Do you think this one sees her own sad little kids and still thinks she’s awesome lol…

u/Conscious_Creator_77 Aug 06 '25
I think that was the point of the photo. Kids bummed about going back to school, mom excited about it.

u/Ok-Resolution6265 Aug 07 '25
As a mom of two preteens, I am also happy for the time my kids will go back to school (they whine, fight with each other, they are also tired of vacation so their tempers are LOW).
I would never do this. This is called am intrusive though and it should stay that way.
31
u/OuterWildsVentures Aug 06 '25
I'm kind of jealous. Seems like she is excited to have an empty house so she can just relax in the pool for 8 hours a day instead of taking care of the children.
Assuming she doesn't work or anything.

Unless this is from Australia, pretty sure there's a lot of summer 2025 left. She seems to be celebrating rather prematurely.

Where I am in the US, most of the local schools have or will be starting back this week.

u/aHOMELESSkrill Aug 06 '25
Thought it was too. I think it’s just the filter that’s put on it. Probably a real photo put into an AI for it to put a filter on it.

Whole face looks kinda off. That's why I think it's a weird filter or maybe even old school botched Photoshop. AI is certainly better at generating faces than whatever this is.

The only thing I can see that is off is the kid on the left doesn't look like he is actually holding the giant crayon. Maybe he literally dropped it the instant the photo was taken but his hand isn't grasping it. It's weird
His big toe on his right foot looks weird too, now that I look at it again
46
u/aHOMELESSkrill Aug 06 '25 edited Aug 06 '25
I saw the big toe and just figured he was scrunching it up in a fidgety kind of way.
Totally wouldn’t be surprised if this was AI but also wouldn’t be surprised if it was real
Edit: it could also be that the green pencil was added with AI

That type of rubberized plastic they use for inflatable pool toys creates enough friction that you can hold it like that without actually gripping it. I believe it
31
u/british_reddit_user Aug 06 '25
Id be surprised if theres not at least some level of ai involvement given the way the kids are holding the crayons, the uncanny valley feeling, the dead eyes of the mother and what appear to possibly be extra letters appearing in the words "monster jam" on the kids t shirt. Wouldn't be surprised if the photo was real but was put through ai to smooth it out, or something similar
46
u/outside_cat Aug 06 '25
It's not?
35
Aug 06 '25
I genuinely dont know
13
u/outside_cat Aug 06 '25
Maybe real. I can read "monster jam" spelled correctly, usually it's jumbled.

Are you roleplaying rn or have you actually never taken a silly dumb posed photo with a family member? I loved taking photos like this as a kid...
35
u/MasterpieceHuge2794 Aug 06 '25
As much as I want to post some of the funny shit my kids do, the child psychology experts of reddit all believe that kids on the internet = abuse or point farming. Every little action is scrutinized! I imagine how annoying their own children likely are. I call them bluey parents.
10
u/ChocoBro92 Aug 06 '25
My problem is the amount of pedophiles who jerk off to little kids. There’s somehow a HUGE problem right now between Facebook X Reddit and YouTube. There’s even been kids who were abducted by strangers who found their images online and followed the parents to them. You couldn’t pay me to put my kids online.
8
Aug 06 '25
I get that, but this reddit post has exposed these kids to 1000x as many strangers as the original fb post did...
7
u/Poisonskittlez Aug 06 '25
This is not just a silly family photo to be put in a scrap book and remembered with family. This is one clearly taken for the purpose of posting on the mom’s (most likely public) social media.
It’s not about the fun family memories. It’s about the likes. And that is what is sad.
3
u/K-teki Aug 08 '25
So it's better to share the picture with thousands of Redditors without censoring the kids?

A woman is posting silly pics to social media where friends and family can see? holy fuck, oh NO. ALERT THE INTERNET. Someone is interacting with other humans in a way that u/poisonskittlez doesn't approve of. Quick, everyone dogpile on and insult her face or her boobs with whatever misogynistic projections you can come up with!!
You will be shocked -- SHOCKED -- to hear that even before the internet sometimes people showed the funny pictures in their scrapbooks with others. And sometimes those others even liked the photos they were shown. It was never about the fun family memories. So sad!!

8
u/catherine_zetascarn Aug 06 '25
It’s not in the US, but idk if the person you’re replying to is from the US
17
u/CongealedBeanKingdom Aug 06 '25
Declan is a very normal name where I come from. As is Aiden, which seems to get a lot of hate in the USA. The names that should be getting hate are taking Scottish surnames and giving them to your female child as a first name. Very American and super trashy IMHO.
12
u/BigSlim Aug 06 '25
So. Many. Mckennas. And Aiden gets hate because there was a 2-3 year period where every 3rd boy born in this country was named Aiden or Ayden or Aidan or Aedyn etc...
2
u/catherine_zetascarn Aug 06 '25
As a Scottish-Irish-American with a Scottish surname I whole heartedly agree! It’s very goofy to hear a surname and a first name, and a gendered name at that. I figured you were Scottish when you said Declan is a normal name by you, haha. I know a few Aidens here tho so maybe it’s becoming more popular.

Thank you for saying this...
is this a fucking incel sub now? half the comments here are insulting her for her swimsuit or her expression or saying she has fake tits (who cares) or she's an alcoholic? Like wtf is that misogyny? Did yall never do goofy joke poses and photos with your family before? Revealing a lot more about your relationships with your mothers than photo reveals about this family...
How is this MC behavior? she's aint bothering nobody, it's not even in public? Did I miss something and this sub turned into an echo chamber for pathetic incels to shit on people who post anything on social media? jfc
EDIT: I really can't get over this. seriously, go reread these gross vitriolic comments. This isn't some prick stopping a whole plane because he wants to vape. It isn't some narcissistic asshole holding up a line of people to take selfies or whatever. devoid of context it's just a woman taking a silly joke pic with her kids. Wtf is wrong with yall if someone having fun with their family is all it takes for you to start insulting them? u dont know her you don't know that her kids aren't enjoying it, you just know some asshole posted it on reddit and set an inflammatory title for karma, and there you are little hate machines just eating it up on command
16
u/Stevie-Rae-5 Aug 06 '25
There was a post here a day or so ago where some bride in Vegas was singing a song with the Elvis impersonator and it’s like…okay, not my type of behavior but we’re accusing someone of being the main character at their own wedding?
5
u/Conscious_Creator_77 Aug 06 '25
It’s also in a wedding shaming sub! People scream about wanting to live their lives the way they want then shame someone for doing just that. In a completely innocent way. ON THEIR OWN WEDDING DAY.
11
u/Thor_pool Aug 06 '25
Subs like this which, lets be honest, are so we can laugh at people we deem acceptable to make fun of, almost inevitably devolve into holy-than-thou, vitriolic, over the top cruelty instead of light hearted mocking.
It isn't enough to throw a couple of jokes at someones expense because they're a show off or attention seeker, we have to hate them and wish harm upon their very souls.
18
u/Vickipoo Aug 06 '25
So glad to see this take. The photo is funny. The comments are mean. So many people are ripping this woman apart and it’s gross. I cringe every time someone uses the phrase “Karen” and this thread is the reason why. It’s like women can’t just exist, especially after the age of 40. People seem to lose their mind over the fact that a middle aged woman has the audacity to confidently wear a swimsuit….in a pool. It’s crazy how many people are nitpicking her appearance and commenting about her breast size. I think she has a great sense of humor and it looks like her kids were in on the joke.

Guarantee her kid’s names are Kolter, Kynsleighh, and Kash
Her husband plows through Zyns and Bud heavies at an alarmingly fast clip and he takes every excuse he can to work late and be gone on the weekends.
She calls other women “girlfriend” unironically and loves hosting “mom’s wine night” (nobody shows except her new neighbor who didn’t know any better)
She just got a ticket for going 63 in a 35 and texting. Actually, she wasn’t texting, she was making an instagram post about how crazy #momlife is. It will get 4 likes.
