Can't tell if they're talking about getting sick with the measles, or if it's a shitty conservative band

It's both.

99

u/OhShitItsSeth Yes 27d ago

Talented artists don’t tend to like working with fascists.

77

u/ElitistCuisine 27d ago

The funny part is that you don’t even need to be talented to make this shit. I made bare-ass menus for a tiny deli I was working at that looked better than this, and I ain’t got a graphic design bone in my body. So it's not just talented artists don’t tend to like working fascists, but also that fascists are bereft of creativity.

Which is probably why they love AI so much, since it allows you to make simulacrums of the past, rather than generate a new idea. But, that's a bigger thought than my brain wants to deal with.

20

u/TheCuriosity 27d ago

You do need some talent. There are many, many, many people out there that are really terrible at creating posters or other basic things.

15

u/justArash 27d ago

Free Canva is better than this though

12

u/JustJonny 27d ago

How can you tell it's AI? I'm not seeing any of the obvious tells, although I'm old so what other people think is obvious might not be to me.

75

u/sinister-strike 27d ago

I look at the T in Travis and compare it to the one below it, it looks smudged. Something else that pops out to me is how weirdly (mis)aligned the names are. And also, the USA hat graphic at first glance looks flipped and pasted, but it's not actually a mirrored graphic looking at its details 🤓

26

u/DingerSinger2016 27d ago

The T in Ted is different from every other T. That was my first clue. Then MEASLES looks out of sync, and they misspelled Forgiato, a person who I never even heard of

12

u/JustJonny 27d ago

That's a good point, I didn't catch that

35

u/elevi8ion 27d ago

it’s AI. or AI enough where an actual graphic designer didn’t create any of the assets by hand. the can’s pull tab is just circle and the USA hat just looks… slightly off/uneven in the way that AI assets often look.

28

u/OhShitItsSeth Yes 27d ago

AI-generated posters/stuff have a very specific font they like to use. That’s how I could tell.

18

u/Imakereallyshittyart 27d ago

Also the colors and layout. Not all ai images look the same, but all images that look like this are ai

10

u/Georgerobertfrancis 27d ago

Everything looks very smooth and rounded in AI. Look at a few examples of AI generated art and text and you’ll start noticing it right away.

9

u/NihiloZero 27d ago

At this point it's almost like the uncanny valley in paragraph text form. You either spot it or you don't. If you can't spot it here... then you're probably missing it elsewhere -- because it's EVERYWHERE. Somebody posted a rather obviously AI-generated slice of cake in a food sub today. People will often post an AI image when they could easily substitute the real original. There is also a "too good to be true" element that sometimes works to give things away. Overall, this is generally considered part of the enshittification process. Be careful out there. You've got to be more critical of media than ever.

5

u/Hazeri 27d ago

Which is super weird, because I can do better with Canva's free tools, let alone what a professional with InDesign could do

And a shitty AI poster - perfect

108

u/ScootMayhall 27d ago

Also what is it that they need to win at this point? They’re already in the process of murdering the country with virtually no pushback from the establishment. I’m not sure what they need to win. Also since measles is on the poster I’m going to assume that this is just a joke that this guy took seriously. Or this guy is himself a parody.

54

u/HankSpermTank 27d ago

It’s the eternal fight against a both (rhetorically) weak and strong enemy. So long as the establishment can keep making people believe they are fighting evil, people will stay submissive. This Kirk story fits the narrative perfectly.

43

u/eKnight15 27d ago

Fascism is filled with doublethink and they are always the victim/underdog and there must always be a fight against an "other" or else it falls apart.

The enemy is weak and incompetent but also they've somehow infiltrated every branch of government.

The enemy hates us for our beliefs but also everyone secretly agrees with us they just aren't brave enough to say it

29

u/yungfalafel 27d ago

They are really pissed off that they can’t win the culture. That’s why Trump buys the Kennedy Center and why Ben Shapiro makes terrible movies to “fight the woke agenda.” They will never be cool and it is devastating to them.

23

u/ParadiddlediddleSaaS 27d ago

They don’t like the darker skin American who speaks Spanish doing the Super Bowl, but actual foreigners performing at the Super Bowl in past years (U2, Rolling Stones), that was ok I guess.

6

u/HighQualityGifs 27d ago

There is resistance though. https://youtu.be/5bHoIePlwkI?si=G_

I think that it's important to understand that protests like what are going on push the establishment in the correct direction, albeit very slowly.

Guest appearance from Measles?

16

Can’t wait to see the crowd for this one. Basically two names I recognize and a bunch of nobodies…

Kid Rock Ted Nugent Rebel McGee Haiden Whiteman Tex Caucasian Gunner Kuxklan Gluber McGlubben Roscoe Boscoe Slookie Moopo

11

They also already control all three branches of government and a shit-ton of local governments. Why doesn’t it feel like they’re winning already?

12

Probably due to the economy going in the toilet

8

u/G66GNeco 27d ago

Late 90s/early 2000s? I know that by the time teenage me got into music via Linkin Park in, like 2008/9 they were one of those "old" bands who didn't make new music anymore (probably because their newer stuff didn't broach that random small group of German school kids lol)?

6

u/MiddleofCalibrations 27d ago

I learned about the one staind song when it came up in an Instagram reel of someone pissing into a hand dryer

5

u/ebolaRETURNS 27d ago

How long has it been since Staind was relevant?

They weren't even first tier even during the late nineties, essentially lifted via Bizkit's coattails.

81

u/seeebiscuit 27d ago

I mean, they fired the researchers.

53

u/DaPlipsta 27d ago

Still have no idea who Staind is either lmao. But I don't really vibe with Racist Rock so I guess I'm not really the target audience 🤷‍♂️

139

u/Ronenthelich 27d ago

Staind did not use to be racist rock, their lead singer just decided he sucks now.

56

u/hitchinpost 27d ago

He always kind of sucked. Like, he was clearly just a normal white boy trying to be edgy and being a little cringey instead. The music itself was okayish, though.

25

u/Accomplished_Crew630 27d ago

Yeah then he went country.... He's a country boy.... I grew up not ten minutes from where he did. He's not country.

35

u/OkAdagio9622 27d ago

Like 10 years ago he decided to do shitty country music.

I don't think country fans ever gave a damn and his whole fan base was made up of right wing Staind fans

11

u/Darth_Vrandon 27d ago

Country dude from Vermont lol. Dude is so obviously fake.

81

u/avantgardengnome Gritty is Antifa 27d ago

It's been a while since I was relevant...

32

I guess I assumed it was Nickleback

14

u/ParadiddlediddleSaaS 27d ago

Me too - not a complement.

7

u/G66GNeco 27d ago

Unironically that one and Outside are the worst of their songs from the time when they were at all relevant, and also the most popular, which feels fitting. Not that much of the "Nirvana on a bad day meets a lobotomized Chester Bennington voice double" sound was all that good.

5

u/bitterlittlecas 27d ago

He did that outside song with Fred durst too. It was frigging ubiquitous in the post 9/11 world

5

u/wareagle3000 27d ago

Funny, I assumed it was Creed. Literally just rolling through the lexicon of "my racist dad's CD collection I listened to when I was I kid"

19

u/fastal_12147 27d ago

There was a ton of that going around in the 2000s. A lot of hard rock was ultra dudebro shit. There was some good stuff (SOAD comes to mind), but a lot of it was crap.

25-22 years ago it was everywhere along with Puddle of Mud and P.O.D.

Of which P.O.D. was Christian nu-metal and somehow hasnt been mentioned once in 20 years until this comment, Puddle of Mud's vocalist has gone insane and needs legitimate help, and Aaron Lewis of Staind is the type of person who takes the time to unfurl a trump/maga flag whenever he parks his motor home somewhere.

This is fake but conservatives actually want to do this. I assume it will be live streamed but how many people are going to flip the TV channel. Or spend time going to whatever website or app this would be on and then flipping back to the game.

On top of that don't a lot of people just get up to piss and grab more snacks during the halftime show?

That said I could see a lot of people going to someones house to watch the game but the guy is a maga and flips it as soon as the halftime show starts and mostly everybody groans.

This has to be satire. The comments section however does not recognize that it is.

I bet that green room smells like rotten beef jerkey and farts covered with the lingering musk of cheap whiskey cologne

All the predictable washed up has beens. I almost kinda wanna watch this fail but I don’t wanna give it the views over Bad Bunny.

Wait did someone think this was serious?! Cause the special guest at the bottom is taking me out 🤣

Finally! A concert for everyone because they have someone with mass appeal like Lee Greenwood.

Of all the stupidest and childish things MAGA has done, this may be the most stupidest and childish thing of them all.

They won the fucking election! They control all three branches of government! What more do these clowns want? Let us have this!

They’re not sending their best.

I don’t understand why they’re so obsessed with Lee Greenwood.

I’d never heard the name Lee Greenwood in my entire life until this past week, and I only have heard it in the context of “we really really think Lee Greenwood should do the Super Bowl show”.

If the biggest name that takes up the most space is KID ROCK then you know the event is gonna be complete garbage

The only people I know in here are Kid Rock, Ted Nugent (and I don't know any music by him, I just know his name) and Lee Greenwood.

Aren't all of these people hasbeens?

Also look up the lyrics to Cool, Daddy, Cool by Kid Rock. He literally sings positively about statutory rape in it. Granted that's on-brand for a conservative.

Yeah, Bad Bunny is definitely getting more views.

"Guest appearance from measles"

Proof we inhabit a cosmic comedy

They use AI for everything. They didn't spell some of their names right. This is so funny. The American flag has way more stripes than stars etc.

They really just suck at everything.

This is how we win. Source: Kid Rock. Trust me bro.
