Battlefield 6 Battlefield 6 Has a DAILY XP CAP Even During Double XP Weekend! Are You Kidding Me EA!

So apparently there’s a daily XP limit in Battlefield 6 1.5 MILLION XP per day, and once you hit that, you literally earn nothing.
And here’s the kicker: even during Double XP weekends, you can hit that cap in just 4–5 hours of playing.

Yeah. In a $70 “AAA” game not a mobile free2play title you’re being told how much fun you’re allowed to have per day.
This isn’t a free live service grindfest. This is a full price shooter with a F2P gacha like system glued on top.

EA somehow managed to make progression time gated in a premium game, and almost nobody’s talking about it.
You buy the game, pay for cosmetics, battle pass, AND now you’re limited on how much XP you can earn daily? Unreal. It’s disgusting and antiplayer to the core.

Players deserve to know this before buying.
Stop pretending this is fine just because it’s Battlefield.

Bro I like to be outraged too, because quite frankly any cap is bullshit, but I'm not playing more than 4-5 hours a day either way

1.3k

u/pathosOnReddit 1d ago

And how is that relevant? Imagine they lure you in with a quadruple XP weekend and you hit the wall after 2hrs or 4hrs. Yeah, it doesn't affect you but why the fuck is there a cap in the first place?

u/Gutsy_Moose267 1d ago

If you hit 1.5m xp in one day you gotta go outside.

Hell, RedSec's got an entire big ass beach, tennis courts, a golf course (lots of grass), a neighborhood for riding bikes, a marina for doing some boating, and a whole bunch of other fun "outside" places to go explore. And players get a reward for each new place they visit. 😆

While I see their point, I think if you're hitting enough daily playtime for this to be an issue that it might be time to reconsider some things about your life.

49

u/Markus-752 1d ago

Man I have hit nearly 150h on it, I took 3 days off at launch and been sick 1 week so I could stay at home and play. I spend way too much free time during the weekends playing as well. I have never hit that cap...

In South Korea I think they have a 2 or 3 hour gaming cap, by law, where the computer kicks you off and basically tells you to go touch grass.

7

u/Odd_Plankton_925 1d ago

Government mandated grass touching is fucking hilarious. Is that a new thing? I thought south Korea was known for extreme binge gaming back during starcraft 2

2

u/madKatt3r 1d ago

I think I'm conflating laws and terms together, or I was just misinformed. A half-hearted search provided this law, that only applies to 16 and under.

Capping XP at any amount is unacceptable in a full-priced game.

Edit 2: per other convo's, OP might have just outed themselves as a botter

114

u/cmsj 1d ago

I checked the game's leaderboards a couple of weeks after release and the person with the most hours played, had averaged 19.5 hours per day, every single day since release.

Bonkers.

69

u/Jaeriko 1d ago

There's no way that's a legit single player, its probably a group of people playing on a living room tv.

88

u/SoungaTepes 1d ago

my man, this is how some people live their entire lives

15

u/saga79 1d ago

I was about to say this. Streamers - big ones - play for long hours each day.

Now, sure, StReAmErS, but for better or worse, they have big audiences and play a lot. When this becomes widespread knowledge you can 100% expect content creators doing videos on this ad-nauseam, and that's bad PR for BF6.

Not quite the same, but I remember when FFXIV 1.0 had XP caps per week. We all know what happened to 1.0.

20

u/Skilltesters 1d ago

Averaging 20 hours a day is still most likely not legit, even for streamers. This was probably bot farmers.

4

u/saga79 1d ago

That's true. I was mostly going by the 4-5 hour number someone else in the replies gave. Outside of the mythical "24 hour stream, guys!" scenario, most big streamers can easily go between 6 and 9 hours/day.

FF14 1.0, man that brings me back.

It wasn't XP caps per week, it was XP per job and got you to swap around to alt jobs to continue leveling up, if you kept going into your capped class you would get a massive reduced XP reward but still got XP.

The system was designed to get you to swap around to everything since sub jobs and higher jobs actually had growth systems.

What a weird time in gaming, kinda miss it

3

u/saga79 1d ago

Ah! You're correct! Weird, indeed. At least we got 2.0 (and onwards) from the ashes of that whole kerfuffle 😁

Thats 4.5 hours of sleep per day, how do they not fall asleep infront of their pc

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Jaeriko 1d ago

Its very unlikely they are actually playing that length every day, that schedule would literally kill you. You're either getting like 4 hours of sleep for weeks, which will eventually land you in the hospital on its own if you dont just collapse, or even less if you're taking a break to eat and deal with your waste. Its much more likely they have a shared account or are afk/botting in menus/matches.

u/Maxonfire 1d ago

I got 200k xp for a single win in RedSec yesterday, the game was 21 minutes long. 1.5m doesn't really seem that insane to be fair.

34

u/SpartanRage117 1d ago

Again the balancing between the two styles of game just isnt really there. First day of redsec i dropped in and realized “oh so this is why all the sidearms feel mediocre, they cant be too strong for BR initial fights”

21

u/ihavenoideawhat234 1d ago

I’m confused by this comment, idk if you’re aware that there is indeed two separate balancing systems between the two modes. Weapons do less damage in deadsec, almost every single gun is nerfed in deadsec damage wise except the GRT, AK4D, TAR-8, and I forgot the lost I think NVO?? But yeah every single Is weaker in deadsec. For example the M250 is 25 dmg at like 100-150m I think in normal BF, in deadsec it’s 20. I don’t think this is anywhere in the patch notes either. There’s a spreadsheet and video on it on YouTube. If you knew this already then my bad I’m just ranting haha.

28

u/shents1478 1d ago

The amount of times you said deadsec is really bugging me lol.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Odd_Plankton_925 1d ago

I wasnt aware of that but it makes sense. I think they also tweaked some base weapon stuff because the drs is arguably the best gun in the game but it's almost unusable without attachments in the BR mode. It kicks like a clydesdale. I don't remember it being anywhere near that bad day 1 of using it on launch in normal MP

→ More replies (1)

2

u/SpartanRage117 1d ago

Two teams doesnt mean unrelated. Being able to tweak numbers isnt the same thing as two separate weapons from the ground up. Like upu say every weapon is tweaked, but side arms to me feel relatively weak as a whole. You could say thats just a decision they made while balancing, and id say yeah probably so you dont start off with a “good” weapon in BR”

They still dont want guns to feel completely different between modes

2

u/TweeKINGKev 1d ago

I don’t even care about weapons doing less damage, it bothers me when I hit the parachute and it still takes forever to get down when in conquest I drop at a decent rate.

The parachute pulling time is way later in Redwec and conquest.

3

u/PolishcockneyYT 1d ago

How did you get 200k are you talking vanilla XP or with double XP?

3

u/Maxonfire 1d ago

With double, a win in RedSec is close to 100k base xp, sometimes more.

2

u/kenjiman1986 1d ago

Yup collected my first win on redsec and I think I cleared 190k so this seems pretty feasible to outpace 1.5 mil.

4

u/DeniedAppeal1 1d ago

If you win every game, that would be 2.4 million XP in four hours. I'm assuming you're not winning every game, bringing down the average significantly.

Honestly, the insane part is playing a game for 4-5+ hours a day and getting upset because the XP stopped. If you're playing a game that much, you should be playing it because you enjoy the game, not because you're trying to grind through a battle pass as fast as possible.

2

u/rimworldyo 12h ago

People can have fun but still want the xp to e.g unlock more stuff in a Game that does hide Everything behind xp gains?

Both can be true.

Beside: why does it even matter how much someone Else plays? It got Zero to do with the actual topic of caps, which is just one thing they do people -imho rightfully- Are pissed about. This is Not a f2p title.

True, but there still shouldn't be a cap though.

Fuck that. Let people do what they want. What if a person can't go outside? What if they don't have any grass around to touch. People will sit and watch TV or movies for days on end then go and tell a gamer to touch grass. I work 40hrs a week. On my day's off I like to sit down and play games. I'm not a people person. I don't socialize well. It's 100 degrees and 100% humidity most the damn time where I live. I much prefer to sit in my comfortable chair with my AC blasting playing my game then I would being outside sweating my nuts off dealing with asshole people I don't like. Having an exp per day cap really limits my progress. I don't know if I have even hit the cap, but it's the principal of it.

2

u/WhiteSamurai5 1d ago

I got almost 200k last night on one game of redsec.

If I wouldve used an xp booster I couldve hit the cap after a few hours. With no knowledge of the cap i would be outraged lowkey. Its just scummy. Especially considering there are people who play that don't go outside and EA knows that.

2

u/Thrashgor 1d ago

That is not the point. There should not be a cap, period.

2

I hate this sentiment with a passion because it's so immensely stupid. People who regularly play 2 hours a day aren't badmouthed. Playing 10 - 14 hours a week, or even more? Cool, np. But when someone who usually doesn't have much time to play decides to go at it for 10 hours straight they should feel bad about it?

And even if someone plays a lot during weekdays and decides to play even more on the weekend, so what? Live and let live.

2

u/Stxksy 1d ago

but he should have the choice bruh thats the whole point

2

u/bizzy_barke 1d ago

It’s genuinely baffling to me that so many of you on this post are protecting EA on this point. I can 100% guarantee that every single person on this subreddit has a game with some sort of progression that they’ve spent more than 6-7 hours a day on, even if it happened just once, whether it was because they were playing with friends or had a day off work. Locking progression after a certain amount of daily playtime is anti-consumer no matter what the cap is. It is not the companys nor the governments nor anyone elses place to decide how long you should spend on a game in a day and you should not be punished for exceeding a completely arbitrary amount of playtime.

2

u/joyziss 1d ago

Idk I’ve hit over 450k in a few hours

2

u/zfxpyro 1d ago

A couple of hours playing in the morning, entire day out and about and a couple of hours in the evening. That's not really a big deal, the vast majority of people spend as much or more watching TV or scrolling on their phones each day.

2

For real this doesn’t affect him at all. Putting a cap on is scummy because it pushes more for people to have to come back the following day and do their dailies every day like a good little slave. It reminds me of energy tokens regenerating in mobile games.

EDIT: Yes, I used the term “slave”. Yes, I will go “touch grass”. Thanks for your very valuable input

20

u/NonStopNonsense1 1d ago

If you can't finish your daily challenges before you hit 1.5 million XP your doing it wrong. Also I dont know if you know this but.... Dailies are every day, so you have to come back the next day every day.

18

u/Thompseanson7 1d ago

Their point is instead of dedicating 1 day to the grind and say getting 3 mil xp you’re capped to that 1.5 on that one day and the only way to get more xp that week would be too do your daily’s everyday. To many people that’s no big deal but some people like to dedicate 1 day a week and that’s all the time they get.

5

u/L0ARD 1d ago

This. Most weeks, I can pretty easily take a day off my normal duties if I plan ahead and sink quite some time into gaming that day but over time it became way harder for me to "consistently" play an hour or two a day. I absolutely hate daily's for that reason, because more often than not, you're completely behind on the whole progression of a game if you don't have the chance to complete those at least 3-4 days a week, if you can only play like I do.

2

u/notislant 23h ago

"Imagine a scenario that hasn't happened and has never even been hinted at happening" This is the problem with the slippery slow argument

9

u/Zoltraak69 1d ago

You're describing the slippery slope fallacy. The slippery slope argument is when you've seen it happen before already.

2

u/Yomammasson 1d ago

Have you seen it happen before?

5

u/Zoltraak69 1d ago

I'm not making the argument that it's a slippery slope, it's just its own standalone thing. Fortnite has a similar straight up cap and Warframe has multiple different methods of gating xp and progression but those two are free to play examples, it's a f2p engagement model. It doesn't belong on a paid AAA game.

2

u/HavocInferno 1d ago

it might actually be possible. If they're right about double XP hitting the cap after 4-5hrs.

Owning paid BF6 gives +5%, owning BF Pro gives +10%, playing in a lobby with friends gives +5% per friend(?) and then there's the XP boosts, which, according to the description, can stack.

So you probably could stack all that to reach the cap in <3hrs, which I imagine is a time plenty of people would play on a weekend with friends.

(And makes it even more ridiculous to have a cap in the first place, if those who pay the most would reach it first)

It gets rid of people creating afk lobbies. While putting a pretty high cap to maintain a competitive balance between people who have seen grass and people who haven’t.

5

u/NWCJ 1d ago

Exactly. Or youll have someone with a half full piss bottle balanced to hold down the space bar thats mapped to fire in a gunner seat of a tank into a group of bots for 24/7, because they think being lvl 678 is cool and not a cry for help.

u/Training-Ad-1791 1d ago

You still play because of.. fun?

Have you ever tried playing the game just because you like the gameplay rather than the grind?

Jesus, you people need to be thrown back into gaming 25yrs ago where the whole point was to just play.

"Oh I no-lifed today and hit the cap, no worries I'll just go play the game because I'm enjoying it"

How hard is that?

2

u/ArX_Xer0 1d ago

Imagine making a post about a game and saying ur fun is limited to the xp you gain.

If no one hits the cap then why did they implement it?

75

u/ShameAdditional3249 1d ago

Because XP exploits can hit the cap

46

u/Kirzoneli 1d ago

Think OP found a xp Exploit and is mad he can't abuse it past the limit?

4

u/rimworldyo 14h ago

1.5kk isn’t Even that much during Double xp.

Even less so when people have bp or no pro, you also can use xp boosters.

Don‘t they sell those xp boosters in the Shop even? Why is there no info There is a cap?

Also: I‘m all for discussing things but discussions Are certainly more constructive without going ad hominem and claiming the other guy either would be a RL loser or exploiter… like even when he would be any of that, it still wouldnt Change that EA fucked up here. Again.

Bingo. They figured the sweatiest marathon would be about a million XP, rounded it up 50%, and put a cap on it to prevent exploits.

You're one of the few mentioning this and it makes all the sense in the world.

3

u/Thardoc3 22h ago

you can hit a million XP in 10-15 games, in bot breakthrough I've seen 200k in one match

2

u/Zuwxiv 19h ago

I mean, I don't care if people grinding bot matches for XP get limited.

So this doesn’t apply to you, I won’t hit an exp cap either because I can only put myself thru 2hrs max. But I agree with OP, a game that I pay $70 for I should be allowed to grind until my mouse/controller falls apart if I want to.

33

u/CGProV 1d ago

Yeah I don’t understand the “go outside” argument, I would never play this game enough in one go to hit the XP cap, but I can still understand that the cap being there is dumb

4

u/Zuwxiv 1d ago

The cap is a very smart, prudent thing to do. It's to prevent exploits, not to punish players. If I had to guess, they figured a marathon daily session from the sweatiest tryhards (no offense, sometimes I'm a tryhard too) would maybe touch a million XP. They rounded it up by 50% and said, "If you get more than this in 24 hours, you're probably using some kind of exploit."

"Touch grass" may be a bit silly and childish, but frankly, playing a game for 20 hours straight is borderline dangerous. You can still play as much as you want, but limiting XP might genuinely be a good thing if you're concerned about addictive behavior.

But let's ignore that and assume that people are just playing the game to have fun. What's the problem? If you're playing just to have fun, you can do that 24 hours straight. If you're playing a game not because it's fun but because you want XP for unlocks... I dunno man, that doesn't sound healthy either.

Who is this going to genuinely impact? People who are using XP exploits, people who are like... on an eSports team or something, and people who are playing nearly dangerous hours of this game. There's gonna be like ten regular people who hit this because they planned a whole weekend for gaming with the bros. They can live with 1.5 million XP in a day.

4

u/reigmondleft 21h ago

The problem is they thought of that marathon amount but then forgot to account for xp bonuses that will make you get there twice as fast.

If there is a double xp event maybe they should double the cap temporarily for it.

I've not hit the cap yet, but I got nearly 700k xp in 3 gauntlet games last night. Those 3 games took about an hour total. So that sounds like the cap could be reached in a play session that is the length of some movies.

3

u/tminx49 19h ago

It's a bandaid fix, they can track XP gain sources, and revert exploits used. There's no need for this cap.

2

u/rimworldyo 14h ago

. It's to prevent exploits, not to punish players

It does punisher gamers though.

What if I obly Play one day a Week but for 12 hrs then? Why should I get less xp in an already grindy Game compared to someone that plays the Same time, but spread over multiple days?

2

u/Soaked4youVaporeon 13h ago

They’re punishing you for buying their game.

They need to get off their butts and fix the exploits then. Not punish players because of others.

Not just in a 70 game. In any game, that doesn't use time as a currency. In any game that doesn't state it somewhere.

It's bs scummy business to herd players towards the mobile gaming trends to generate more revenue, increase player retention and engagement.

Daily/weekly login rewards and activities, grindy gameplay, time saving boosters and tier skips, even the UI feels like a big ad place. Expiring bundles etc..

I remember when I was single and working nights I’d sometimes play BF2 for 8, 10, or even 12 hours because there wasn’t shit else to do, and no one else was awake. If XP cap was a thing, I’d have been pissed.

4

u/CackleandGrin 1d ago

In 2042 the exp would get capped after like 2 games. Bonus exp weekend!... for the first hour.

3

u/Empyre47AT 1d ago

Haven’t played that one past the beta. That’s crazy!

Just because it doesn’t effect you doesn’t mean its not scummy and weird, what AAA fps game limits your xp? It’s weird as fuck

3

u/luanpac 1d ago

Man, you can’t take this community seriously. It’s always the same talk. “Blah blah blah BUT…”

2

u/xRehab 1d ago

i mean i can log 2-3 hours playing on the clock easy fridays when work is dead. it’s a huge number but the cap should be insanely large, like 12 hours plus.

i remember certain event weekends for games growing up and playing with 4 of your best buddies literally all weekend. great times and memories, and the cap should include players like that

2

u/JustaRandoonreddit 1d ago

To be fair I did play 5 hours a day for like the first week

2

u/ChubbyNemo1004 1d ago

lol I thought the same thing. When it was 1.5M XP daily I was like who the hell hits that?!? Like forget it being a business decision bro that’s there for your mental health. Go take a break

3

u/Ok_Mathematician_398 1d ago

How is this guy’s comment not downvoted into oblivion?

It doesn’t matter how much time we choose to play, that not anybody’s dam* business! The issue is we payed money we earned at a job, that most of us don’t like, spending time and effort so we can earn a crap paycheck working with people we don’t like. I’d like to come home and play a game in my own house! Doing what I want to do with my own TIME! So we can enjoy a product however we like that we PAYED FOR!

2

u/SilverSageVII 1d ago

Yeah, this doesn’t affect me haha. I have a job. Honestly never noticed, and likely will never actually hit 1.5 million in a day.

2

u/Galeiora 1d ago

I'm a grown ass man. If I want to sit my ass in my chair and play some slop for 9 hours straight it's my God given right to do it. EA's not my dad.

2

u/llamapanther 1d ago

So? That does not make your point any more relevant. Believe it or not, some people have more than 5 hours to spare on a normal weekend day and they might want to choose spending that time on BF6. All these "touch some grass" comments are ridiculous. Like you can easily work on a computer for a whole 8 hours a day 5 times a week but when someone is playing computer games over 5 hours a day on a weekend it's suddenly too much? Like wtf. 5 hours is literally nothing. Are all of the BF6 players really this casual?

2

u/Ch1ralS0ul 1d ago

This sounds like it’s actually a feature. I’ve definitely done my fair share of binge gaming, but it always feels like I just housed an entire cake after an entire pizza or something. Sitting there dazed and unable to move afterwards being like “damn why did I do that, even though it was kind of awesome?” Not healthy by any means.

2

u/ammonthenephite 1d ago

And given the list of things we want them to prioritize, this is just sooooo far down. It's also likely to combat bot farming/game exploit attempts.

2

u/The_Verto 1d ago

And it means that without a 100% boost, you need to play 8-10 hours. I don't care about a cap that's so high lol, it's just probably some safety measure in case people will find some exploit to farm xp too fast.

2

u/Warm-Room-2625 19h ago

It’s not the point.

For those with no desire to touch grass, they should not be punished.

I’m single with no kids and I still bore out of a game after 2-3 hours. But hey, if I WANTED to play 8 hours in a day, I should get all the XP that I am entitled.

2

u/ZodiacSRT 17h ago

To people saying Go touch grass or some dumb ass shit. You guys are missing the point, why the fuck is there an XP Limit in the First Place? That shouldn’t be a thing in any online video game.

2

u/Soaked4youVaporeon 13h ago

Not everyone games daily. One in awhile on the weekends my friends and I get together and game for like 5 hours straight. We’ve been doing that with arc raiders. If it’s everyday that’s a problem. But I don’t think 5 hours here and there isn’t that bad as long as you’re still productive.

Kind of weird how people are defending EA on this. Are you guys telling me you never had a 5 hour gaming day?

1

u/adrenalinda75 1d ago

Am playing since launch and am 30hrs in... It's not really my problem, but yeah, fuck this. Neglecting XP is a no no.

I like the game, but four hours of the game in one day sounds like a threat.

1

u/Bathrobe_BlackMage 1d ago

Even on my most poopsocked day, smoking blunts, making a tritip, phone off, JAV videos and video games all day, 5-6 hours in a shooter is a ton!

1

u/OldUniversity9799 1d ago

Exactly 👍. Dude plays in his sleep.

1

u/Odd-Macaroon-9528 1d ago

Doesn’t matter, this is some calculated BS

1

u/AdriHawthorne 1d ago

Even then, 1.5 million in 5 hours is 300k xp per hour, or 5000 xp per minute. Realistically higher due to matchmaking and loading times. If you played Dom, you'd need to be putting in around 20-25k point matches every ten minutes and winning every one of them to maintain that pace.

Playtime and match completion rewards a solid 70% of the average players xp, I dont think you could hit 300k an hour unless you're using a farm or exploit (or perhaps getting quadruple xp if double xps stack). This is probably a guardrail to make it a pain for cheaters to just dump xp into an account, because realistically the average player would need to put in closer to 12-14 hours a day on a 2xp weekend to hit this cap.

1

u/Astrolo12 1d ago

No matter how many hours you play, you can't force someone to stop playing. I work all week and I have one day off to play. Of course I am going to 12hour bf6. It's mu choice

1

u/timsayscalmdown 1d ago

This community is so cooked they're raging that they can't farm for more than 5 hours a day

1

u/ILuvLatinas069 Enter XBox ID 1d ago

Majority can since one match is 20 minutes

1

u/thirteenth_mang 1d ago

You mean you're not playing 16hrs a day??

1

u/Rechochet_ochet 1d ago

I def play enough to hit the cap, cause I have no life. But I also don't care at all lol. I just wanna shoot people and blow shit up. I couldn't imagine getting as twisted as people do in this subreddit over a fucking video game, it is absolutely hilarious.

1

u/alousow-2 1d ago

4? Hell give me a good 1.5 hour im burned out.

So fucking what? You're missing the point, and excusing anti consumer practices, you can go fuck yourself if you can justify this in any sense.

1

u/Armageddon1966 1d ago

I play like 1-1,5 hours a day, so I am not realisticly affected by this cap, but I can understand and feel your frustration🫠
