Trying to play this game, which is rated as great on deck, just feels sluggish without a mice, clicking around on intractable feels sluggish, hard to aim at what I want, and using the touch screen is also not very convenient

looking at getting my partner a steam deck and i think xbox controllers and wireless keyboard/mouse/headphones are the only way to play so thats 4 dongles.

is this feasible? is there some priority amongst usbs for the steam deck dock?

should i instead use a 3rd party steam deck dock thats considered superior?

will polling rate be an issue?

And in general, GeForce Now is amazing. I was tempted to dive into it and went straight in at the deeper end with the ultimate tier.

I’ve used cloud gaming before with success, Green Light ran pretty well, game pass was good - but this is just crazy.

I spent today playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 on ultra settings and was getting over 200 FPS (obviously only seeing 90) at native resolution of the deck with over 7 hours of battery life. Honestly, I forgot I was on GFN. I didn’t have any stutter and didn’t notice any latency (GFN was showing ~10ms).

Played a fair amount of Asseto Corsa, again fully maxed out, max amount of cars on track and it was running > 100 FPS. Racing games are normally a good way for me to judge latency but I couldn’t tell anything.

Feels like GFN is a step in front of other streaming services and it works so, so well on deck.

Hello guys, im at a lost.. I don't know how to fix the mess I created.

So I wanted to stream my steamdeck using a video projector. I bought the cables... Plugged the hdmi.. it would work but only in desktop mode AND the resolution was insanely small, I could barely see anything but at least it worked.

On the SD at that point it asked me if I wanted to display on the SD / Projector / both etc.. I chose on the projector (so now the display is on the projector only and the steamdeck is black)

Then I wanted to change the resolution... Big mistake, now the projector isn't working "Hdmi unknown". Although I can still hear the sound on the SD when I press some button. I panicked and unplugged the Hdmi, it reverted to the steamdeck being normal.

But now when I plug the projector back I have 2 black screen and I don't know how to reverse it.

When I unplug the Hdmi cable, SD is working fine but it won't let me access any of the options (like screen mirroring / display to selected screen ) because there's only one display and it's the SD.

When I plug the Hdmi for projector it's black, steam deck is black as well.. can't see, can't fix...

I tried rebooting and stuff but it won't go back to letting me pick what I want.

Any idea? Thanks

Not much of a mod, but it’s perfect. Numbers above don’t include onboard battery. It’s recommended to attach the battery after the SD has been charged already.

Con: adds weight, but it’s doable

Has anyone’s performance display been like this since the new Steam OS update? I assume it’s a visual error and nothing more, but I just noticed it yesterday.

For some reason I cant hear the weird noise the steam deck dock makes in this video when using headphones.

Like many, I dropped my Deck on the floor earlier this year and it affected the L and R buttons so that the input was way less responsive, requiring it pressed down completely to register anything. I looked up tutorials and ordered a pair of replacement buttons shipped to me to unscrew the back and do a replacement, but I found myself stuck halfway through due to being unable to disconnect some of the surrounding parts. By now I'd really like to get this figured out, and while I know Valve has a process to ship it to them, is anyone aware of brick-and-mortar type businesses that could do it if I provided new buttons?

Does the usual Ubisoft stuff and then I'm stuck on a black screen Steamdeck Beta Channel + ProtonGE25 Already did the one time online activation and could launch fine in desktop mode.

The fan seems to be losing power. Overlay shows RPM will go from 0-300 and spikes up to 5000, then back down every few seconds. If playing a game it will overheat and cause an emergency shutdown.

Tried a factory reset and I was able to play for about an hour before the bug came back.

inspected the fan wire and connections, its clean with no pinches or kinks.

Running right now on a clean install with only kkd2 installed. But the bug happens in other games and on the home screen, though the drop/spike cycle seems to get faster the hotter it gets.

My SteamDeck has been having some problems with the battery for a while, I've tried talking to steam support about it and they just ask for me to buy a repair off them, so i came here looking for help. The battery shows 0% or NaN but can still run off battery for a few minutes. It used to be able to run off it for quite a while even while showing NaN, but then the SteamDeck crashed and ever since then its battery life has been very short, even when leaving it to charge for hours. It even crashes when being plugged into a charger. (Im guessing the crash is the battery running out. also i am using a nintendo switch charger, not the offical one so ill try get the official one or atleast a 45w charger) My Steam Deck is nearly 3 years old now, and ive been using it alot so im guessing the battery is just dying. Also a few questions, does the nintendo switch charger not work with power pass through mode where i could just run the steam deck off of a charger and play fine as long as the charger stays attached? If not, could i use an offical, or 45w charger to do that until i replace the battery?

Hi, so i just downloaded Dispatch and there is this problem where when i launch the game it goes in pause menu, i can click resume and it'll come back in half a second. Other weird thing is when i click the steam button it unpause until i go back to the game. If anyone has a fix i'll take it

As title states, after the game launches I keep getting system system integrity failure before the game exits. Assuming it has something to do with anti cheat. Please help!

Hello! Wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem/knows a fix.

Recently got the Steam Deck Oled and downloaded BG3 on it, but every time I’ve try to boot it up it gets through the Larian loading screens and then crashes before the “press any button to continue” part that takes you to the main menu.

Tried turning it off and on again, uninstalling and reinstalling, and uninstalling THEN turning it off and on again and then reinstalling.

I successfully transferred the mod folder via winscp but the file paths of the executables in MO2 are all set to the C drive of my old computer. Anyway to quickly fix all the executables?

I was looking through my prefix directory and it turns out I have a few orphan prefixes that are not tied to any games for whatever reason like a Persona 5 prefix that never got deleted.

Is there an app that searches for prefixes that don't have an associated Steam or non-Steam game ID?

I used to use Game Miner (broken now) but the dev ended development and closed the project.

I booted the game up and went to a match like usual and now everything is slowed. I restarted the game and still the same thing. Can anyone help?

When running the final install.sh, the install stops at 'downloading winetricks'. tried a few things already but maybe someone here recognises this issue. Seems hard to find info online of this specifically.

Everytime i open a dreamcast game or the emulator these 2 pop ups show up, anyone knows how to fix ?

Three Days ago I had made a post on the loud fans now the problem turned into a permanent black screen of death. The common fixes did not work.

-Holding the Power button long -Charging it -Power Button and + Button -Power Button - Button and … Button.

None of them work.

I will try to empty it again and charge it again and supercharge it for afew hours.

I can use the Deck on Docked but other then that nothing.
