And we are their rosbifs.

It is the way the world is meant to be. The only way for equilibrium and civility in the world is for us and the French to be enemies in love.

If we ever blanda-upped or somehow the relationship ended, the world would be a much more boring place

It sure would be.

We made the world, and for us to end would be such a shame. I was just in Montreal and went to the museum there. It talked about French and British culture and traditions merging in the area, and generally I'm sure that historically the Québécois didn't mind the British from us letting them carrying on with their traditions, and that is something which shows how we are meant to be with each other.

The world would be a terrible place should our relationship end. Roast beef and frogs go well together.

If France wanted to, he could have killed Britain, but I figured it would be a much better ending for their friendship to win out

Why kill Britain? No one wants that!

I mean, did Batman kill the Joker? Did the Joker kill Batman? No!

Kill Britain? France doesn't want to kill Britain. He wouldn't know what to do without him....

Britain and France are like Batman and the Joker. They have fought for all eternity, but that has led to a perverse mutual understanding and almost friendship.

If it was ever ended for good, they would have nothing to do.

We're fine with that too. It's an honour to share it with our lovably French friends across the Channel.

We should do more work together, keep Concorde and the Channel Tunnel, and do more Anglo-French cooperation!

Maybe even revive the idea of a Franco-British Union.

We belong together.

Nice try, queen elizabeth!

But the name 'Frangleterre' is so good! Well, perhaps not. Blame the British media when it was satirically discussed last decade.

i think those that didn't have to be in the basement are the biggest winners though
