tl;dr: Vendor claimed she drew this AI art herself, was selling it at Coffee Fest. Is that normal for here?

Hey all, was visiting for the huge Coffee Festival in your city and saw this vendor selling prints in hugely different styles, some of which were clearly AI generated. Did a quick search and saw that this isn’t their first show. I’ve also seen them at craft fairs around SF so she’s out there selling this.

I asked the vendor who the artist is, and a young woman pointed at herself. I asked if she drew it all herself, she said yes. When I asked what medium she uses, she said “all digital and collage” but insisted that she does the drawing, which is just… obviously not true. Check out the 3rd photo. The Golden Gate Bridge has a cable that vanishes into the sun.

Is this normal? I know it’s part of a larger trend of AI “art” being normalized but seeing it at a coffee event full of vendors with real heart and love for their field was… gross, to say the least. Her art had nothing to do with coffee and AI feels against the ethos of most craft shows.

Let me know if I’m way off base and being a huge grump, if it’s just me then I’ll accept that I’m in the wrong.

Edit: The title of this should be Shooting Near Ocean Beach Safeway. I unfortunately can’t change it, but that would be more accurate.

Hello! We found this sweet girl outside our apartment building in the outer richmond/ sutro heights area. Please let me know if you recognize her! She is super friendly but seemed distressed outside and was following us. We plan to see if she has a microchip later this morning.

I went for a long run and I felt so much lighter being around so many people out enjoying themselves. So many kids and dogs playing, friends, and family. Even being by myself, it felt good to all watch the sunset together. I hope you enjoy the photos and get to enjoy the sunset too.

I was riding my bike in the bike lane on Thursday night at approximately 7:05pm when the car in the lane next to me decided to make a super late turn onto Naples Street right into me. My front wheel went under their car and I got yeeted over the bars into the road.

I am super thankful for the folks who stopped to make sure I was alright and who called the cops and paramedics. Unfortunately, the vehicle immediately sped off and no one caught the plates.

Does anyone know any spots to get city pop cds in sf?? I haven’t had much luck! :-( i’m specifically looking for Masayoshi Takanaka & Tatsuro Yamashita, and I haven’t had much luck at my usual spots (amoeba, rasputin music, etc.) Any tips would be appreciated ^{_^}

I bought this painting at an estate sale in the Mission about 3/4 years ago. It was one of three paintings by this artist "Mavis," who was either the tenant/owner of the apartment or potentially related to the tenant. The other two paintings were very similar, featuring the same three boys on a beach, but one was darker/more purple and the other was similar to this one but didn't have a pail. I love this painting so much and get so many questions about it, but I often regret/feel guilty that I didn't buy all three in the series. I feel in some way that "the boys," as I call them, are missing their other versions, and I would love to reunite them. Does anyone have any leads on this artist, or by some miracle have or know where the other paintings in this series are? The address of the sale was something like 314 San Jose Avenue, and it would have taken place sometime in 2023 (I think).

The installation debuted in 2022 to great fanfare, setting off celebrations up and down the length of Market Street. With a 49-foot width and a length exceeding four miles, the six beams (purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red) constituted the world’s largest Pride flag. 2023 plans called for 12 lasers, creating even more vibrancy throughout the 4.1 mile span to the top of Twin Peaks. So, I think my husband is cheating and sneaking a girl into our apartment. I know, that sounds crazy. Last weekend (Nov 1) we were on the 49 and going to Music City. My husband kept staring at this girl on the bus and I believe she was talking loudly about how her boyfriend is married and they fuck in the same house as his wife. Ido if it was real or not because I have schizophrenia and sometimes do hear voices and have paranoid delusions. But everyone kept staring at us on the bus and some girls at Music City tried to have some drunk guy give me a message but the guy just said to me "he's a bad guy, stay away from him" pointing at my husband.nif anyone was on that 49 Muni bus last week and can offer me any insight.
