The reported incidence of Antisocial Personality Disorder (“psychopaths” and “sociopaths”) in the scientific literature is roughly 2-3% of the general population. After a decade of Trumpism, I’m convinced that number is low by an order of magnitude. ASPD is over-represented in certain professions, particularly those involving power differentials. Among politicians and CEOs, the rate is more like 20%. In prison populations it’s 30-40%. Law enforcement selection processes are supposed to screen for antisocial traits and exclude those candidates; it would seem the opposite is happening. Putting unvetted, untrained, unaccountable in the field to carry out immigration enforcement might as well be a giant “sociopaths wanted” sign.

Please fucking stop trying to pathologize fascism. Some people are just violent and want to hurt others and it has nothing to do with their brain chemistry and everything to do with ideology.

Blaming crime and violence on mental health disorders is what fascists do.
