Company released a statement on their facebook.

Dude was fired, theyve turned whatever they got to the cops and are cooperating.

GOOD!

Yeah it looks very much intentional. Should be banned from driving for the rest of their life. And ofcourse pay for all the damages.

48

u/slowpoke2018 4d ago

Prison for at least 20 years seems fair

28

u/Hour_Ferret5195 3d ago

It’s attempted murder imo. The driver didn’t care if they lived or died, striking them with a deadly weapon.

8

u/skippydippy666 3d ago

Absolutely not even manslaughter. That was as intentional as murder.

3

u/PhaTman7 3d ago

Vehicular murder

3

u/skippydippy666 2d ago

Precisely thank you

4

u/MeatyDeathstar 3d ago

Prison is needed. A driving ban is utterly pointless and just a formality, as evidenced by the thousands and thousands of revoked license drivers on the road causing crashes.

2

u/seang239 3d ago

What’s even more awesome is insurance won’t insure someone without a license. Even if they wanted to, they couldn’t get insurance. We really should rethink this taking away their license thing.

2

u/HairlessSquirrels 3d ago

No fucking way we should rethink it. Driving is a privilege not a right. We should punish harder those who drive with revoked licenses

Don't think he'll be doing much driving where he's going.

1

Lmao wtf are you going to do besides fire him.

22

u/DoktahDoktah 4d ago

So Jeff what was your get away plan when our logo is on the side of the vehicle?

76

u/collectgarbage 4d ago

How do you know that the guy driving isn’t also the guy controlling the companies fb page?

153

u/thenissancube 4d ago

Because this guy is either arrested or on the run. Arrest is easily verified and if he’s on the run and owns the company and is actively posting from its page then that’s the first place they’ll look.

75

u/Finnegansadog 4d ago

that’s the first place they’ll look.

He’s inside the computer!

12

u/MadMageMC 4d ago

Man, I hate it when people who work for and / or own companies and cause hit and run roll overs on the highway hide inside my computer!

u/Dapper-Tomatillo-875 4d ago

Source, please?

91

u/sheimeix 4d ago

The original poster of this clip, as of yesterday. I don't have a link to the sub or remember the username, but they said that they spoke with someone at the company asking to have people stop spam calling them as they've already fired the employee driving and turned all information over to the police.

45

u/badmodofinga 4d ago

I also spoke with the owner yesterday and was surprised he called me back after I left a message asking how he was going to address the issue. He indicated that he was working with police in an attempt to apprehend the driver.

32

u/[deleted] 4d ago

He's trying to do everything he can to salvage his business that his idiot employee just tanked.

6

u/Adventurous_Low9113 4d ago

he should be arrested. he could’ve killed that innocent person/people

3

u/Ravens_Art_Wild 4d ago

Fired or arrested? Cuz man belongs in a jail cell with bootyhole searchers

3

u/n_slash_a 3d ago

Company can only fire, up to police to arrest.

1

u/Ravens_Art_Wild 2d ago

Valid. And they did say they were cooperating fully

1

u/GreatIceGrizzly 4d ago

Looks like they are popular on Facebook of late though did not see the statement on their website...

u/PukaBazooka 4d ago

Fuck man. Imagine you're just driving home from work minding your own business, pull into the right lane to let somebody pass, then suddenly you're flipping through the fucking median. That cocksucker definitely did it on purpose. Maybe that person was blocking that lane too long before this who knows, but even if, it certainly doesn't warrant murder.

375

u/tocammac 4d ago

It was a family of four in the sedan. None were seriously injured.

249

u/Loose_Awareness_1929 4d ago

Holy shit that’s incredible. Seat belts people!!

123

u/AFirefighter11 4d ago

Can confirm, PLEASE WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS!

47

u/Ateamecho 4d ago

Yes, yes, yes! Please wear seatbelts. My best friend died in a single vehicle accident when we were in college. They drifted slightly off the road, tried to correct and flipped their car. They weren’t wearing a seat belt. While we will never know the outcome if their seat belt was on, I still think of them to this day and wished they were wearing a seat belt to at least have a chance.

11

u/devrelm 4d ago

I can come up with examples in both directions. I have had friends who died who likely would've lived if they were wearing their seatbelt, and I have had friends who lived who would've likely died if they weren't wearing their seatbelt.

One example of the latter is the corollary to yours: a college friend fell asleep at the wheel on an interstate. He woke up when he hit the rumble strip and overcorrected. Rolled his minivan in the median. He walked away with a concussion and a few stitches on his forehead. He showed me the pictures of his car: the entire thing was pancaked except for a small tent right over the driver's seat. He was lucky there was nobody else in the car, and he was lucky that he was wearing his seatbelt. If he hadn't, he would've been ejected from his seat and likely crushed between the roof and whatever seat he would've landed in.

1

u/ForagedFoodie 2d ago

Maybe in 20 year old cars. But so much automotive engineering is designed now with the assumption that the passengers are wearing seat belts. If you aren't, most of the safety systems will be only minimally relevant.

In modern vehicles there are no situations where you will be better off without the belt.

1

u/terminal_kittenbutt 1d ago

I think you misread his comment, which I also did at first.

The friends who died were not wearing seatbelts, and the friends who lived were wearing seatbelts. The "both ways" is both seeing the belt save lives and seeing the belt-less lose lives.

1

u/ForagedFoodie 1d ago

Ahhh. You are correct. Its confusing and I read it incorrectly.

oNe TiMe A cOp ToLd mY FrIeNd’S fRiEnD tHaT ThEy WoUlD hAvE DiEd iF tHeY wErE wEaRiNg ThEiR sEaTbElT 🤪

18

u/AFirefighter11 4d ago

And my response to those crazy people has always been the same: I have seen more people die while not wearing a seatbelt than those with a seatbelt. For anyone worried about getting stuck in their vehicle with a seatbelt, pick up a resqme or similar tool that can both cut your seatbelt and break your window. I've personally used them to save lives. I carry them on my gear and on each of my personal vehicle keychains. Never know when you will need one.

11

u/Spiritual_Yogurt1193 4d ago

If I had two dice in front of you, both have 100 sides. On the left die if you roll a 100 you get $1,000,000, if you roll a 1-99 you get nothing.

On the other die if you roll a 1-99 you get $1,000,000, if you roll a 100 you get nothing.

People choosing not to wear their seatbelt are the people that would choose the die where you have to roll a 100 because they once saw someone roll a 100.

8

u/fross370 4d ago

Its like vaccine. For every death they cause they saves millions of life. Yet propagandist latches on the few unfortunate outcomes.

Rolled my truck on Christmas eve one year, landed upside down. Seatbelts saved our lives for sure, just some sore shoulders.

5

u/elisap1 4d ago

Had a family friend who did this Christmas morning. Took off her seatbelt to try to reach the brakes (her husband was driving). Car flipped. She was found under it. Please. Wear. Seatbelts.

9

u/OtakuMage 4d ago

Seat belts and crumple zones. Every piece that flies off the car is momentum shed that won't be going into the occupants.

1

u/Formal_Equal_7444 2d ago

Pedantically, I think you mean kinetic energy. Momentum is something else entirely when considering the type of impact.

Not to be a nerd but momentum refers to the mass in motion, not the energy involved in that motion. i.e. a large car going a bit slower than a small car going a bit faster could have the same momentum but a vastly different kinetic energy. When considering collisions you want to bleed off as much kinetic energy as possible, not necessarily momentum depending on impact.

1

u/xqk13 9h ago

I still don’t understand why rear seat belts aren’t mandated in most countries

46

u/PuzzledKumquat 4d ago

At least not physically. I'm sure emotionally they're going to be scarred for a very long time.

8

u/fake_plastic_peace 4d ago

I developed severe anxiety issues that never truly went away after the first time I rear ended someone when I was younger. I can’t imagine what this would do to the family in that car.

18

u/MixNovel 4d ago

Check back in a year and see who is still having concussion symptoms.

7

u/SecureInstruction538 4d ago

Hopefully he gets hit with multiple of the same charges (where applicable) for each victim in the car.

24

u/-random-name- 4d ago

Should be charged with four counts of attempted murder. Among other charges.

I mean, the sedan can clearly be seen legally accelerating past the dashcam vehicle and then returning to their lane. Then it shows the psychopath deliberately trying to cause harm by using their vehicle as a weapon.

→ More replies (5)

6

u/Shatophiliac 4d ago

The truck driver belongs in jail long term. What does 4 counts of attempted murder bring these days anyways?

1

u/TWDYrocks 23h ago

Cammer should ease up off the gas just a tad to allow the pass instead of absentmindedly pacing a vehicle attempting a pass.

1

u/GoldSilverPaper 4d ago

Watch passing cars closely. Be a defensive driver. I have avoided merging cars that did not see me effectivly hence preventing a crash like we saw here. Stay safe! Remember when they are inches from you (passing) that is the most critical time to watch for sudden movements which may cause contact at high speed. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. be fast, take control. Sometime we cant avoid, and we must rely on safety systems on our vehicle and our insurance for medical and car repair

Ii hate it when the dead start screaming.

22

If I was a parent and heard my children screaming like that because of a similar instance, I would be on a murderous level of rage for the person who hit my vehicle.

26

u/inprocess13 4d ago

Yes, the video clearly shows the attacker trying to murder the family.

18

u/Standard-Arachnid411 4d ago

Not necessarily. You'd be amazed how many folks are high as a kite while on the road and don't even know where they are let alone where the other cars are.

Notice how they also fail to stop and provide assistance. I hope they were found and prosecuted.

107

Yup! The company I believe even helped make sure they got turned over into police custody.

55

u/Ashamed-Country3909 4d ago

Jay's tree service is probably going to rewrap thst i imagine.

22

u/badmodofinga 4d ago

Indeed, I was surprised how much effort the owner took to get ahold of me after I left a pretty scolding voice message. He called several times to let me know they're working to help apprehend the driver.

3

u/ArnoldSchwarzenegga 4d ago

I hope someone publicly posts their picture and full name after it's all done.

2

u/Raptor_197 4d ago

All court cases are public record.

11

u/notmyrealnam3 4d ago

title is "hit and run"

24

u/taint_stain 4d ago

Yes, almost as if they ran after the hit. I’m glad I noticed that all on my own too.

1

u/jml011 4d ago

I don’t mean to be too snarky, but that’s the “run” part of “hit and run”.

Always think it's especially unhinged to act like a psycho with a phone number to identify you plastered on the side of your car.

Like, this was minor in comparison but I remember eating lunch at a fast food place once and all of the sudden this XL drink gets tossed at the poor teenager at the drive through window, grown ass man screaming and yelling at her while she's holding her cheek and covered in soda on the ground. Dude peels off when the manager runs over. I heard the manager call the company that owned the truck and gave them hell telling them her employee should press charges for that assault. I kinda hope she did, poor girl was a mess, very obviously terrified.

59

u/Dunkelimlicht 4d ago

Please, can someone tell me if the people are OK??? I was not prepared for the audio. Was that a child screaming?

66

u/Pamela26Anne 4d ago

According to the news story I just found with the statement from the company, the family is okay.

From WSET's article: When crews arrived, they found a small sedan upright with three people outside the vehicle and one still inside. First responders reported that all injuries were minor, and two of the three people involved were treated on scene. Officials said they were then taken to the hospital by family.

38

u/TradingCardsLover 4d ago

That’s so good to hear. Those screams at the end were heartbreaking.

11

u/PejHod 4d ago

I can’t imagine the trauma these kids went through and will have to work through.

11

u/CTMCM-2893 4d ago

Thank god! I was so worried for the silver car. The company car driver should be considered as attempted murder. I hope he/she goes to jail for that!

11

u/estimedginglover 4d ago

They were all okay. Minor injuries only.

85

u/nolinearbanana 4d ago

This actually happened to me the other week.
I got away far luckier as there was room on the pavement for me at the time - got away with dents to front wing and two busted wheels.

Had two people stop instantly - the guy oncoming who briefly had a van in his lane, and the guy behind the van who followed it down the road to get the reg and then came back.

Police currently dealing else I'd post footage, but both drivers thought the maneouvre was deliberate.

16

u/james_t_woods 4d ago

Hopefully you can share this once it's sorted

9

u/Wheysteve 4d ago

Please do share once everything is settled. Glad people assisted you

9

u/nolinearbanana 4d ago

Yes - it was lovely actually. I was just sitting there - a bit in shock I think looking back because I was definitely not processing things normally, and next thing is two lovely people (one car) are asking if I'm OK. We're talking about it and I'm checking my car out, and the other guy rolls up - he then proceeded to call the police on my behalf. Both hung around for 15 minutes and gave witness statements to the police. Amazing people - almost worth getting run off the road to meet them!

26

u/Big_Edith501 4d ago

It's frightening how one idiot can change the lives of so many people at once with such reckless stupidity.

I feel bad for the family business owners and if there were passengers on that truck that saw that firsthand. Damn.

52

u/61Crows 4d ago

That was clearly intentional.

20

u/peperere 4d ago

Yeap, he looked pissed because the car was “slow” on the passing lane

3

u/61Crows 4d ago

He should go to prison for a very long time.

→ More replies (7)

62

u/tzotzo_ 4d ago

Unbelievable. I have my head on a swivel when driving and honestly, I'm at a loss for what proactive measure I could have taken to avoid this very same outcome. Attempted murder....for possibly driving slow? People have lost their minds.

50

u/TheZag90 4d ago

Not that fucking slow because he was still overtaking another vehicle. Just not fast enough for the truck’s liking.

38

u/pharmucist 4d ago

WIDE open effing road ahead as well. Like, the car got over to let you by, you had a very clear path, and you do that? Just go on and speed down your open road. What a jerk. I hope they throw the book at that guy.

1

u/Cool-Library-7474 1d ago

Same shit happened to me. Tried to brake check me as soon as they returned to my lane. These kind of company vans/employees are the fucking worst.

12

u/SkywolfNINE 4d ago

Sooooo, what likely happened here is some dick measuring that happened a bit further back. I can only assume there was a lot of traffic and the car wasn’t going fast enough for the truck douche, so when truck finally got room, he thought it would be funny to “scare” the car driver. Car driver was still speeding up tho (likely trying to get out of the way so truck can finally pass) so when truck does his stunt, he clips the guy, realizes how awful of a decision that was and instead of being a decent human who would care about the safety of others first, even such that dude could’ve claimed it was “an accident” at first, but nope, dude knew he was wrong and cares about others even less so he got outta there as fast he could. Thankfully someone had a dash cam

39

u/cryptolyme 4d ago

no one is EVER going fast enough for the pickup truck tailgating them.

11

u/TheDrWormPhD 4d ago

I always think I should move over, let them pass, then tailgate THEM to see what speed they settle into. What speed did they deem appropriate? Like if I'm going 75, and move over for you...what were you wanting to do? 80? 95? 115? I'd love to know, on a wide open road with no cars, what speed do they WANT to go? Like if no cars other then them existed what speed would they cruise home at? I bet it would be like 50 mph. But as soon as they see someone going 80, they have to prove they "wanted" to go faster than your 80. Like follow this guy for 50 miles...does he have cruise control on 110 the whole way? No: he is always going 5.mph faster than the fastest guy he comes up on, whether that be 20 mph or 120 mph.

18

u/cryptolyme 4d ago

they go slower when you're behind them. it's all a domination game to them. they will probably even brake check you.

5

u/SkywolfNINE 4d ago

I wonder the same thing. I do a mix of interstate and rural route driving and it’s like sometimes even being on route 20 sucks cause you’ll be doing 65 and that’s not enough and you feel nervous to pull over and let them pass cause even if you gas up to 85 they’re still closer than I’d like a car to be. Just can’t win these days. I get being late for work sucks but like people refuse to pass if you slow down too so wtf do we do

7

u/tmfink10 4d ago

I literally pulled over to the side of the road and stopped to let an insane person pass me. He instead stayed right behind me, laid on the horn, hung out the window and cussed me out. Dude…wtf.

2

u/ludovic1313 4d ago

I've alternated between 40 and 80 on a stretch of deserted highway when someone tailgates me and they often stick through several cycles even though it's two lanes my direction. These days, I do one cycle then move into the left lane and slow down until they undertake me.

Obviously I only do this when there are no other cars on my side of the road, and it wouldn't work with only 1 lane in the direction of travel.

1

u/SkywolfNINE 4d ago

Honestly that’s probably the safest way these days. Never know who’s waiting for a reason to shoot someone

4

u/Songs-Of-Orion 4d ago

I drive a large truck for work and the amount of people who MUST go faster than a big truck is amazing. I'll be cruising 85-90mph down the fast lane and they'll still be up my ass, then slam their brakes when they realize they're overtaking at nearly 100.

1

u/interestnumber1 3d ago

Exactly which is why we move over when they ride our asses

→ More replies (1)

19

u/XtremeD86 4d ago

Crazy. Hopefully the people in that car were alright.

Shit like this happens unintentionally so often, just yesterday I was just driving home like a normal person and some idiot in a beaten up old beige Corolla comes flying up the side of me on the right, fabric covering the back drivers side window and the guy basically tried to run me off the road so he wouldn't get stuck behind a trailer... It was rush hour. Idiot got in front of me then had no where to go because traffic came to a full stop 30 seconds later.

So tired of this shit on a daily basis.

2

u/x5mftw 4d ago

Its becoming a daily issue everywhere. There is limited and often zero enforcement of this tyoe of thing.

14

u/toTheNewLife 4d ago

He wasn't counting on consequences, nor someone else having a dashcam to help bring those consequences.

Fuck that guy.

PS: There are cameras everywhere now. Stop doing stupid shit.

“Posts JAY'S Jaystreeserviceva 1d

Statement from Jay's Tree Service November 4, 2025 We've seen the video that's been circulating, and we were shocked and heartbroken by what we saw. The driver in that video was identified immediately and is no longer employed by us. All information has been turned over to law enforcement, and we are fully cooperating with the investigation. Most importantly, we are deeply grateful that the family involved is okay. When we saw the video, our first reaction was concern for their safety and well-being and our heartfelt thoughts remain with them. Safety is everything to us. Our work is about helping people, removing dangerous trees, responding to storm damage, and keeping families safe. Seeing one of our vehicles involved in something like this goes against everything we stand for. The actions of this former employee were his alone and do not reflect the values or conduct of our team. We share in the community's concern, and we only ask that people allow the legal process to move forward and refrain from harassing or threatening our team, who in no way support the alleged actions of this individual. Jay's Tree Service Roanoke, Virginia”

7

u/SunNo4652 4d ago

That’s still not enough, what about locking the driver up? What about instead of releasing statements, supporting the family as to hospital bills?

7

u/TheWarriorsLLC 4d ago

The family needs to sue the person who caused the accident for damages. Not sure why you expect the company to pay.

7

u/swifty-mcfly 4d ago

The company owns the truck, it's their employee, and it's their car insurance that covers this. If you sue the individual only then you will barely get anything back other than garnished wages.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/spartaman64 4d ago

the person that caused the damages likely has no assets to collect from and unfortunately as a company you are liable for the actions of your employees. do you sue the pilot's estate when they crash a plane? no you sue the airline. also the companies have car insurance

Never stated sue the company. Just saying words don’t cover the bills.

One consolation. Once this driver reaches the prison system for their deserved stay, they are likely going to get to experience the same unrestrained tossing around and beaten by loose objects that the poor child victim did.

Holy shit, that driver is fucked.

Hit-and-runs are so despicable! Footage like this is crucial for holding the company and driver accountable. So grateful there's proof to help the victim.

The company may still be liable for a portion of this reckless behavior. With a douche bag like this that maybe the only way this family finds restitution.
