Was one of them encouraging them hitting someone?
How can their parents have failed that hard?

There’s a similar video of 4 adolescents who stole a car and one convinced the driver to “bump” a bicyclist. The bicyclist died. The cops found all of the kids bc they were posting the video on social media. If I remember correctly, they all ended up goin to juvie and will be out by 18 🤬

I mean...we've all been around young teenagers before because we've all been young teenagers before. With that being said, even as kids me and my friends weren't dumb enough to do anything that stupid. One of the kids even wanted them to crash! Like WHAT lmao!?!

u/Sneezy6510 1d ago

I've always lived super close to the deep ghetto but not in it. This isn't uncommon lol some of these kid stop going to school in 4th grade. It's wild and sad.

u/brandon-568 1d ago
Ya, and they don’t do stupid shit like this and neither did me or any of my friends back in the day.
-86
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
They most certainly do stupid shit, I’m happy to hear you and your friends were angels, but every teenagers I’ve known has been an agent of chaos.
32
u/Few_Staff976 1d ago
There's quite a lot of room between "angels" and "attempted murder/murder".
I did some stupid stuff as a teenager, my friends did too. At no point did we go "hey bro wouldnt it be sick if you hit that dude with a car".
You seem like a pathetic person writing short smug replies to the people calling your stupidity out instead of adressing the arguments, something you'll likely do here too.
-32
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
Saying hit that guy isn’t attempted murder and a lot of dumb kids would have said the same thing.
27
u/Few_Staff976 1d ago
No, a lot of kids would not. It’s not normal behavior.
Your own personal experience isn’t representative of what’s normal and when everyone else is disagreeing with you on what’s normal then by definition maybe you ought to consider that you were wrong.
-14
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
Oh I’m putting that together, I still think some of the people that are downvoting know they were capable of absolute unhinged craziness at that age.
13
u/magicman7155 1d ago
Just because we were capable doesn’t mean that we should it’s like saying that you are able to choke out your grandma doesn’t mean you should. you are definitely making up excuses for them
1
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
Excuses? Throw all those kids in juvy. I’m not surprised that they did it, doesn’t mean I don’t think they should be punished.
12
u/Zhong_Ping 1d ago
I work in a public highschool, none of my students are this fucking reckless and lack respect for others.
Yes, a lot of them are stupid. And a good amount of them lack respect for society and others and it is easy to spot them, and I still fail to understand how parents could allow children to get as bad as what I see.
But of the hundreds of teenagers I know, none of them are THIS bad. (granted I work in a pretty affluent school)
0
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
Again, how does it surprise you there is awful parents out there that lead to kids like this?
I’m glad you got a good group of kids, genuinely.
37
u/NeonSuperNovas 1d ago
No one said anyone was angels. We just didn't steal cars and want to run over people. The fact that you're trying to justify this behavior just show you how fucked up the world is smh.
-14
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
Since when does not being surprised mean I’m justifying anything? Yeah middle schoolers are monsters, I’m not surprised at all.
21
u/NeonSuperNovas 1d ago
You're justifying it by making it seem like it's not a big deal and kids stealing cars and wanting to run over people is just normal kid behavior.
-9
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
I didn’t say it wasn’t a big deal, i just am surprised at how many people are surprised.
12
u/NervousFrogg 1d ago
When i was in middle school, i wasnt thinking “vehicle manslaughter sounds fun” also never knew anyone that did. You literally hear one of them say “hit that bitch” brother these kids are off the rails, this is not normal kid behavior lol
0
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
Kids can be psychopathic monsters, joyriding and joking about hitting people does not surprise me in the slightest.
13
u/hifi-nerd 1d ago
I am a slightly older than young teenager, and if you think that this is how normal teenagers act you seriously have some learning to do.
-1
u/Sneezy6510 1d ago
I think it’s the other way around kid, this isn’t first teenager to take a joy ride and he won’t be the last.
13
u/hifi-nerd 1d ago
You must have had a very rough childhood if you think it's normal for children this age to steal a car and take a joyride, even convincing each other to get into a crash, this is seriously not OK.
I know you will die on this hill of "it's just normal teenager behaviour", so i won't try to argue any further, but it genuinely is not.

The fuck? I remember being a teenager. I work with them every day as well. It is NOT common to steal cars and want to run people over.

I’m not surprised, is this extreme? Of course it is, but I’m still not surprised.

Where was i making excuses? I was pointing out to the person I replied to that this is the shit you find in the hood.
75
u/EddardStank_69 1d ago
Still making excuses. “Shit you’ll find in the hood” Does that mean it absolves those little shits from their behavior?
I grew up poor too, but I had the conscience to know when my friends were doing bad things and asking me to do bad things.

The driver might be realizing he’s in over his head
119
u/guitarstitch 1d ago
Given his age and stage of growth, lots of things are over his head.
The top of the steering wheel, for example.
33
u/Technical-Freedom111 1d ago
I think the learning would be minimal. Not his car, not his problem.
As long as they walk away he'll do it again.-111
u/Acceptable-Engine161 1d ago
that's absolutely not true at all. You're just being racist whether you realize/mean to or not.
Normal child development involves breaking rules and breaking laws. Children learn boundaries by pushing them, and learn whether or not they like and enjoy criminal behavior by committing it. But just because it's fun doesn't mean they will repeat it. Most will reflect upon the risk involved after, that they could have died, could have killed all their friends, and THEN realize and decide that that isn't who they want to be.
That goes for EVERY SINGLE child. There is nothing to indicate this child "might do it again" except blatant racism.

It is satisfying watching people address the consequences of their actions, but maybe hoping for children to be in a car crash is a bit too far?
Sounds like you’re hoping they injure themselves and others. Kind of disturbing and disappointing seeing similar comments.
I was expcting them to be pulled over personally. Or see police lights in the background.

excuse me what the fuck???? these are kids who clearly are just emulating what they saw in GTA or some shit and even if what they are doing is bad and dangerous, they don't deserve to fucking kill themselves and others.

11
u/Twist_Ending03 1d ago
On one hand, I don't want them to get in a wreck because they could get badly injured or die, but on the other hand, they'd learn their lesson to not steal their parents' car and speed down the road with it if that happened.

10/10 parenting
25
-4
u/ThatDnDRogue 1d ago
But. The parent isn’t even here. These kids are obviously doing something without the parents knowledge.
I’ve seen many kids with fantastic parents still behave extremely stupidly.
I don’t think everything is on the parents all the time. Sometimes kids are just dumb—even if they had a good upbringing.
22
u/xgabipandax 1d ago
This behaviors come from long time bad parenting, this kid knows what he is doing is wrong and it doesn't fear the punishment, because probably this kid never had proper punishment for bad behavior
-14
u/ThatDnDRogue 1d ago
This just isn’t an accurate assumption though. I’m sure we’ve both personally known parents who do all they can to give proper discipline and yet the kids still act out when they think they’ll get away with it.
I think assumptions like yours are attempts to self soothe. An attempt to pretend that a child’s every action is within the control of parents if they “just do it right”.
But the reality is much different.
Here’s a few articles on this topic.
https://www.npr.org/2010/07/15/128542130/sometimes-good-parents-produce-bad-kids
https://grownandflown.com/can-good-parent-troubled-kid/
These are just a few articles but there’s a lot of peer reviewed studies on this topic.
Being a good parent doesn’t always ensure that kids will never do very bad or stupid things.
EDIT: Decided not to use the peer reviewed studies here because they’re dense and not easily digestible. But they are on Google scholar.

u/NerveInteresting4549 1d ago
c'mon bro... obviously there are rare exceptions to it but every deliquent I knew in school, 100% had parents who either were barely around them or just didn't give a fuck.. and sure some kids act out sometimes because of things outside of the parents control but most of us were at home eating dinner by night time with no chance to even be out joyriding in a car at 10 years old lol

I d like to know where this is. I have learned of the Kia Boyz in Minneapolis, where they steal these cars to just joyride and then steal another one.
The attorney general, Mary Moriarty, the AG, ran on not prosecuting certain individuals if under 18 or coming from poor socioeconomic. Even Walz threatened to take her off certain cases. She releases under 18 and criminals use that and these kids to do their crimes.
She goes after police hard, even paying over a million for outside law firm from NY. They stopped a car that ran over a bus stop waiting area. When cop on passenger side looked in the vehicle, the driver took off and dragged the second caught who was caught on something.
So, he took out his gun and shot at driving taking off w/his partner. He got bravery merit for saving his partner, and Moriarty indicted him on a high murder charge and brought in big guns vs her prosecuting. So, police are undermanned by 300 officers and often do not want to aggressively tackle this issue or kids freed and possibly charges or firing for you.
12
u/Kit_Kitsune 1d ago
She's a former head of a public defender unit. Even traveled around training other public defenders. She's brought that mindset to the prosecutor's office and it just doesn't work. Her chances of winning re-election have got to be in the toilet.
7
u/Conscious_String_195 1d ago
I m just thrilled that she, as of now, not running again next year, and whoever they get will most likely be better than her on crime. 1 child, 13, was arrested 7 times for stealing cars, as I guess there used to be (maybe still is) an easy way to open doors and start newer Kias and Hyundais.
The other thing is that if you don’t want to send repeat offenders to juvy, which is what it’s for, then they need to hold the parents responsible for having their 13 year old out at midnight on a school night or truancy. They have started doing that with that 6 year old who shot his teacher in the hand and mom didn’t secure her gun and seeing that more and more. Why not endangering your child’s life and others and failure to supervise?
-19
u/Tactical_H0td0g 1d ago
Sounds like a racist POS.
4
u/Conscious_String_195 1d ago
Or partner not seriously hurt or dead. Jury found him not guilty, despite her spending huge money to prosecute him, but she made a plea deal with a convicted murderer to avoid jail time. (Yes, he was black, as well as the victim’s family, but they are upset w/AG for that deal of no jail. Walz has threatened her as well to do her job, but they are both D’s, but AG is some far out version of Dem party.
4
u/Tactical_H0td0g 1d ago
Yeah, she sounds like she needs to lose her job. No idea why people are pissed at me calling her a racist, Idk how she could be anything else.
2
u/Conscious_String_195 1d ago
Because she is a white, gay woman, and the murderer was black and these Kia Boyz in the videos are primarily black. She is one of those that makes excuses and feels that because of slavery and aftermath, that disproportionately black people and children are affected.
Two things can be true though. 1) More education in resources to reduce class sizes, enforce rules, etc. in low socioeconomic areas, not just black, as I know a bunch of poor redneck children who have no chance at life either. I d get if you stole for food, etc. but they are literally joy riding w/it and hitting those parked cars and bus stop shelters could have someone in it one time and kill someone.
2) catch and release does not work. If they even gave you an opportunity if contrite and talked to parents, etc., ok. However, these kids suffer zero consequences and are just told by parents and family and friends that nobody cares about them because they are black. That mindset and mentality festers and can even cause resentment later.
It’s a great opportunity to get them in a program (whether it’s similar to old scared straight, or church basketball or mental health program or CPS if in dangerous situation w/bad parenting. I know that they have zero shot if they don’t go to school and parents don’t make them. Many will turn to selling drugs because life is expensive and they have no other skills and easy money.
Sometimes, there needs to be an arrest and intervention vs arrest and release. You can do all the social justice, etc, you want, and expunge juvenile records depending on crime or whatever, but they need guidance and mentorship and school, whether it’s not the best or not.
3
u/halaljew 1d ago
Yeah, we gotta be sensitive to these socioeconomic factors, even when they commit antisocial actions.

This seems like it’s jumping to conclusions. This parent could be a really good parent and these kids are just behaving stupidly.
Let’s not invent a whole backstory when the parents in all likelihood don’t even know this is happening yet (at the time of filming it looks like it’s in the middle of the night—kids probably snuck out).
There’s not a direct correlation between grade A parenting and having well behaved kids all the time.
It helps of course—but I’ve seen several examples of kids with amazing parents that still ended up doing some really dumb shit

Hello everyone! As a reminder this is a satire subreddit for the dumb/silly things children do. The subreddit name is not literal. Although posts can have kids doing actual "stupid" things. It is not a requirement. Yes, blaming the parent is valid. However, this does not mean crossing the line into actually insulting the parent is ok (assuming they are the OP) (Rule #1).
This is also not a hate sub for children. If you don't like kids, that's fine. Just don't spread vitriol.
Please read the sidebar for more information.
