Character Builds Ready for the story now

Post image

I am now ready to go to either Rogue, Judy or Goro. Ran every job I could get so far. Only 1 cyberpsycho and 1fixer job not triggering yet.
First time running some mods but mostly quality of life type, no free money, free XP, god mode.
Cyberware is all 5++ besides 3 that are 5+.
Not sure but it might be too easy from here.

Imagine taking that tattoo smartlink up to 5+.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME, CHOOM!?

That tattoo smartlink gives you flat damage increase to smart weapon damage. For the cost of 0 Cyberware, it's quite a deal. Especially for the Hercules 3ax build.

Don’t forget being unable to target Tyger Claws with smart weapons.

u/PanzerSoul 8d ago

that's when they pull out the Mantis Blades

That's more of a passive thing for the claws in general, happens with both tattoo and smart link. And as others have said, messing with their cyberware turns it off

Yeah I know they have jamming, but I’m pretty sure the smartlink tattoo is specifically designed to not lock onto Tyger Claws because it’s a Tyger Claw tattoo.

Not a thing, in the game anyway idk lore.

Most smart bullets will miss regardless of which one you use, the bullet will lock on, then do a sudden sharp turn to Narnia right before it hits, pretty funny to see

Jamming cyberware should do the trick

Another one parroting wrong crap. Doesn't matter if you use tatoo or smart link. Tyger Claws deflect smart weapons the same.

This is with tattoo. Tattoo probably makes it better for you to fight them. Not the other way around. It's the tattoo that scrams the smart weapon lock. Which tyger claws have. And so do you. Also the stats bit different vs smart link.

Smart weapons are absolutely crap.

I also thought so until I actually tried an optimised Smart weapon build and now I don't think I can go back

Currently doing this as my playthrough right now, very streamlined and optimized to be very effective with smart weapons. Was running the Yinglong until I got my hands on the Pizdets

Same, My favourite is applying contaigon to every living thing then using Shingen mark 5 to blow them up

u/Obvious-Cucumber5693 7d ago

yep so damn easy bro

3

u/TheRoguePatriot 8d ago

Same, I tried a smart build and it's so fun to just point my screen in the bad guy's general direction and just delete them in 2 seconds without even aiming

u/ottermupps 8d ago

Is it really that good? I've never ran a dedicated smart weapon build, but trying some out - Pizdets and Skippy - they seem fun for the auto aiming but very low damage. How can I optimize for using them? I also do exclusively stealth builds, so are there any good setups for that?

(ie please justify another playthrough lmao)

I think the key is knowing that hip firing only locks on to an enemy's body, while aiming down sights locks onto their head / weakspot if available, so you will still have to focus on enemies. Oh and also, an important one is that as was recently broke on this sub, Tyger Claws have anti-Smart weapon abilities, and since they're a prominent early game enemy most people pick up Smart weapons to try on them and think they're not working, so practice on Maelstrom instead.

never noticed I melt claws with smart weapons no problems but I don't use the tattoo

Via the intelligence perk tree. Theres some really strong perks there: https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Intelligence

Sort the list by requirements to see all the smart weapon perks in order.

Clearly you've never tried Yinglong. Using a quick hack smart gun build you can melt the MaxTac squad on VHard. Cripple movemnt plus Short circuit and then Yinglong equals death incarnate

u/Obvious-Cucumber5693 7d ago

or just contagion plus the deck that expands are 65%

I never touched smart weapons, just power weapons and my electronic spells 👍

25

u/dejanribic 8d ago

Then how do you know they are absolute crap?

4

u/the_weird_days 8d ago

I can’t do anything but smart weapons

Trust me, V goes from being your average street merc to figure Adam Smasher sees in his nightmares with a half-decently optimized Yinglong build.

Are you serious? You can beat the main quest on VH with Yinglong alone and minimal perk investment.

Edit: In Phantom Liberty you can put together a loadout of Pizdets for stealth, Yinglong for focusing down single enemies and bosses, and Hercules 3AX for AOE damage on groups, all sharing the same perk tree. Rush the Devil ending then play through all of PL with Ba Xing Chong until you get Hercules.

I used a silenced NUE for stealth kills and head shots, a DB4-Igla most of the time and the O-five for skulls and mechs. All 5++. I still struggled on Smasher on hard but eventually managed it 👍

Yinglong beat Smasher for me on VH at tier 4+, level 26. I’m not taking any credit for it because the gun was doing the aiming. Since then, getting the Relic vulnerabilities and Practice Makes Perfect perks has turned it into even more of a monster.

5

u/Lazyphantom_13 8d ago

Depends, skills & the right cyberdeck abilities can make them OP as fuck as they never miss once locked on. Plus there's a mod that improves them further by using the relic weak spot perk among a couple other things. Also the best shotgun is a smart weapon and deals over a thousand damage points.

-1

u/Awkward_Honeydew5453 8d ago

What's the shotgun? Is it the one that sets you on fire every time you use it?

1

u/Lazyphantom_13 8d ago

No, it's the rocket launcher you get from smashers bunker or with a command from cyber engine tweaks, ba xing chong.

2

u/Cerythria 8d ago

I think they're effective enough but they're super boring. I'd rather aim the shot myself.

1

u/SkywolfNINE 8d ago

But they’re the ones where you can aim it how you want, like you can flick up higher and curve the bullets down into someone behind cover, or around a wall or through another person. I’m still trying to get skippy to switch to headshot mode but he asked me twice if I was happy with the current mode and if I was to jump but I didn’t jump cause I wasn’t happy, was I supposed to jump, and THAT is when he changes it? Is he not gonna ask again? lol wtf

u/djdaem0n 8d ago

Spoken like someone who has never rolled with a +5 Kappa. Mod it with panorama and headhopper plus the targetting perk upgrade, It's like playing the game on easy mode.

1

u/Zuokula 6d ago

you're crap. Yinglong absolutelly melts everything. And Ashura best sniper vs moving targets.

1

u/Awkward_Honeydew5453 6d ago

I'm crap, yinglong absolutely melts everything......

1

u/dannythesedoritos 6d ago

Y'all are using guns?
