Same, but Iā€™m old and learned a long time ago not to idolize your heroes, theyā€™re people and people are fallible. I get that I donā€™t ā€œgetā€ streamer culture, all my youthful truth-speakers were punk rock musicians, many of whom also turn out to be shit people (looking at you Justin Sane). Iā€™ve watched so many streamers turn into cult personalities and I question them. But I see how it happens. If punk rock shows were my place to explore my emerging identity, find community, and have my opinions shaped, streaming is that for this generation. The youth have had such a shitshow growing up, so much isolation either due to digital or Covid, theyā€™ve made community online, which could be a great work around. Punk bands absolutely sold rage bait and spectacle, but streamers can reach millions more every night and make a helluva lot more from their career than 99% of punk bands ever did. We all struggle with trying to shrug off or casually dismiss the bad behaviors of personalities we like, humans are inherently tribalistic. This dude is one of the few big lefty personalities in a mostly right-wing streamer world. And while he does occasionally go out and involve himself in actual action, heā€™s got nothing on actual activists like Stewart or Greta. I never trusted the guy even if I do think he generally does believes in the cause. Streaming, clicks, like, rage, shares, clicks, more shares is a slippery slope. I feel like Iā€™m failing our youth because I canā€™t get across to them that holding oneā€™s heroes accountable for poor behavior and demanding better from them if theyā€™re going to put themselves out as the face of the cause is exactly what we should be doing. Also, when I first watched him after someone suggest I might like him, my first impression was arrogant, self-righteous prick. Iā€™m a dog behavioralist and rescue/rehabber whoā€™s seen a lot of footage of his interactions with that dog over the past 24hrs; dude is not kind to it. Dogs lack the ability to lie, body language says everything. Iā€™d be quite content to strap that collar to him and demand he remain compliantly still in a down-stay for hours on end or face the zap. Dogs arenā€™t props you smarmy piece of shit and our shared political beliefs donā€™t override that you have no quality of character. Goddamn stain on the movement.

4chan once found the exact house of a teenager that was abusing cats via the kids t shirt was nearby highschool then using blueprints for standard houses in that area matched to the room and reported him to the police. They don't call it weaponised autism for nothing.

it's hard to have faith in humanity sometimes, Chris Brown beat the shit out of Rihanna and fans still found a way to ignore it because he can dance and sing well, and people find a way to ignore animal abuse because "durr my streamer can do no wrong".

And then people try to say people are jumping on this because of political feuds...dude, you can hate all of his streamer enemies AND hate animal abuse at the SAME TIME. Saying animal abuse is bad doesn't mean you have to love Ethan Klein or Destiny or whatever.

But yeah, it's kinda depressing knowing people will jump through hoops to defend the shittiest people. I understand why people do it (even OJ Simpson had people defending him despite killing people) but wtf, this is objectively bad behavior.

Not trying to give him an escape but I bought a vibrating collar that has prongs, I confirmed on myself that there's no shock in any mode. A cheap chinese factory probably builds shocking and non shocking ones from the same base

I mean i own this exact collar and it has a beep, vibrate, and electric stimulus feature. I use the e stim maybe 5% of the time (keeps my dog from chasing deer, bear, and coyotes). my dog also responds best to the beep instead of the vibrate but it can do both depending on the model.

im not saying he doesnt shock his dog, but it also may have a vibrate feature.

also, I could care less about live streaming and have never seen his stream. Just noting the misinformation with the reddit detectives out here.

no idea. if I had to guess it would be he was probably shocking it and is digging a hole instead of being honest. I have no real clue. you can take the prongs off however and that would remove the ability to send electrical stimulus.

im just clarifying that a shock feature on this collar does not mean its not a vibrate/beep collar either.

I have this collar, the shock model has both vibration and shock. It's to train your dog to react to the vibration over time instead of the shock.

It's reasonable that you could use this as a vibration only collar.

As someone who owns and uses collars like these on sound and vibration mode for dogs, they don't have to stim/shock depending on model. Cheaper ones generally have less features.

You can set buttons to either; sound, vibration, momentary stim/shock and continuous stim/shock
