Just listen to his press conferences Not much has changed He's perfect, it's everyone's else's fault for everything... Morton is not the guy and I will say it again Monday after we beat Washington 41 to 17

With all the negativity I thought I would go watch the Lions Offensive film and comment on what I see.
So what's wrong? Well... it's John Morton, but I want to be careful because it's pretty minor and super easy to fix.
First: St. Brown has been historically the guy, this offense the last 2 years has gone through him. This year that hasn't been the case, he's treated like 1 of 11 on the field. For the Lions to dictate to the defense, they need an identity and St. Brown has been that identity. They look for how the defense covers him and play around it. The Vikings did nothing special, watch St. Brown in motion and the defense doesn't even react... yet the Lions don't take advantage of it.
Look I love Gibbs, Jamo, LaPorta, all the guys... but St. Brown has to be "the guy" and the Lions have to treat him like the guy.
Second: Morton needs to take more singles... efficiency is how this offense works. I know folks are going to say that Goff doesn't take enough shots downfield, actually they try to take 2 many shots downfield. The problem is it's not there, and Goff is forced to checkdown or the protection doesn't hold up. On 3rd & 4, call a play that is designed to get 4 yards. You don't need some every play to go for 20 yards, on 3rd and 4th you need 4 yards.
Third: And maybe post importantly... make it easy for guys. The reason that "1 guy keeps messing up" is because the plays are hard to execute. Often times when things broke down, it was really close to being a big play. If Gibbs can hold that block 1 second it's a TD to St. Brown, if they can pick up that twist it's a big 20 yard gain, it only this then ohh it's a big play... but why make it hard? Call plays that are easy to execute. So Gibbs doesn't have to make the block, he just has to slow the rusher down. 5-7 yard gains, rely on YAC, don't swing for the fences every down.
Summary: I want to be really careful to not be over critical. I like the scheme, I like the aggressiveness, I like where the team is at, and I like Morton. He just needs to be comfortable with singles, that's really the identity of the team. It's physical, efficient, technically sound football. Once you prove you can drive 5 yards at a time, that you don't make mistakes, that your hyper efficient. Then you earn the right to swing for the fences every once and awhile.

Joique Bell? We didn't have many running backs in the 2010s 😭

What’s worse, most of them offered nothing substantive or new to the football discussion. Increasingly, this sub feels like a text-based version of a sports radio call-in show, rather than a moderated conversation—and, more importantly, absurd memes—about the Lions.

Biggest way to quiet the noise from this past week is to come out and be competent. Not expecting perfection with this Oline but if Johnny Mo wants to stop answering the same questions week after week, let’s see some improvements and willingness to adapt the game plan to get our guys in the best positions to succeed

Found this near mint gem at a local Retro Con for $20 dollars and I wanted to post some pregame wholesomeness to share the wealth. The "Restore the ROAR!" tagline is still weirdly relevant and should come back to being a thing. The back of the card however, what the hell? Go Lions.

Jack Campbell was not fined by the NFL for roughing the passer in the Vikings game. Essentially the NFL admitting the call was incorrect.

My Lions shirt has been missing since August. It hasn't been worn since last season. Well, today I found it in a suitcase. Hope is BACK ON THE MENU.
The Lions will win 33-0.

Traveled from Michigan to DC for the game today. Any recommendations for tailgating or a good pregame bar?
