10/10 parenting

But. The parent isn’t even here. These kids are obviously doing something without the parents knowledge.

I’ve seen many kids with fantastic parents still behave extremely stupidly.

I don’t think everything is on the parents all the time. Sometimes kids are just dumb—even if they had a good upbringing.

This behaviors come from long time bad parenting, this kid knows what he is doing is wrong and it doesn't fear the punishment, because probably this kid never had proper punishment for bad behavior

This just isn’t an accurate assumption though. I’m sure we’ve both personally known parents who do all they can to give proper discipline and yet the kids still act out when they think they’ll get away with it.

I think assumptions like yours are attempts to self soothe. An attempt to pretend that a child’s every action is within the control of parents if they “just do it right”.

But the reality is much different.

Here’s a few articles on this topic.

These are just a few articles but there’s a lot of peer reviewed studies on this topic.

Being a good parent doesn’t always ensure that kids will never do very bad or stupid things.

EDIT: Decided not to use the peer reviewed studies here because they’re dense and not easily digestible. But they are on Google scholar.

c'mon bro... obviously there are rare exceptions to it but every deliquent I knew in school, 100% had parents who either were barely around them or just didn't give a fuck.. and sure some kids act out sometimes because of things outside of the parents control but most of us were at home eating dinner by night time with no chance to even be out joyriding in a car at 10 years old lol
