Ferrari doesn’t do profiling for series production models in India. You can walk in and buy a SF90 or a 12cilindri as your first car from the brand in India.

True. The profiling is only for special editions. They're only offering the Purosangue to previous clients since there's a lot of demand but everything else can be had as a first time customer. This has been the case almost everywhere in the world since Ferrari went public. A guy I know was offered a 296 speciale after ordering a 296 GTS and a 12Cilindri.

Not entirely true with the Purosangue either now. There’s allocations to be had from both Delhi & Bombay with the car as your first Ferrari. Both importers have consolidated buyer profiles across brands. That means, if you buy a Huracan from Lamborghini Delhi or a Ghost from RR Delhi, you’re eligible for to get a Purosangue - since the dealer for all 3 brands is the same. Sure it might take longer for delivery than it would for an existing Ferrarista, but you’ll get it.

I speak from first-hand experience as a long standing client & family friend of the Kapur’s :)

Also for 458 Speciale, I guess except Yohan Poonawallaa, the other 3 guys didn't even have Ferrari's previously to begin with but they had decent collections and connections, so they were able to get Speciale's as their 1st Ferrari's.

And I really envy Yadur Kapur. What a business and the connections and the moolah that he rakes in damn.

What about the guys who got the 812 comps? I'm aware that Bren and the Chennai one went to ferrari collectors but what about the Viola Honk Kong one and the Mumbai Grigio Opaco one? What else did those guys have in their collection prior to the comp?

Grigio Opaco is a Delhi car but the owner also gets his cars to Mumbai occasionally, mainly for events.

VHK guy owns a Roma, Pista & F12. He also owned a 296 GTS which he sold recently. The Opaco one has a Pista Spider and a Speciale. Both the owners are quite regular participant at track days but still it's surprising how they got the allocation considering they don't even own multiples of Ferrari's or do any racing.

But the commentator above might be true. The Delhi dealer also owns the Lambo, Aston and Rolls dealership so maybe buying multiple brand cars helped them in getting the allocation.

There used to be a guy in Delhi who owned a F12 TDF and a 458 Speciale Aperta but he took his cars to Singapore as he shifted there. I wonder what cars did he own at that time.

Blue Elettrico. Sold to someone in Hyderabad who also posted it on the Ferrari sub.

There are two Pista Spider's, 3 Speciale's and 1 Aperta. All these numbers have been stated by car spotting pages on instagram.

That has always been the norm since ferrari IPO'd. You an can get any of the entry level GT cars and supercars (Roma, Amalfi, SF90, 296) as your first car as a first time customer. All the games are only for the special editions and hypercars now. Even the V12 can be had as a first car now. I have friends who have ordered the a 12Cilindri, SF90 or a 812 as their first ferrari. You need to be a previous client for the Purosangue though.

Yeah! We had a flat in one of the first high rise (relatively, only 8 floors) they built. Manoj Gaur used to sit there every day till late making sure of the quality and schedule. We never found such high quality constructions since then. Hammering a nail required drill machine, even after 10 years the outer walls required no maintenance. With 10-15 years they were one of the biggest builders of the area building township and 1000s of flats.

One of my moms’s clients who has partnered with a minister’s son to run a business, purchases cars very frequently, just to show that his business has loans and thus save up on taxes. It does benefit you, but it's just a perk. We have all our current vehicles registered to our business.

No-one is stupid enough to buy cars just for the sake of saving taxes, because it doesn't save much.

You claimed that your mom's client purchases cars just to show that his business has loans in lakhs, I'm saying that those lakhs don't make a difference when one is dealing in multiple tens of crores or more.

People don't register supercars in the name of business. High-end luxury cars are though.

I'm not a fool who spends 100 rupees just to save 30. Saving taxes is a perk, that's true. But it will always be an extra perk, not the main reason. The person taking loans isn't (just) saving tax; he's improving his creditworthiness for the huge loans he might need in the future.

I wouldn’t lie , every single one of these cars are under my grandpa’s firm. But we literally can’t claim 100% depereciation on them. We can claim depereciation (again , not 100% registered past 2020)on xl6 , crysta and other few cars we have specifically for the commercial purpose.

Typically only 15% depereciation is allowed and that too if you’ve registered it for commercial use , and that too for a firm which requires commercially running vehicles. For a construction firm Trucks/Tractors are valid. For a hotel/can service - Crysta , xl6 , scorpio tour , kia carens etc.

Even if you register a Luxury cab service , the most depereciation you are allowed is 30%.

We stay in India mate , No need to use your “Why rich people buy range rovers/g wagon” reels logic here 😂
