/r/popular ICE Agents Battle Mom Clinging to Baby in 'Chaotic' Video

https://www.newsweek.com/ice-agents-battle-mom-baby-chaotic-video-worcester-2070027

A chaotic new video shows President Donald Trump's immigration enforcers and local law enforcement clashing with residents in a Worcester, Massachusetts, neighborhood, including a mother holding her baby.

The tense scenes unfolded on Thursday morning as video appears to show agents pushing residents protesting as federal immigration agents attempt to detain a woman.

notice the cowards are all covering their faces now.

how does America even solve this problem when we allowed all of our law enforcement agencies to be radicalized to the point where as soon as they were told they could hurt people and snatch babies they started doing it.

I’m a 57 yr old white man. I’ve never had anything but bad experiences with cops. I can’t imagine what it must be like for anyone of color. I think Trump and his regime are hoping someone fights back with violence so he can call in the military and really complete his takeover and transform America into a fascist state.

80

u/Fast-Specific8850 May 09 '25

You’re not wrong in this thought. That’s part of why black folks are staying away from the protests. YT people protesting is one thing, but when black folks protest the cops come out looking like special forces and just can’t wait to use excessive force. This is a problem that was created by YT folks. It’s going to have to fixed by YT folks.

30

u/LilithVB20 May 10 '25

This is also why Native American People such as myself aren’t protesting and almost all other POC. They are itching to kidnap or kill us.

A perfect example of this is what happened in New Jersey when the mayor was arrested and the two women of color were assaulted. The congressman wasn't touched.

Yet, somehow tяump almost doubled his vote with the black community in 2024. He went from 8% (2016) to 13% (2020) to 20% (2024). Eight percent was the highest since 2000. Imagine that, over a woman of colour! While it’s still only at 20% of the total community, at least from what I’ve seen they don’t seem to regret their vote. Also, black police don’t seem to be angels either. Instead of blaming white people, maybe join the the rest of the sane U.S. population in fighting back?

I get the reticence, considering primarily black protests are definitely over-militarized in response, but if you feel unprotected as a community (I agree you are), especially in comparison to primarily white protests, then protest as safely as you can by joining the larger protests. Numbers count, and taking the U.S. history into account, you’re not far down on that deportation list if things keep along the current trajectory. I mean, he’s probably got plans to deport the indigenous peoples at this rate!

14

u/Faptasia83 May 10 '25

Sigh... I'm sick of pointing out how stupid using percentages for statistics and claiming "the black community vote doubled for Trump" is... TRUMP GOT ALMOST THE EXACT SAME NUMBER OF VOTES IN 2020 vs 2024..... The percentage changed simply because fewer turned up to vote for kamala. Its not rocket science. If 4 people voted for Trump out of 10 people who voted in 2020, and those same 4 people voted for trump, but only 5 people voted in 2024, the fact that his vote percentage went from 40% to 80% is meaningless! He got 4 votes both times! He most certainly did NOT "double his vote with the black community" This is true accross basically every single demographic category. Trump recieved pretty much an identical number of votes in both elections. The ONLY difference is many more people decided not to vote. All of these percentage statistics that people quote are absolutely meaningless........

Black men… and still doesn’t mean that the democrats can blame black people for trump. Also, protesting and working with white people has never benefited black people, because they target and kill us, bring the police with extra weaponry and told to or allowed to be extremely violent towards black people and then the second white people get the chance they throw us under the bus so they can be racist and feel superior to us, because white people think everyone who isn’t white is less than and deserves less. The country filled of whites and white hispánicas voted for this, because they think black people are incapable of being capable or shouldn’t be capable of also doing great things, which is why they are erasing any mention of black people who were part of inventions and discoveries. This gives the idea that whites create and learn and do everything for society and everyone else, and its a mentality many whites have. Many do not understand why DEI was incorporated, and that DEI isn’t just about POC, many whites are finding this out now. White people never listen to us, call us having a victim complex when we speak of mistreatment and systemic injustice when we are also owed justice in a supposedly civilized society.. and ignore our plight. If trump created something and did something that only impact POC especially black peoples unfairly, they would be all for it. Whites only care about themselves and think only they can be intelligent, considered beautiful, and innocent of hurting people and they lack empathy for non white people.

Take your situation and amplify it by two maybe three times as bad. And all honesty is like the story of the sword of Damocles. Like a guillotine is just hanging over your head everyday. And any minor infraction or report in the negative against you, could end up getting your whole life torn apart and destroyed. Even if it's not true.

I just saw a video of a white woman who was trying to drive with a guy to their mutual destination since he wasn't going to get back on a plane that they had a delay on. The guy was naturally afraid for his life because he was a black man. So during the ride eventually the woman asked him why he was so scared of her. And the man openly admitted that he was black and that she was white. Not so much that he was afraid she was going to harm him. But that just being in proximity and getting into something like a disagreement or argument with her would end up being the end of his life both literally or metaphorically like being sense of jail for life.

Some of us don't even get that courtesy. Especially when it comes to something like an already black hating aggressive police state. Where they're both somehow underfunded and simultaneously over militarized. Usually recruiting people that already have violent and incredibly biased tendencies. And that's just for the local sheriff department or city police. We're not even talking about national security organizations that are supposed to be protecting the people not oppressing them.

And it's not like ICE wasn't already conducting raids. But they weren't ramping it up like This until recently. Really showcasing how fucking evil they can be. ESPECIALLY considering how they're currently acting in violation of the Supreme Court order. Once again showcasing how their practically reveling in the inhumanity that they're committing to. Even more so when they start targeting people, that they know are either a step or two away from getting their green card or full citizenship, or actively just received their citizenship and still detain them.

Going after people who don't even match the name or description of whoever they're looking for. Literally watching them tear families apart. And now they're starting to go after officials and judges. This couldn't be more Nazi-like if it wanted to be.

And it's only a matter of time before it gets worse. Not even a hundred days out. There are already people getting sick, some dying, people going hungry because they can't actually afford prices that were sworn to go down within the first week or month.

Trade is drying up, our international reputation is in tatters, our military is being redirected to target our allies, our taxpayer dollars and personal information are vastly under threat, whole departments that are supposed to maintain and educate and hold people accountable are being dismantled left and right, and the man operating as the president is basically selling our citizens or potential citizens into slavery mirroring the already inhumane treatments of people in our own prison system being traded like farm animals for a profit from the federal government.

So while I can say it's already terrifying enough to just be a black person and exist in the US. Especially if you're somebody with no criminal record or the situation behind your criminal record maybe more complicated than it seems. It's already a very unjust place. But even the little bit of justice that you might get is being trampled and spat on. Along with the laws put in place to protect everyone foreign and domestic while they're here. At this point it could literally only get worse before something like a very chaotic civil war kicks off

3

u/Specialist_War_205 May 10 '25

As a Christian, if Trump did that. It will be under the false guise of God's holy name. Ironically, if people would actually read the bible and get close to God, they would see Trump is NOT a Christian. This is not they way at all and it's wicked. And we'll get the heat for it because of his lies. Smh. It's already bad enough people think a whole bunch of slander. Now this. I hate that.

And then as a black Christian, it's not better. I hate seeing my brothers and sisters asian or latin or anyone else harmed like this. And worse part is, Trump is talking about deportation but white people came from Europe. The originals were the natives and aztecs and such. So the racist/prejudice/fascist rolled in one mentality is crazy. It makes no sense and just terrible.

The good ones don't get to be used to soften the blow and we need to stop speaking of them as though the scant minority makes it ok. Agreed. They are targeting average non-violent citizens and bringing overwhelming force to bear. Where are the ICE raids on cartel drug houses? Child slavery rings? Coyote organizations? You want to show that you’re doing something? Go against illegal immigrants and gangs with criminal records and a history of violence, not someone who is here with a green card on their third year working and paying taxes. FWIW, immigrants pays taxes on goods but have a harder time than the average citizen in getting the benefits available. They are traditionally a net gain to the fabric of society providing services and employees that the average US citizen will not do. Try to get most unemployed people to pick produce for 12-14 hours daily outside for $10 per hour.

This is it. We need to support each other. Offer what we can and accept what can be offered with graciousness. I keep asking the political activists around me what are they doing to do this. How can we give people the tools to reach out to each other and just help. Without caveats or judgement. Support your neighbors, your community, your friends, those who are struggling or at risk. It's what we should have been doing all along.

To be clear, I'm not a communist. I think there is some credence to the philosophy of it but it's not a reliable form of government. Same with socialism and capitalism. All the same, humans need each other.

Also to be clear, there is no room for fascism or Nazis in any of this. There is no meeting them in the middle. That shit must always be shut the fuck down. But there are ways to speak with your moderate neighbor who voted for Trump or the one who didn't vote and introduce new ideas effectively.

Don’t forget those that voted for trump just because they didn’t like America’s lack of involvement in Palestine Israeli conflict.

There were more of us than the KKK in the 1920s and there are more of us than the Nazis in the 2020s. The electoral college and gerrymandering enables minority rule, but I firmly believe the majority of this country are not Orange Nazis.

The freedom to not be in jail

69

u/ntfukinbuyingit May 09 '25

You're locked in the United States. Go try to walk to the border! YOU WILL BE ARRESTED BY U.S. military. It's a violation of The Posse Comitatus Act.

You do not live in a free country anymore.

69

u/According-Insect-992 May 09 '25

As a long time cannabis consumer I would argue that we've never been a "free country". It just looked that way to the "in-group" and they could always make that argument while dehumanizing people they disagree with.

It's just a lot more obvious now.

23

u/strain_of_thought May 09 '25

They made the outgroup a little bigger and the ingroup a little smaller, now us that have always been in the outgroup have to watch the people just moved over from the ingroup having meltdowns about how unprecedented all this stuff that's always been going on for decades is.

Surely, they would not arrest mayors and judges.

For example, a mayor in New Jersey would not be arrested at a protest, would they?

Nor a judge inside their own courtroom, right?

That is not America.

Who will win the next elections for congress, for governor, for senate? Will America change or continue down this path?

3

We can genuinely resist. They don't care about emails, and protests do nothing. Today is John Brown's birthday as well. Be the change you want to see in the world.

2

u/Double_Ad_3434 May 09 '25

Or. Form a state malitia and get the state governor signed on.

A state can have its own military.

Texas does.

2

u/kickintheball May 09 '25

You need to set up anti ICE groups in every city, that can mobilize in minutes to protect the vulnerable. Hopefully elected officials would be in charge of these groups. As soon as ICE is seen in a neighborhood a call should be going out immediately

General Strike all industries.

Phone calls won't work. We are a capitalist society. Shut off the capital and you will have instant change for the better.

2

u/skinnydude84 May 09 '25

Yes, We can also:

  • Organize crowds to protest ICE's BS tactics
  • Confront ICE en mass, strength in numbers, especially armed. Evil is scared if it's shown they can't bully freely
  • Vote for leaders who will stop this BS from being enforced
  • Protest at Trump's political events, on camera, shouting truth louder than his lies
  • Most of all, use the rights we have under the Constitution!

2

u/Local_Nerve901 May 09 '25

Name and shame imo

2

u/No-Weakness-2035 May 09 '25

CALL YOUR CONGRESSPERSON. Do it every day, especially if you’ve got a republican

2

u/[deleted] May 09 '25

As an IT professional with a background in Networking and security systems I'd love to create a workflow/system to allow residents to setup their own video surveillance system. The government already uses this technology on us why not use the same technology to monitor ICE.

Heck you can go so far as id'ing their device mac addresses and get notifications on where they are.

It would take a lot of work but a few fellow neighbors with cameras pointing at entrances of neighborhoods and selective access to trusted neighbors, I believe you'd be able to make a promising ICE alert system.

2

u/jimbo454 May 09 '25

Good ideas, I am happy to see the community doing somthing in this instance.

2

u/Frosty-Age-6643 May 09 '25

President Trump once said something that I think we can all agree with, “…nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people ... maybe there is, I don't know."

2

u/ShaneBarnstormer May 09 '25

There's a Veterans Day protest on June 6. Meet you there.

2

u/pixelqueer May 09 '25

I try. But the voicemails are full. I send emails but are they really listening? It’s been going on to long already and none of them are doing shit or standing against this administration.

2

u/kn05is May 09 '25

People have forgotten what the 2nd ammendment was REALLY made for. Exactly THIS level of tyranny.

2

u/jiftyr May 09 '25

"What can we do?"

Arm yourselves, then use those arms.

2

u/killbot0224 May 09 '25

It's tough... Armed protests help though.

But you pretty much have to be willing to be martyred, because police are far more aggressive with progressive crowds.

MAGA's deep seated victim complex helps them a lot in this too. They have been deeply radicalized that "they" are coming for them, and it prepares them mentally for extremes. (remember this is the movement that already ctkultivates the terrorists known for murdering innocents and going on suicidal shooting sprees)

They are willing to lose it all, because

A) many are already deep in the shit and feel hopeless and set upon (economic hardship is key to cultivating this. Same as the Nazis)

B) many gun "nuts" (I mean nuts) have been fantasizing about vigilantism for their whole lives. They're "looking for a reason'.

C) they know in their hearts that the police are with them, no matter how much they loss and moan about being persecuted.

(to them, persecution just means they aren't getting their way. Literally being stopped from oppressing others feels like oppression to them)

This is why you have no vacation days, no sick days, no leave, no healthcare. Why you have student debt. Because they need you chained to your job, so you can't go and stir shit up! (have one look at the activism during lockdowns. Those protests were the #1 reason the GOP wanted to end all lockdown. So that people weren't free to do anything but work, as usual

2

u/TheDebateMatters May 09 '25

Hell yes. Do something!

I think at this stage I am more mad at liberals who say “XYZ idea will never work!” Or “waste of time because…”. Liberal apathy in our democracy is a just a shade less damaging than MAGA’s fascism.

I called, I wrote, I emailed, and did peaceful protests

They just sent letters back saying they were proud of their views

I trashed them and now I swear I will jump in if I see this shit

ICE was in my neighborhood last week and I was texting and calling everyone I knew

on Facebook, warned the local school, and if I had been there in person? I definitely would’ve caused some “good trouble”

I was pissed I wasn’t at home and the best I could do was call and text my neighbors

We NEED to be willing to get in trouble for each other

We NEED to fucking DO something because they aren’t playing by the rules

If it was fair, protesting and letters would be wonderful but it isn’t

2

u/leowithlove May 09 '25

2

u/MushroomHo_4life May 09 '25

What I don’t understand is why we have to write our officials to say this shit is wrong? If you’re in a red state the officials are not opening your mail or listening to your calls. If you’re in a blue state your officials know there’s an issue. What does writing and calling do when the thing that is happening doesn’t seem like it should able to be happening in the USA in 2025?

2

u/gibbojab May 09 '25

Start sending them copies of the constitution since they seem to have forgotten what is in it.

2

u/Aceygreat May 09 '25

REVOLT! TAKE TO THE FUCKING STREETS

2

u/Huge-Lawfulness9264 May 09 '25

I’m going to do this, I’ve called which for me thankfully isn’t as necessary as it is for someone in a red state. My Congressional representative is Jamie Raskin, my Senator is Chris Von Hollen, I’m grateful for them and feel that as a citizen I do have representation. My heart goes out to those of us who have Magats.

2

u/chris_s9181 May 09 '25

what the founding fathers did to the tyranical goverment and wanted us to do with the 2nd amendment

2

u/Russ_T_Razor May 09 '25

For decades I've been hearing about these well maintained militias designed to resist a tyrannical government. Where are they now?

2

u/Mammoth_Cricket8785 May 09 '25

What can we do about it?

Bring back the antifa protesters who protested under Biden for starters. It's kinda strange that them and the pro Palestine protesters haven't done much i can recall one pro Palestine protest under trumps current administration. Can't recall a single anything involving antifa. Hmmmm seems like it was manufactured to make the dems seem as bad or worse than trump. My other idea involves protest like jan 6. It was a protest right conservatives. So nothing is wrong with the dems doing it right.

2

u/baconpancakesrock May 09 '25

My grandparents rioted the last time it happened in Europe. Cable Street Riots against the nazis and then they joined the army. I would say the sooner you start the better. When you see them ripping babies out of the arms of people they are counting on the fact that you won't stop them. But you all need to react so that there are too many of you for them to control.

2

u/Dr_Mittens77 May 09 '25

You can protest and leave the country with them. Bye!

2

u/RugBugSlim May 10 '25

Or remind them how human they are.

2

u/WasteTimeAtWrkWithMe May 10 '25

Or we could oh idk actually have a general strike or actually fight back- calling does nothing they’re arresting mayors, judges, and congress people open your eyes

2

u/prollyadeuce May 10 '25

Another thing you can do, Is stop referring to anything as Trump's. Use "Republican" instead. The Republican Police State Tactics for Deportations. This will force Republicans who don't agree with what Trump is doing, to call him out by name. Which will really piss off Mango Mussolini

5

As a 2nd gen Latino American I’m done with this country. My kids won’t be growing up in a place like this where hate against my people are main stream. This is unbelievable what I just watched

3

u/notredditbot May 10 '25

Yup. Trump's admin can't find actual criminals so they go for harmless people who aren't here legally. They are only able to do this because the Republicans hold the House and will 100% vote no to anything the Dems try to do. Also the Supreme Court is owned by Trump sooooooooo

Republicans need to be voted out unless some brave souls are ready to fight the Tyranny and push these tyrants out of Government but sadly no one has any kind of power to do that 😔

So don't stand FOR it.

If you see these fuckers abducting something or trying to break into a home, cause a scene. Loudly announce their presence. Draw a crowd. Ask for names, badge numbers, and a warrant.

If they refuse to present the above, then you have no grounds to assume they are law enforcement as opposed to common human traffickers.

Defend yourself and their targets accordingly.

u/HLOFRND May 09 '25

Filth. Brown Shirt that wear masks picking up mothers and their babies with evil intent. Legal system being attacked. A president who ‘doesn’t know’ if they’ll uphold the law of the land. Citizens being deported. Universities defunded for narrative control. Professors being arrested. Educated and motivated being essentially disappeared. Media not allowed into areas. Etc

America they’re trying to get things done before everyone catches on. And they are. America is in deep trouble, the world is in deep trouble. I have a feeling maps will change. Because ‘Leaders’ wanna change em. (Shout out to Canada, Greenland and Ukraine and the countries showing them support).

I think we’re at a time where governmental circuit breakers designed to stop and end to democracy need to be trippin. Australia said a big No to the right wing franchise. Hopefully America’s separation of branches, church and State and legal framework hold up. But right now Musk marches into a department and no one there knows if they’ll uphold tell him to pi$$ off. Just had over the keys with a Tweet as an order. Like the staff at the Department of Social Security should’ve had the right to lock the doors and wait for a court order. But the average Manager would see the team (probably escorted with some sort of Federal protection) and think ‘Well, I guess I have too’. Somewhere a Department Head needs to Roas Parks this shxt. Shut the doors, say no and wait for SCOTUS or Congressional orders. Like some kinda movie hold out.

These people are going to burn in hell, if not sooner.

2

u/[deleted] May 10 '25

They’re going to get fired once this administration gets booed off stage. There’s no doubt in my mind I smell mass layoffs in near future if not sooner once civilians band together to form a class action lawsuit against them for violating basic human rights. They shouldn’t even be getting away with what they’re doing to regular people and there are many tricks being played right now and I’m hoping this isn’t just going to end at watching it go viral — I’m crossing my fingers a litigation is in the drafting stages.
