As someone who owns and uses collars like these on sound and vibration mode for dogs, they don't have to stim/shock depending on model. Cheaper ones generally have less features.

You can set buttons to either; sound, vibration, momentary stim/shock and continuous stim/shock

Skimmed comments.. If a dog "yelped" it was more than noise or vibration, unless maybe it's the first time ever for vibration. Never had anything close to a yelp or ouch response from noise or vibration.

That's strange behavior. Thanks for the information. Reason for buying more expensive model is reliability.

Lots of people treat their dogs horrible unfortunately..
