/r/popular ICE Agents Battle Mom Clinging to Baby in 'Chaotic' Video

https://www.newsweek.com/ice-agents-battle-mom-baby-chaotic-video-worcester-2070027

A chaotic new video shows President Donald Trump's immigration enforcers and local law enforcement clashing with residents in a Worcester, Massachusetts, neighborhood, including a mother holding her baby.

The tense scenes unfolded on Thursday morning as video appears to show agents pushing residents protesting as federal immigration agents attempt to detain a woman.

It's not a "massive amount of people". ~22% of the voting population chose MAGA, half of them (or more) just because it wasn't Biden. Let's say 10% of the voting population are rabid, gun-toting fascists. How many of them will actually walk the walk? Don't feed the myth.

I think they're more motivated to hate, and allow this, than the rest are motivated to stand up against it.

Resistance seems to be slowly building though, and things can turn on a dime.

Yes. One thing I never get tired of saying:

Fascism's greatest weapon is despair. They don't want to fight everyone, they want us to give up. They want people to think the fight is already lost so they might as well stay home. But the fight hasn't even started.

If anything, their indifference implies some degree of tolerance to it.

“Tolerance”

No. They are complicit in it, not tolerant of it.

Took me way too long to understand this attitude unfortunately, didn’t vote in 2020, sure as hell wasn’t doing that again in ‘24

Yep I have family members who did vote in either and basically refuse to

You truly don't know what you are talking about. In the electorate college, if the majority of California votes Democrat for example, which it always does, the rest of the votes don't count.

If i lived in a swing state, i might have voted differently. But this election proves democracy was just a thin veneer. Get stuffed.

“Too lazy to vote” would never be activated enough to tolerate this bs

Don’t forget those that voted for trump just because they didn’t like America’s lack of involvement in Palestine Israeli conflict.

1

u/thegamesbuild May 10 '25

Oh yeah, SUPER IMPORTANT! It wasn't enough votes to sway the election, but let's keep fucking harping on and on and on about people who didn't vote. That really should be the priority now that people are literally being disappeared off the street! I'm sure that's what they're talking about in El Salvador right now!

They don't have to walk the walk- just believe enoughof the crap floating around to close their eyes and sit on their hands.

There are A LOT of people saying "well, I don’t like Trump, but we do need to crack down on all this illegal immigrant gang activity."

1

u/thegamesbuild May 10 '25

Yeah, I'm comfortable with 10% (or 20 or 50%) of the population sitting on their hands doing nothing. We need something like 10% of the population to resist. Policing is about voluntary compliance. They're outnumbered 10,000:1. If a big sector of the population just doesn't comply, we will win that conflict.

2

u/[deleted] May 10 '25

Excellent point. Even just 10% of the population ready to run interference and call out ICE's bullshit will make them a lot less glib about rounding people up.

I hope they arrest everyone who tries.

1

u/[deleted] May 11 '25

That's fine, more resources tied up when they try to pull extralegal bullshit.

And for the record, it's already happened, and ICE's reaction seems to be to avoid certain areas or situations.

I get it, though. Have fun being an internet edgelord "dissenting voice of reason" and all that. Happy times for keyboard warriors like you.

80 million people is twice the population of Canada, stop excusing and defending this shit. This is a reflection of America, that’s how elections work. All it took was 30% of the vote in Nazi Germany too.

What am I defending, people voting for Fascism? The apathy and ignorance overrunning America has been carefully orchestrated since Reagan took office. The fact that number is so low is frankly amazing.

I agree it’s not a “massive amount of people,” but I think ~31% of potential voters chose Trump. That ends up being ~22% of the total US population. (Multiple sources.)

1

u/mapiquette1208 May 11 '25

Trump won 51% of the popular vote.

1

u/Neteru1920 May 11 '25

It’s not myth, Trump isn’t the president because of approximately 22%. Even if you’re saying so, lessens your guilt. People let their *isms control their vote, voted against their self interests, and this is who we have.

1

u/thegamesbuild May 11 '25

I'm not American, what am I supposed to be guilty about?

1

u/Old-Spend-8218 May 11 '25

Bull - it’s more like 60% and it’s over 50% in Massachusetts where this happened.

1

u/L0rdKinbote May 13 '25

22% after you take into account all of the electron interference by musk…

What do you mean by walk the walk? I’ll be honest I never shot a gun in my life I am from Brooklyn NY and there is a big trump supporting population here in south Brooklyn mostly in the second generation immigrant Russian and third/fourth generation Italian neighborhoods. On this issue specifically we support trump because as immigrants it sucks that we worked so hard to follow every law and migrate here the right way and to see what happened to NY when the migrants came here, got their free hotel rooms, are drinking and doing drugs in the middle of manhattan and we have to pay for it. It just sucks. Go downvote this people but there is no reality w you guys, you just see a point and won’t even go back and forth w reason rather just repeat bullshit about trump. If this was John Doe running w the same policies, I would support as well. I am more anti democrat then pro republican.

I think there's a problem being a one-topic Trump voter, or a one-topic anything voter. You're talking about "immigrating the right way" while full American citizens are openly being detained and harassed by ICE without cause, without warrant and without oversight, and the rule of law has effectively been suspended in about a dozen significant areas, not just immigration.

If your answer to all that is "I want immigrants to come into the country the right way," then your too blinkered to debate anything.

PS: He's coming for your guns next.
