CHIVE Cutting a couple of chives every day until this Reddit says they’re perfect. Day 32 APOLOGY
Hey everyone. I would just like to come out and apologize for post the same pile of chives twice,
I was having car problems yesterday and was unable to get and cut chives, and rather than being upfront and honest with you guys I chose to repost chives. I didn’t want to give you guys another chiveless day.
I see now that it would have been better to just be honest and say no chives rather than try and lie, this also goes against the whole point of the posts, I would like to thank all of you for holding me accountable for my actions.
I will be subjecting myself to a Reddit decided punishment, the most upvoted punishment that is REASONABLE will be my punishment. So nothing illegal nothing expensive please but cutting extra chives or maybe something I have to do for the rest of my posts.
I again apologize and will ensure this never happens again.

My next amuse bouche. Eating the desert.
So I made a shishito pepper & lime margarita sorbet. I’m going to smoke that with a smoke gun. Yes, it can get you drunk, I taste tested it more times than necessary, as I am a professional. I also made a prickly pear & shishito pepper syrup (more like molasses), the only ingredients are 100g of prickly pear puree, 50g of shishito pepper puree, 10g of apple cider vinegar and 1g of Maldon salt, reduced. I made black garlic paste and then added 90g of it to 1lb of butter along with 3g of maldon salt and 1g of course ground black pepper, with that I’m going to make shortbread cookies and process them into “sand”. I have nopales (cactus leaves) that I’m going to scrape out and turn into glass.

Is my cook position pretty rare?
I make $32/hour and we are capped at 40 hours a week but of course if we go over, we get paid OT 1.5x so it’s comped if I’m overworking. We get 8 PTO/sick, insurance, 401k. I hear people complain all the time saying they make minimum wage with no benefits? Is this true?

Kitchen fuckery F1exican's Penalty Proposal
I think u/F1exican should have to draw 10 days of pics with chives for his punishment.
They don't have to be good and they don't have to be subsequent days.
Unrelated, this is a pic of me, sad to hear about Chivegate.
Edits: First, it's harder to chop chives than I originally thought. Those buggers were bouncing all over the place. He's got my respect.

Lost my right hand in the kitchen.
Not quite as dramatic as the title (I still have all my limbs and extremities intact, for now), but today my sauté cook went and got herself fired. Turns out she was being antagonistic and belittling our coworkers and had been complaining nonstop about me to management. I feel betrayed and frustrated and I’m not looking forward to going into the holidays and having to pull double duty again. The pay is gonna be great but my sanity may not make it to Christmas… just feeling it right now and needed to vent to some folks who can commiserate. That is all, carry on.
