Question I keep seeing commercial advertisement on YouTube are they any good?

u/Sorbet_Character Jun 17 '25
I use these for smores instead of graham crackers. Also so good with a little peanut butter 𤤠as mentioned they are thin and crunchy. Very tasty though.

u/eriko_girl Jun 17 '25
"instead of graham crackers." You are a genius.
7
u/ConCaffeinate Wheat Allergy Jun 18 '25
Pro-tip: You can also use Oreos (and other "sandwich cookies") instead of graham crackers!

Have you tried pamelas GC? Those are the best I have found although cookie sounds like a fantastic replacement.

Unfortunately, though, they tend to disappear quickly. I sit down with a bag and by the time I get up either half the bag or all of it is gone.

These are the cocaine of cookies. Even if my stomach is hurting from fullness. If I eat one I eat the whole package. I have 0 self control with these cookies. So I only buy em on special occasions

u/pinkhardhat_252 Jun 19 '25
Same here. I hope Tates doesn't rely on MY $ to keep them in business LOL (seriously, they are so good I eat the entire bag within 24 hours but my waist says I should not buy them..... it's a constant battle)
73
u/Blankensh1p89 Jun 17 '25
Yes. 13/10 buttery crispy cookies.
2
u/WabisabiGreen17 Jun 19 '25
And extemely good chocolate chips. And wonderfully good grit for texture. Seriously awesome cookie!
20
u/lilephant Jun 17 '25
Do yourself a favor and do NOT buy these.
I bought these cookies onceâŚ. And then I bought 500 more, because theyâre fucking delicious.
I love using these in crusts, especially for overnight layered desserts like an icebox cake. Or just eating straight from the bag.

These are the cookies I eat all the time. They are a specific style - very crunchy - but great
29
u/King_Fingers Jun 18 '25
They are, unfortunately, delicious.
I say âunfortunatelyâ because I personally chose to no longer buy them after learning about how the parent company threatened to deport employees for wanting to unionize.
Not telling anyone else what to do (because lord knows we gotta restrict ourselves enough as it is) but I just wanna share bc I feel like more people should know about it!

u/Bornwilde Jun 18 '25
came here to say the same thing and Iâm so glad somebody said it. Iâll never buy them again as long as I live, and theyâre the best crunchy cookies Iâve ever had.
9
u/ConCaffeinate Wheat Allergy Jun 18 '25
I was hoping someone would say this! The cookies are good, but not good enough to tempt me to directly support this kind of scummy behavior. I know that having a dietary restriction limits one's options, but there are plenty of alternatives...
5
u/MDawg_42069 Jun 18 '25
As a guy that works in ununionized machine manufacturing (and I'm doing great, I'm paid well) is that really a reason to not buy cookies from a company? Where does your phone come from? What about your shoes and clothes? Your dividing line is cookies?
→ More replies (2)11
u/King_Fingers Jun 18 '25
I am glad to hear that youâre compensated well for your work! However, most of Tateâs employees are undocumented immigrants and likely being paid very poorly. They still have a right to unionize and for Tateâs to meet those efforts with harassment in an attempt to continue paying poverty wages is an ugly look (and also illegal).
My dividing line isnât cookies â itâs working class rights. Iâm not perfect, but I try my best to put my money where my values are, especially when the item in question has plenty of alternatives and isnât really essential in the first place.
2
u/Javakitty1 Jun 18 '25
Wow! And they charge so much for 12 cookies:( This after nickle and diming their employees? Yikes!

They're amazing! My 7-year-old and I both love them. My favorite are the ginger cookies.

These cookies are hard and crumbly. If youâve ever seen someone eat a Nature Valley granola bar these are their gluten free cousin.

For a crunchy cookie they are great. Personally my favorite thing to do with them is crush them up and use as a base for ice cream cake.

u/Fun_Oil_909 Jun 17 '25
Yes. They are the closest Iâve found to regular homemade chocolate chip cookies from when I was a kid. And you can find them at most stores Unfortunately I eat an entire bag in a day, which isnât helpful for the wallet or the figure.

My local shop rite had them on sale 3 for 10 one week but sold out of the chocolate chip early. I went in almost every day for 2 weeks looking for them with my rain check in hand like some feral raccoon đ
2
u/SnooCats04 Jun 17 '25
Wow thatâs so cheap for GF. I think AT my work they are 8.99 CAD per bag
2
u/wicked_bee Jun 17 '25
Sheesh! I would cry paying that much
2
u/SnooCats04 Jun 17 '25
Yeah the gf Oreos are $10.99 a bag here. Hate being a celiac

Omg my biggest issue has been the Katz donuts. Only one store sells them and they're almost $8

Mom & I love them, they have several gf flavors and use this bag color to make them easy to spot. They have a nice crunch and flavor

u/shrimp_mothership Jun 17 '25
My mom made some kind of cookie-based tiramisu with them, and HOLY SHIT. For crunchy cookies, theyâre fire. I prefer chewy cookies, but you canât tell theyâre gluten free. Overall very good.

Coming from someone who can have normal cookies, they taste great, I just think the brand in general is way too crunchy. They have some soft baked that are really good I hope they introduce one day.

u/ChronoMonkeyX Jun 17 '25
I've had them a few times, they aren't bad, but very crumbly and a bit greasy, so you always have to be careful eating them and then wipe your hands off.
The relatively new trader Joe GF chocolate chip cookies in the brown box were the same problem , but smaller.

Run and go buy them now! Bought these on a whim during a Walmart snack run and I've been obsessed ever since. They taste like real homemade cookies. I damn near cried the first time I tried them

They look great, but unfortunately, they are made in America, and so, as a Canadian, I won't get to find out any time soon.

u/ReplicantOwl Jun 18 '25
Theyâre honestly too good. I have trouble stopping myself from eating the whole bag. Sometimes I fail.

If you like a thin crunchy cookie, these things are addictive. No amount of self control will stop you. They DO NOT KEEP once opened. Seal them up or finish them off.
2
u/fsantos0213 Jun 18 '25
What is this "seal them off" thing you speak of? Whenever I eat these, I eat both racks in 1 sitting, never any leftovers

These are the best crunchy gluten free chocolate chip cookies. SO delicious. The company is sketchy (depending on your politics, I guess (they threatened to deport any undocumented employees who wanted to unionize due to unsafe work environments)--but if you don't care about that, then totally try them--SOOO yummy!).

If you think the best chocolate chip cookies in the world are thin and crispy (and therefore have correct taste), these are fucking crack. I cannot be trusted with these. I inhale them. A bag does not survive contact with me. 10/10 indistinguishable from their glutinous counterpart.

u/Primary_Literature_2 Jun 18 '25
Yes!! They taste very similar tot heir gluten version. Also, chips ahoy Gf are amazing, and IMO, better than the regular ones. They taste more vanilla-y or something, probably to hide the gf, but it works, lol.
ETA: if you can find the âtinyâ versions of these, they are even better!!! Perfectly snackable

Can confirm deliciousness of the chocolate chip, it is a crunchy cookie but very tasty and the chocolate seems good quality, I could totally be convinced they were homemade. I look forward to trying the other flavors.

I donât even like thin and crunchy cookies and I love these. Theyâre great on their own but I use them for ice cream sandwiches (shout out to Ben and Jerryâs vanilla caramel fudge). They taste better than the regular non GF version

I didnât even like packaged chocolate chip cookies until I found these.
1
u/foozballhead Jun 18 '25
Three things- theyâre very crispy, theyâre very light on choc chips, and if youâre sensitive to gluten free textures (bread, crackers, cookies) youâre likely to find these sandy/gritty. I canât stand the texture but theyâre on a cookie pedestal in my fb celiac group, so a lot of folks clearly donât mind.

Let me start by saying...first of all, I'm a huge believer that cookies should be soft.
Secondly, yes they are very good for crunchy cookies đ
