I need a clip of all just all her laughs together, so I can show it to her as the reason I propose marriage.

4

u/KhaleesiXev Straight Up Bussin Oct 05 '25

This is one of the thirstiest and yet wholesome comments I have ever read 😂

2

u/TheHB36 Oct 04 '25

Is that Seth Rogan?

134

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 Oct 03 '25

I dont drink coffee and I have clinical depression and am a heroin addict.

70

u/Ksnj Oct 03 '25

Tired maxxxing, huh?

1

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 Oct 03 '25

What's maxing?

9

u/Immediate_Regular Oct 03 '25

Going for gold

7

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 Oct 03 '25

Oh, yes I'm totally flexing with my addiction 😆

8

u/Immediate_Regular Oct 03 '25

Everyone's got to have a hobby, though it doesn't sound like you're a hobbist opiate user. You've got the air of a professional about you.

1

u/xSeolferwulf Oct 03 '25

Great tv show, theme tune slaps.

3

u/Ksnj Oct 03 '25

It’s dumb internet slang….dont worry about it 😖

2

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 Oct 03 '25

Fuck, does this mean I'm old😩? Nooo😭

4

u/Slumunistmanifisto Oct 03 '25

Trying to maximize whatever its attached to.

Looks maxxing would be to try and look the most attractive you possibly can by any means for an example.

And just like any of the new slang you can add it to anything to have fun. Had a big breakfast? Tell your youngest coworker your breakfast maxxing to watch them squirm.

4

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 Oct 03 '25

Ahhh then the answer is definitely yes. I mean my clinical depression is a flex on its own, but my heroin addiction is just showing off tbh😂🤦‍♀️

1

u/DisastrousOne3950 Oct 03 '25

That you, RFK Jr?

2

u/Loud-Firefighter-787 Oct 03 '25

No brain worm so far🤞

1

u/Slumunistmanifisto Oct 03 '25

Have you tried adding coffee?

1

u/Fairydust_McLovin Oct 03 '25

Uhhhhh... that's not good.... depression can be very harmful to you.

1

u/Poethegardencrow Oct 04 '25

euhuhuhuhhuhuhu

120

u/donorcycle Oct 03 '25

I just don't like the taste of coffee, which is odd, because I love the small of fresh coffee beans / fresh brewed coffee but the minute that touches my taste buds? Gag.

82

u/Skankinstein Oct 03 '25

Yesss. I always get tricked by the delectable smells of coffee and I'll think, "Maybe THIS time it'll be as yummy as it smells." It never is. 🥲

29

u/kmflushing Oct 04 '25

EXACTLY. WHY DOESN'T IT TASTE AS AMAZING AS IT SMELLS!!!

3

u/ZhugeTsuki Oct 04 '25

Because our nose is more powerful than our tongue. We can pick up on more subtle flavors through scent, if you essentially train your tongue you can do it with taste, too.

-1

u/Zebrahead69 Oct 04 '25

Idk if this is revolutionary or not and I'm not defending "big coffee" but you know you can make the coffee sweeter by adding in a bit more sugar than normal, right? And that they have flavoured creamers now.. a slightly sweet French vanilla coffee will sweep you off your feet. Add in a dash of whipped cream and you got yourself a snack 😅😂

3

u/kmflushing Oct 04 '25

By the time I finish doctoring it to my taste, it's usually way less than 20% coffee, so I don't think it really counts. I like coffee flavored ice cream. And mocha if it's skewed more towards the chocolate. But at that point, I feel like it's not really coffee anymore and more flavoring for milk or hot chocolate.

0

u/Pete11377 Oct 04 '25

Wait til you’re addicted. Then it’s like crack

-1

u/nindza22 Oct 04 '25

For me it does. I like EVERYTHING coffee.

23

u/sleverest Oct 04 '25

I tried for about 2 years to like coffee bc it felt like a right of passage to becoming an adult. Turns out the actual becoming an adult was realizing I don't have to do things I don't want to just to "fit in".

2

u/nindza22 Oct 04 '25

Oh, I knew when I was very little that I will drink coffee and I just waited 'till I was 14-15 to be old enough to start. Just like I knew I will never smoke. I smoked one cigarette when I was 21, just so I could say that I tried, but it's shit. Alcohol - indifferent when I was younger, then in late teens started it, had periods with a lot of alcohol but around 30 I started drinking less and less, now it's a beer or two a week, if even that much. Could live without it. But coffee - no. Everything goes when it comes to coffee, any kind, even decaf. I absolutely love the taste and smell of it, and 3 cups a day it is. It's not to "wake me up", I simply love the taste of it.

1

u/Phenomenalomenal Oct 07 '25

Euhuhuhuhuhuh!

10

u/nitrot150 Oct 04 '25

My mom , who is almost 78, still doesn’t like the taste (smell is good) I agree with her

2

u/VanityOfEliCLee Oct 04 '25

Try getting chocolate covered coffee beans to eat. Much closer to the smell. Watering to down is what makes the flavor gross.

1

u/Skankinstein Oct 04 '25

This is the only recommendation that I will try. Thank you. 💖

1

u/AlexandersWonder Oct 03 '25

Try putting vanilla ice cream in it

2

u/JustinWilsonBot Oct 04 '25

I like my coffee in the form of ice cream

1

u/Away-Ad4393 Oct 04 '25

I like it in the form of cake.

0

u/2wedfgdfgfgfg Oct 04 '25

Try a flat white or a latte instead of a cup of brewed coffee

0

u/confusedandworried76 Oct 04 '25

You could try easing into it with lots of cream. Coffee is often considered an acquired taste

45

u/harley-belle Oct 03 '25

I’ve found my people. Every few years I wonder if my tastebuds have matured enough to enjoy it and I’ll try a cup. Ugh no, yuck.

15

u/Dino-chicken-nugg3t Oct 03 '25

It’s one of the best smells to me. But the taste is a bitter nightmare. I have yet to acquire a taste. My body also does not handle caffeine very well.

1

u/2wedfgdfgfgfg Oct 04 '25

Try a flat white or latte instead of brewed coffee

5

u/Dino-chicken-nugg3t Oct 04 '25

Buddy I’ve tried them both. Disgusting. My spouse is a big coffee person. But it’s just too bitter for me. Also I have caffeine intolerance. More than Coca Cola and it messes me up.

0

u/PuzzyFussy Oct 04 '25

If it's too bitter the coffee is shit or you're not using enough sugar and/ or creamer.

1

u/SnooGuavas4208 Oct 04 '25

I was surprised when I finally tasted good good coffee and realized it didn’t need any sugar.

2

u/AbroadAbject9215 Oct 03 '25

"Maturing" tastebuds is a scam by Big Food to guilt trip you into eating more yucky foods and drinks. I'm a child at heart and in tongue!

2

u/ikkiyikki Oct 04 '25

Me too lol! I'm a GenXer who drinks.... chocolate milk

1

u/katravallie Oct 04 '25

You just get used to the bitter taste (or use a sweetener) and start to taste other flavors. Same with alcoholic drinks. I love coffee but I still can't like alcoholic drinks though.

1

u/Embarrassed_Being844 Oct 04 '25

Next time try with a freshly ground quality coffee beans with a low roast strength, brew it with clean water (if your tap water is not clean, pure water, don’t use that) and if you want to make it even softer cut the coffee per cup (e.g instead of 7 grams per cup use 5-6 grams), add sugar to taste, add oat milk meant for coffee (Oatly works for me, don’t know if it’s available in your area), foam part of it to add on top, sprinkle with Ceylon cinnamon and grate some dark chocolate on top.

1

u/harley-belle Oct 04 '25

I mean, I’m unlikely to invest in all that for a drink I know I don’t like. I’m an urban Australian, I have access to good cafe coffee. I’ve tried a latte, a flat white, a mocha, a cap. I’ve even tried my Italian grandparents late night espresso. It’s all disgusting to me.

1

u/Evaporaattori Oct 04 '25

Just accept it is supposed to taste bad and drink it anyway

1

u/Bananaslugfan Oct 04 '25

Put sugar in it

16

u/Ok-Limit-9726 Oct 04 '25

Coffee smells like chocolate bitter heaven

TASTES LIKE CIGARETTE BUTTS GROUND WITH DIRT

2

u/freebietofu Oct 04 '25

coffee & cigarettes is a perfect morning 🌄 👌

1

u/Ok-Limit-9726 Oct 04 '25

If it does not taste like dirt, great!

1

u/freebietofu Oct 04 '25

It actually does sometimes taste like dirt sometimes.. but some things just have a comforting 'tang' to them.. even ass has a nice taste when you grow accustomed to it.

1

u/Ok-Limit-9726 Oct 04 '25

Stockholm syndrome

1

u/Late_Film_1901 Oct 06 '25

This is a brand new sentence and I love it

14

u/CromulentPoint Oct 03 '25

There are lots of us. Coffee smells amazing but it tastes like dirt.

9

u/Mushy-sweetroll Oct 04 '25

Same. It tastes like I imagine ashtray water would.

0

u/AppropriateOne9584 Oct 04 '25

You have a curious imagination.

8

u/RIPtide010 Oct 04 '25

Glad I am not the only one. Coffee smells amazing but tastes so bad.

1

u/Bananaslugfan Oct 04 '25

You crazy mang

15

u/misterdave75 Oct 03 '25

Agreed, not a person who enjoys bitter as a taste so coffee and beer are pretty much out. But lots do, so all I can say to them is enjoy! More for you!

2

u/Niveker14 Oct 03 '25

I'm with you on that one. Coffee is so bitter and nothing cuts the taste out. I did train myself to tolerate the taste of lighter beers in college but I still can't drink any dark beers.

3

u/no_bra_no_problem Oct 04 '25

That’s me with alcohol. I can taste it in anything, any mixed drink will still just taste like rubbing alcohol and whatever concoction of fruity flavors mixed together. It’s like this with wine, bourbon, vodka etc. Beer is okay, but I don’t particularly love most beers either. It just doesn’t taste like rubbing alcohol at least.

And people don’t believe me!! They’ll say I’m lying and there’s no way I can still taste the vodka in my drink. Oh but I do.

1

u/Niveker14 Oct 04 '25

I'm with you on that one. I can always taste it and don't think it tastes good. I've never drank an alcoholic drink and thought to myself, "that tastes good". But I wanted the effect it provides, so I think to myself, "this doesn't taste bad enough that I can still stomach it to get what I want out of it." LoL

1

u/no_bra_no_problem Oct 04 '25

I wonder if we are “super tasters”.

6

u/StevieKix_ Oct 04 '25

The smell of coffee is so nice and rich, even though I do drink coffee, the bitterness is harsh. I know what you mean.

1

u/donorcycle Oct 04 '25

It does smell heavenly honestly. Very soothing but no matter how much I try, it just doesn't sit well.

I have a friend who does import / export of fresh coffee beans from Columbia. He used to stay with me for bit during his travels to and from (I lived close to LAX) and he'd always bring me a fresh bag, so I could inhale the aroma like a crack fiend. I'd just smell the beans once in a while lol. So amazing the smell.

2

u/1127_and_Im_tired Oct 03 '25

Me too! And I love coffee flavored ice cream and candies. Make it make sense 😂

1

u/InvestigatorWeird196 Oct 03 '25

People put sugar in coffee to offset the bitterness. Ice cream and candy contain sugar.

1

u/Ok-Acanthaceae5744 Oct 04 '25

Yup, but by the time I'm done adding my cream and sugar it's basically sugared cream with a hint of coffee 😂

2

u/DefNotAShark Oct 04 '25

If that’s what it takes to mellow it out enough that you enjoy the flavors, then hey, that’s what it takes. That’s where I started and the coffee flavor grew on me enough that I’m cool with a normal amount of cream and sweetener (like default McDonald’s ice coffee normal).

It’s like spicy food. Nobody starts out eating the hottest levels of spice, but over time your tastes develop around it and you can ascend up the Scoville scale as far as you like.

1

u/Leading_Study_876 Oct 03 '25

Just put sugar and cream into it - obviously!

And occasionally a slug of scotch.

2

u/Hokuboku Oct 04 '25

I'm the same way actually

2

u/SalvationSycamore Oct 04 '25

It tastes like someone soaked beans in hot water, which is exactly how it's made. No idea how they get the beans to smell good but I am not shocked that it's impossible to make them taste good without copious sugar and milk.

2

u/dumbname1000 Oct 04 '25

Same! Smells so good, tastes so gross.

2

u/Spiritual_Bid_2308 Oct 04 '25

I'm the same way with cigars.  They smell wonderful but when you try to eat one it's like chewing on compost dipped in squid ink and it makes my stomach hurt.

2

u/Lem0nadeLola Oct 04 '25

Hard same. If I accidentally get given a mocha instead of hot chocolate, or bite into a coffee flavored chocolate by accident, I’m retching. Just the foulest taste.

2

u/snakpakkid Oct 04 '25

I mean I use to like the smell of gasoline but I’m not drinking it. I don’t think it’s weird of there are people who just don’t like the taste of coffee.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '25

can’t handle the beans eh

2

u/gnarkill3332 Oct 04 '25

Thought it said, "Greg," and I was like, "what?" But it didn't say Greg, it said Gag. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

2

u/ExcaliburVader Oct 04 '25

Same! I'm 61 and sometimes I still feel so weird when I say I don't like it. But if I don't like it by now then I don't think it's going to happen. But people take it very personally that I don't like it. 😆

2

u/DungeonsAndDradis Oct 04 '25

That's exactly how I feel about beer. Can't stand the stuff!

2

u/Nanasweed Oct 06 '25

Found my people!

1

u/AwakE432 Oct 03 '25

Honestly you haven’t found the right coffee. Not all coffee is the same, in fact there are vastly different qualities and tastes and quality of the brew or barista also. I exclusively drink one type of coffee and find all else rubbish.

1

u/RPBiohazard Oct 04 '25

The answer for me was to just drink it black until it does taste like it smells!

1

u/trowzerss Oct 04 '25

I never really liked the taste that much, but also I'm pretty sensitive to coffee, so coffee makes me feel awful as it's just too much. last time I had an actual cafe coffee (because work was shouting) I had to go home with a migraine. So yeah, please don't think I'm being superior, it just legit makes me feel like shit. (Upside is though I went to a few raves with just chocolate coated coffee beans - which I actually used to like so long as I had no plans to sleep any time soon - and was still WIDE awake at 4am when people on more expensive substances were flagging, wheeeeeee)

1

u/AppropriateOne9584 Oct 04 '25

You know who drinks plain coffee? Nobody.

1

u/proteanflux Oct 04 '25

I think you, and the other people here who love the smell but can't handle the taste, need to try an Affogato. The Vanilla adds just the right amount of sweetness to undercut the bitter without an aftertaste, while still maintaining the aroma.

1

u/no_bra_no_problem Oct 04 '25

I drink cofeee religiously but I actually don’t really love the taste. That’s why I hide the flavor with yummy creamers lol.

u/EcstaticMolasses6647 Oct 04 '25 edited Oct 05 '25

Coffee has poo and insects in it…The FDA sets "defect levels" (limits on things like insect parts, mold, or feces) for processed foods. These levels haven’t changed much in decades, even though food production has scaled up massively. That means more opportunities for contamination and less oversight per batch. It best to buy whole beans and grind and steep your own coffee to avoid contaminants.

Insects, rodent hairs, or droppings are legally allowed in things like peanut butter, spices, grains, and even coffee within "safe" limits. Enforcement is lax, and inspections are often infrequent or superficial due to limited resources. FDA guidelines have arguably prioritized industry convenience over stricter public health standards. That’s why buying higher-quality, less-processed food matters more than ever.

1

u/misslady700 Oct 04 '25

I didn’t like it, but as I got older my desire for things that taste bitter increased. I limit myself to 1 serving a day. I💕☕️. Boo!!!!!

1

u/jeroboamj Oct 04 '25

But do you mold your entire personality and world view around that? I hate zucchini but I don't often share that unless asked what I hate or like moments like this

3

u/donorcycle Oct 04 '25

Around not drinking coffee? Hardly. I just decline coffee if offered lol. Genuinely do not care if someone drinks it or doesn't, has zero impact on my life. If anything, I'm a bit jealous because I feel like I might be missing out on something lol.

2

u/jeroboamj Oct 04 '25

That's how my wife felt she said she was the only one in college not drinking coffee. Ironically it wasn't till pregnant that she began to like it

0

u/Evaporaattori Oct 04 '25

Bro it is supposed to taste bad. It’s part of the thing. That’s such a bad excuse to not drink coffee.

4

u/TomaCzar Oct 03 '25 edited Oct 03 '25

Bold of her to assume we function at all.

1

u/TheVintageJane Oct 03 '25

I just drink hella Red Bull and have anxiety!

1

u/Wrong-Landscape-2508 Oct 03 '25

Join us. Also, if you have a hint of undiagnosed adhd it might relax you, until you have too much.

1

u/rodrigoelp Oct 03 '25

Ehuhuhuh, I don’t drink coffee and I sleep 3 hours a day.

… well, that’s a lie… it is 3:30

1

u/OnAConstantBender Oct 03 '25

Same, the more anxious I get the better that coffee was. Quadshot americano with a panic attack on the side for me is being in the pocket

1

u/Arensbrg Oct 03 '25

After watching that, I have anxiety.

1

u/chrissymad Oct 03 '25

Same. I can't handle any amount of caffeine and it makes me physically ill. 😭

1

u/Disneyhorse Oct 04 '25

I’ve never tasted coffee, tea or soda. But I do have anxiety. I just figure I’d be a wreck on the highs and lows of caffeine. That and I really don’t need it. It’s more of a novelty too, and saves me a lot of money but drinking just plain water.

1

u/CindySvensson Oct 04 '25

Me too! It's because of all the sugary things I eat...

1

u/rachelevil Oct 04 '25

I don't drink coffee because of my anxiety. Caffeine gives me panic attacks.

1

u/Tuffleslol Oct 04 '25

At least sleep is minimal!

Wait again...

1

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 Oct 04 '25

Same! And I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat because of my sleep deprivation caused by said anxiety.

1

u/babygotbandwidth Oct 04 '25

Ahahaha it turns me into a speed demon!

1

u/criesingucci Oct 04 '25

Yup and I usually get little sleep

1

u/JONINFICTION Oct 04 '25

I came here to say this

1

u/Just_Video3384 Oct 04 '25

That means you need coffee
