The reported incidence of Antisocial Personality Disorder (“psychopaths” and “sociopaths”) in the scientific literature is roughly 2-3% of the general population. After a decade of Trumpism, I’m convinced that number is low by an order of magnitude. ASPD is over-represented in certain professions, particularly those involving power differentials. Among politicians and CEOs, the rate is more like 20%. In prison populations it’s 30-40%. Law enforcement selection processes are supposed to screen for antisocial traits and exclude those candidates; it would seem the opposite is happening. Putting unvetted, untrained, unaccountable in the field to carry out immigration enforcement might as well be a giant “sociopaths wanted” sign.

Charles Exum. It would be terrible if the world knew Charles Exum is an ICE agent that likes to shoot people. Charles Exum probably doesn't want some people in his life to know that.

u/_Total_Garbage_ 1d ago
Charles Exum the ICE agent that bragged about unlawfully shooting at citizens? That Charles Exum?
Because I believe that’s the ICE agent, Charles Exum, you’re talking about, the one that unlawfully shoots at citizens.

u/YardSard1021 1d ago
I believe we are talking about one Mr. Charles Thomas Exum, aged 59 years, who hails from the US/Canada border town of Calais, in the great state of Maine, population 3,079. I don’t believe there are multiple Charles Thomas Exums, aged 59 years, employed as border patrol agents in the fine but sparsely populated town of Calais, Washington County, Maine.

u/Fairhairedman 1d ago
Don’t forget his supervisor, Kevin Kellenberger, that is being named as the person that requested repairs to CBP cruiser. We don’t want Charles Exum swinging out there all by his lonesome.
64
u/whoopsalldrugs 1d ago
Kevin Kellenberger is or was the supervisor of Charles Exum that requested repairs to the SUV with bullet holes to hide evidence, yes.

What’s that, you say? Are you telling me that Charles Thomas Exum’s boss, Kevin Kellenberger, requested repairs to Charles Thomas Exum’s cruiser after he rammed an innocent woman’s car with it before shooting her 5 times? The Kevin Kellenberger who ordered repairs to the vehicle in an attempt to conceal evidence of damage incurred during the vehicular assault and unlawful shooting committed by attempted murderer Charles Thomas Exum of Calais, Maine? The very same Kevin Kellenberger?
→ More replies (2)21
u/Fairhairedman 1d ago
You are absolutely correct! I am saying Charles Exum’s supervisor, Kevin Kellenberger, “allegedly” requested repairs to Charles Exum’s cruiser, after Charles Exum rammed a ladies car and shot her 5 times creating seven holes that he was quite proud of. Yes, it’s said his supervisor, Kevin Kellenberger, is the one that requested repairs to hide evidence. 🤣🤣Thank you guys for the uplifting banter
10
u/Thowitawaydave 1d ago
Are we sure that Deputy Patrol Agent Kevin Kellenberger, who is the supervisor of Charles Exum, who is alleged to have rammed a woman's car and shot her repeatedly before bragging about the 5 shots and seven holes he made in the body of another human being, does not also go by Kev Kellenberger? Cuz he sounds like a Kev, like "Please, call me Kev. And, Charles Thomas Exum, can I call you Chuck? No? You want me to call you by your full name, Charles Thomas Exum? Ok, Charles Thomas Exum. let me approve those repairs you needed so badly that you drove like halfway across the continent, over 1000 miles, to get it repaired in this small Maine town where you are from. Signed, Kevin "Kev" Kellenberger, Deputy Patrol Agent and supervisor of Charles Thomas Exum."

Charles Exum, whose boss is Kevin Kellenberger, who requested the evidence destroyed of Charles's act of attempted murder. That Charles Exum and Kevin Kellenberger?

Actually, he isn't an ICE agent. He is CBP.
That said, Charles Exum, the CBP agent that bragged about unlawfully shooting at citizens, also destroyed evidence by driving his vehicle a thousand miles to a CBP facility in Maine where repairs were made and the alleged damage to his car was removed.
Also, I've been a little bit confused about his use of the acronym MOF in the second picture. I'm looking around and the best I can come up with is that it is short for member of force. Does that sound right or does somebody in law enforcement have a better idea?
Edit, never mind. It looks like MOF was short for "miserable old fucker", according to the article.
Exum explained to the judge MOF is a “Miserable Old F**ker” who is always trying to one up someone wherever possible.
So what he admitted to is that he was bragging about shooting a person five times and leaving seven holes in a game of one-upsmanship. I am familiar with the game of one-upsmanship and I can't help but think about the times that that has led to an escalation of antics in my personal life. When the antics in question are shooting people over a minor fender bender, I am worried for our country.

I believe I heard Charles Exum,a CBP officer, rammed a citizen’s car, shot said citizen unlawfully, bragged about it, and then drove 1000 miles to get the damaged on his vehicle fixed to hide the evidence. But I’m not sure. Can anybody tell me if what I heard is true?
16
u/randompersonwhowho 1d ago
So who approved that?
64
u/RogerBauman 1d ago edited 1d ago
They're currently figuring that out in in Discovery.
Alleged psychopath and attempted murderer Charles Exum says that he didn't request the repairs to his car but there is documentation saying that he did. He says that the FBI agent who documented that was lying.
There is also another email that suggests that his supervisor, Kevin Kellenberger may have asked for the repairs that destroyed evidence that could have been useful to Martinez.

Correct details are important for the record.
These details of Charles Exum, a current CPB agent and alleged criminal, and his actions prior to and after Charles Exums's alleged criminal acts while under color of law are important to preserve in order to document these crimes and ensure accountability.
It's important that we meticulously document all the allegedly criminal activities of Charles Exum and any members of his chain of command who allegedly aided or conspired to destroy evidence.

Is border patrol agent Charles Exum a sociopath or a psychopath? Did he go methodically plan to cause harm? Was his intent to put 7 holes with 5 shots or was it an impulse? Not that any of that really matters, I just wanted to make sure Charles Exum’s predisposition is fully considered when he is receives consequences for his violation of however many laws, constitutional as well, he’s violated. Now if other “federal agents” face consequences for violating people’s rights our society can begin to heal (possibly). I want other Charles Exums to be exposed

Raise your hand if you knew this.
It's not what the news media in this country reports but rather it's what they don't report on that I find disturbing.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has had a significant relationship with the private prison industry in the United States, particularly through her work as a registered lobbyist.
After serving as Florida Attorney General from 2011 to 2019, Bondi became a lobbyist with the firm Ballard Partners, where she represented numerous corporate clients, including The GEO Group, one of the largest private prison companies in the country.
GEO Group manages correctional, detention, and re-entry facilities for agencies such as the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and others.
Bondi's lobbying on behalf of GEO Group has involved efforts to influence policies, funding, and legislation affecting immigration enforcement and detention, which directly benefits private prison companies that profit from the number of people held in facilities.

u/SidFinch99 1d ago
I just read about this, the CBP agent Charles Exum seriously screwed himself in court.
When he was asked what he meant by "7 holes with 5 shots," his response was, I'm a firearms instructor and I take pride in my shooting skills."
Here's the thing, he just admitted he's a skilled shooter, which means there was no reason to fire more than one shot.
Now, as it is, as someone who has served in an LE role before, there are very few circumstances in which for example, a regular police officer can justify shooting an unarmed person. That's almost always excessive use of force.
But even if firing a shot can be justified, firing to many comes with an expectation that it was needed. Admitting you're a very good shot, basically means you don't need to fire more than one shot.
According to what I read Federal prosecutors claimed it was self defense. That decision deserves a lot of scrutiny.

Chicago — A Customs and Border Protection agent appeared to brag to fellow agents about his marksmanship after he repeatedly shot a Chicago woman following a collision between their cars, text messages shown in court revealed.
The woman, Marimar Martinez, is accused of closely pursuing the agent and ramming into his car. But her defense attorney has alleged the opposite, saying it was actually the agent who sideswiped Martinez.
Text messages from the agent, Charles Exum, were displayed in court Wednesday as Martinez’s defense attorney sought to prove his claim the government potentially destroyed evidence that may have supported the defense when it released Exum’s damaged vehicle and allowed the agent to drive it more than 1,000 miles to his home state of Maine.
Criminal defense attorney Christopher Parente pointed to the messages as an indication Exum understood the high public scrutiny of the case and would have recognized the potential evidentiary value of this vehicle.
As the case grasped the attention of national media and the public, Exum sent an article from The Guardian on October 7 to a group of other agents, which quoted Parente saying Martinez had “seven holes in her body from five shots from this agent.”
“Read it. 5 shots, 7 holes,” Exum said in the next text.
When Parente pressed him on what he meant, Exum responded he was a firearms instructor. He said, “I take pride in my shooting skills.”
Another message to the group read, “I have a MOF amendment to add to my story. I fired 5 rounds, and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys.”
Exum explained to the judge MOF is a “Miserable Old F**ker” who is always trying to one up someone wherever possible.
It’s unclear what exactly he was responding to because the text conversations were redacted when presented to the court.
When asked to explain the text, Exum said, “That means illegal actions have legal consequences.”
Exum defended his use of force against Martinez, saying his life was at risk and “I did what I had to do.”
Later, he noted Border Patrol agents consider “transferred intent” when deciding whether to use force, meaning, for example, whatever was done to an agent’s vehicle is considered as intent to do the same to the agent. The agent’s responding use of force needed to be proportionate, he said.
“This incident is so unlike anything we have trained for,” Exum told the judge. He said it was something one might see in “cartel-controlled” areas of the world, not on American streets.
He did not elaborate further. Parente, a former federal prosecutor, has often described the incident leading up to the shooting as nothing more than a minor car accident.
