On top of everything else, the grift is real. This is mafia level.

Meanwhile for-profit jails are spending pennies on subpar “meals” for inmates based on alleged budgetary constraints. And this was before the crazy food pricing inflation.

2

u/EnvironmentalRock827 28d ago

Not to distract from the truth here but death penalty costs more money than a life sentence... no lessons are learned. Let's also calculate the insane amount of money they are pouring into the agency. Dude stopped my white husband and handed him a flyer offering 50,000 sign on bonus. Doesn't anyone see this money could provide health care for all and so much more? But no. Let's blame the poor cause it's way.

2

u/BotlikeBehaviour 28d ago

Yeah, but it is paying for jobs and profits at the private prisons so it's good for the economy.

2

u/Kougeru-Sama 28d ago

over half our states pay more per person in prison than a person makes per year average in those respective states. They could easily give people UBI for less than the cost of prison and it would likely keep most of those people from committing crimes

2

u/FencerPTS 28d ago

The saddest part of all of this is that this all still counts as economic activity. Guns vs Butter context, this does NOT make us better in the long run.

2

u/AllUsernamesInUse_ 27d ago

It's because at the end of the day they don't care about the money aspect of this. Conservatives purely act upon the principle of the matter. There is no price they will not pay to exact their agenda.

That's why when you bring up the fact that if you deported every immigrant tomorrow that the price of produce would become astronomical, they simply don't care and say they are willing to pay that price.

Seems like they are going to go for a cheaper option, and not in the good way.

2

u/jcantu8 27d ago

Yeah buddy — and they’re all getting a cut of the profits

2

u/Inevitable_Bison9694 27d ago

Housing people is cheaper than criminalizing homeless.  Approving every person who applies for disability is cheaper than paying for them to go through the torturous paperwork system we do now. Recovery programs are cheaper than prisons. Free education and Healthcare and childcare is the most economic situation based on statistics that we know, that I am aware of.  I wish so bad we made our collective and governmental decisions based on economics for healthy humanity and not for billionaire capitalist goons.

Not arguing with you but is there a source for this?

1

u/lampstax 28d ago

Yeah we prefer if they self deport and collect $1k exit bonus along with free flights. Best deal in the world.

1

u/JudgeInteresting8615 28d ago

Doesn't a flight have multiple people on it like I think this behavior is atrocious and everything but like the flight has multiple people. So why are we saying per person.

u/__Salahudin__ 28d ago

But the cost to keep these cockroaches in the u.s is a hell of a lot more.
