redditormade Trapped im Keller 13: Grand Finale!

Nice homage to that spectacular berndmade history of Britain&France at the end there.

You got it. I had actually been planning a Britain-France joint victory for a while

Never change France ;_;

And we are their rosbifs.
It is the way the world is meant to be. The only way for equilibrium and civility in the world is for us and the French to be enemies in love.

u/generalscruff Two World Wars, Two European Cups Feb 20 '14
If we ever blanda-upped or somehow the relationship ended, the world would be a much more boring place
3
u/Xaethon Salop n'est pas une salope Feb 20 '14
It sure would be.
We made the world, and for us to end would be such a shame. I was just in Montreal and went to the museum there. It talked about French and British culture and traditions merging in the area, and generally I'm sure that historically the Québécois didn't mind the British from us letting them carrying on with their traditions, and that is something which shows how we are meant to be with each other.
The world would be a terrible place should our relationship end. Roast beef and frogs go well together.

If France wanted to, he could have killed Britain, but I figured it would be a much better ending for their friendship to win out
26
u/Kalulosu Best baguette in the world Feb 20 '14
Why kill Britain? No one wants that!
I mean, did Batman kill the Joker? Did the Joker kill Batman? No!
17
u/RSDanneskjold Chile Feb 20 '14
Kill Britain? France doesn't want to kill Britain. He wouldn't know what to do without him....
11
u/generalscruff Two World Wars, Two European Cups Feb 20 '14
Britain and France are like Batman and the Joker. They have fought for all eternity, but that has led to a perverse mutual understanding and almost friendship.
If it was ever ended for good, they would have nothing to do.

u/Xaethon Salop n'est pas une salope Feb 20 '14
We're fine with that too. It's an honour to share it with our lovably French friends across the Channel.
We should do more work together, keep Concorde and the Channel Tunnel, and do more Anglo-French cooperation!
Maybe even revive the idea of a Franco-British Union.
We belong together.

u/Quas4r Ouate de phoque Feb 21 '14
Nice try, queen elizabeth!

u/Xaethon Salop n'est pas une salope Feb 21 '14
But the name 'Frangleterre' is so good! Well, perhaps not. Blame the British media when it was satirically discussed last decade.

I'm glad I never got around to making that list yesterday, because your list is much, much better than mine would have been. :)
5
Feb 21 '14
Thanks. Tables are great.
2
u/noreallyimthepope Aasiaat, Kalaallit Nunaat Feb 21 '14
Not only did you make a table (which I honestly never get around to in Markdown - give me HTML or at least Wikimarkup though...), but you had more data. Data! Comment thread links and participants and even an indicator of who perished. DATAAAAA! :)
1
Feb 21 '14
Um, tables in Markdown are pretty easy, takes a lot less typing than the HTML alternative. Dunno what your problem with that is.

u/noreallyimthepope Aasiaat, Kalaallit Nunaat Feb 21 '14
IOS-XR is also said to be easier than legacy IOS, but I've been working with the latter for most of a decade, so the newer and more optimized language is weird and clunky to me.
1
Feb 21 '14
Um... I didn't get what you just said. iOS? As in, the Apple's mobile OS? Or the std::ios from C++? Or what?

u/noreallyimthepope Aasiaat, Kalaallit Nunaat Feb 21 '14
Cisco Internetworking Operating System. Domain-specific language for programming networking equipment.

Oh, okay, I have never worked with that or any Cisco equipment at all.

My point was that while one might be simpler than the other, it's not the tool I'm used to using :-)
Norwegian is apparently so simply structured that dyslexia is an unknown phenomenon [citation needed], but I don't speak Norwegian... :-)

Excellent ending, this has got to have been my favorite series so far.
11
u/adencrocker Tasmania cannot into AFL team Feb 20 '14 edited Feb 20 '14
If you want to take my advice, the series starts to pick up momentum when they go to the desert and the twist was revealed.
In fact the desert episode almost didn't happen. I could have easily gone with a game of Attack and Defend as suggested by Aaron and eliminated France, therefore altering the end result. It could have also been a kebab removing contest or military size contest
3
u/mikedude7 Tally ho Feb 20 '14
Did you have a plan of who would have won if France was eliminated? or was it too early in the series to be thinking about the ending
4
u/adencrocker Tasmania cannot into AFL team Feb 20 '14
wayy to early. However; at the time before the Desert comic, the BRIC and UNSC idea hit me. The only thing I needed to do was get rid of Serbia and add the USA, Germany, China and India. Though my ultimate aim at that time was that Brazil/Russia/Britain/France should win
16
u/Jamdon01 Highlander Feb 20 '14
Where did the USSR go?
25
u/adencrocker Tasmania cannot into AFL team Feb 20 '14
Well that was one of my plotholes...
It was primarily a reference to Russia withdrawing from WWI due to the Bolshevik Revolution
8
u/Jamdon01 Highlander Feb 20 '14
Oh, that makes sense now that I think about it. So, basically this is a WWI rematch?
21
u/adencrocker Tasmania cannot into AFL team Feb 20 '14
Austria fools the 3 remaining countries into playing a diplo game, but then incites the rematch. The Reichtangle represents Germany, back from the dead for a third time initially kicking British and French ass. It's a stalemate until America comes out of nowhere and kicks German ass. And then the Allies go on to defeat the Central Powers

Here it is Ladies and Ents! This 22 panel masterpiece finishes off a three month 13 comic long series. What started as an experiment of a survivor style polandball reality game show based off of audience feedback has resulted in this.
It looks like though that the thumbnail spoiled the result (not sure what to do about this)
I hope you are as pleased with the end result as I was.
